Chapter 3 - Guild

As we went on our journey to the Luscensia Empire, a country located on the other side of the forest's border and located east of the Kredan Kingdom. Paul, the old man, lent me the books me the books to read while he pilots the carriage at the front and his daughter Tasha, sits beside me while I read the books in silence.

"Mister, can I ask a question?", Tasha asks.

"Oh, sure, what is it?", I reply with a smile.

"How were you able to use magic back then? I want to learn it too!", she responded.

"Ah- magic... hm...", I think what answer.

The problem is that my techniques or what she called magic isn't just a simple technique.

I closed my eyes and tried to see if how my character learned it from the Baden-beast taming clan.

"Do you know how to use chant?", I ask.

"I only know basic magic spells like fireball and water splash.", she pouts and looks down.

"There's no need to look down, come here. I'll teach you something amazing.", I answered with a smile.

I opened my inventory and took an empty talisman and a brush with ink.

"Watch carefully..."

I started to draw a symbol on the talisman and took her hand and placed it on top of the drawn talisman. I guided her hand as her mana started to move to her hand and made contact with the talisman.

The talisman then started to burn like wildfire and out came a small bird made out of a fire-attribute mana.

"A-amazing, its so cute!", she grabbed the flame bird and hugged it tightly.

I can't teach her right now since her body lacks the foundation and teaching her at this age would only cause her harm. If fate brings me back to her then I guess I'll consider teaching her.

"Be sure to take care of it and don't let it anywhere near water or else you'll have to say goodbye to it."

"I promise!", she answered.

As 3 days had passed, we finally reached the gate of the Luscensia Empire. The buildings and houses were what I just expected, the walls were made of stone and bricks with no paint. The people wearing clothes with the same style from the 1900's. I could really feel that I am inside a fantasy world.

"We're here, welcome to Luscensia capital, the main capital of the country of the Luscensia Empire.", Paul said.

"Paul, is there anyway for me to earn money here. I still don't know the current system here.", I said.

"Well, if you're looking for a job. Then I'd recommend you to register at the adventurer's guild. You take comissions from certain clients and they'll reward you upon accomplishing it.", Paul answered.

"Where can I find the Adventurer's Guild?", I ask him.

"Do not worry about that, I'll drop you off at the entrance.", He answered with a smile.

A few moments later, we arrived at the Guild's front. I dropped myself off and sent my farewell to the both of them. I looked at the entrance and walked to it and opened its doors. The inside was bustling with people, some were wearing heavy armor and holding swords, some were wearing robes and holding staffs, and some were just wearing normal clothes while carrying bags filled with items and potions.

As I entered, everybody turned to me and were staring at me. A man then came up to me.

"Nice to meet you, my name's Marvis. I can tell you're new here since I already probably know everybody's around here.", he says.

"Ah yes, my name is Angel. I just arrived here. I was wondering where I could get myself registered as an adventurer.", I politely said.

Paul gasped as he heard my statement.

"Wait, to become an adventurer? I didn't know nobles started taking interests in becoming adventurers.", he said.

"I am not actually a noble, I was just born like this.", I chuckled.

"Oh, apologies if I was being rude. Follow me, I'll lead you the counter.", He said.

Ha, for a bulky guy, I expected him to look down on me I guess I shouldn't judge people too much.

As we arrived at the counter... An female elf, standing behind the counter welcomed us.

"Welcome to the Adventurer's Guild, how may I help you two.", she welcomed us.

"Oh Maria, this guy is asking to be registered to be an adventurer. Hey Angel, com-", Marvis says.

For the first time in my life, the woman in front of me, who is beautiful and has long ears. An actual elf was right in front of me.

"A-an elf!?", I freak out.

"Haha, calm down Angel. I know elfs are rare but she's an real elf. Now anyway, come here and get yourself recorded.", he says.

"Oh, okay.", I replied.

"Sir Angel, please follow me to the testing room to have your data recorded. It is an necessary procedure for being registered as an adventurer.", she starts walking to the back.

"O-okay.", I quickly follow her inside a large room.

As we entered the room, there were two items faraway at each other. One was some sort of crystal ball and the other one was clearly an attack dummy.

"First would be the measuring test. Place your hand on top of the ball and inject a single mana particle. This crystal ball, depending on how bright it shines, it will determine how strong your mana is.", she explains.

"So it'll test my mana's destructive power.", I say.

"Correct, now please proceed with the test by injecting your mana into the ball.", she asks.

"Okay.", I get ready.

I'm also wondering, just how strong I am in this world's standards.

I gently touched the crystal ball and focused my chi down to my palm. As my chi made contact with the ball, a burst of light appeared that blinded both of our sights.

As soon the as the light faded, we both opened our eyes.

"S-sir Angel? Are you perhaps from one of the mage tower factions!? O-only those who were part of the mage tower factions were reported to make the crystal ball to shine that bright!", she exclaims.

"Ahaha.", I laugh.
