After evading Leo's pursuit, Link dared not let his guard down. He hurriedly led Ron for several miles until they finally stopped, exhausted, in a vast open field.
"Young Master, that Leo from the 'Wolsen' family is incredibly powerful!" Ron bent over, panting heavily. Just thinking about how Leo had effortlessly cut through a horde of skeletal creatures sent shivers down his spine.
"Hmph! So what if he's strong? In the end, he still delivered gold coins to me!" Link plopped down on the ground without a care for his image. Despite the heavy pouch on his shoulder causing him pain, he couldn't suppress the joy bubbling within him and broke into a grin.
"Young Master, please don't underestimate him. Leo is clearly not an ordinary person. After we stole so much gold from him, he won't let it go easily next time we meet!" Ron warned, his face etched with concern.
"Look at you, so timid!" Link smirked, patting Ron on the shoulder with a sense of pride. "Don't worry, when we meet again, who knows who will be the one on the receiving end of the beating!"
"That's true!" Ron nodded in agreement, not only accepting Link's bravado but finding it quite natural. The impact Link had made on him over the past few days was simply overwhelming. Ever since Link had been detected to possess the talent of a Summoner, it felt as if he had been on a rampage—first defeating Master Clark, then killing Gerald and Norton, and robbing the Selhi family's convoy! Link's strength seemed to grow stronger every day, surpassing Ron's understanding by leaps and bounds.
By now, Ron had developed an instinctive, blind trust in Link, as if there was nothing in this world that his young master couldn't accomplish.
For a while, both master and servant sat in silence, recovering from the intense exertion of their escape. After about fifteen minutes, their breathing gradually steadied.
At that moment, Ron suddenly looked at Link, hesitating as he began, "Young... Young Master..."
"What is it?" Link raised his head, puzzled.
"Um, it's like this..." Ron fidgeted with the hem of his clothes, looking as bashful as a shy maiden. "I have something I want to ask you for help with, but I don't know if you..."
"Just say it directly! Why are you being so wishy-washy?" Link snapped impatiently.
"Alright!" Ron took a deep breath and finally said, "Young Master, I was wondering if you could teach me how to practice 'Summoning Magic'?"
"'Summoning Magic'?" Link frowned.
"Yes, Young Master! If I could become a Summoner, even if I only had one-tenth—no, one-hundredth of your power, I wouldn't always be a burden to you!" Ron's face lit up with hope.
"Well..." Link hesitated, not giving a direct answer.
Seeing Link's reaction, Ron thought he was reluctant to teach him and quickly knelt before Link, pleading, "Becoming a practitioner is my biggest dream in life! Young Master, please help me!"
"Get up!" Link sighed, helping Ron to his feet while contemplating how to explain the situation.
In truth, Link didn't want to refuse Ron; ever since he inherited the memories of this body, he had come to realize that Ron was not just a loyal servant who had grown up alongside him, but one of the few people in the entire Launs family who genuinely cared for him.
However, the nature of the Undead Realm was too peculiar. While he could summon endless undead creatures without incantations, he had no idea how to teach someone else to do it! How could he explain this to Ron?
After a moment of thought, Link decided he couldn't bear to crush Ron's hopes. He said gently, "Ron, 'Summoning Magic' isn't something just anyone can wield. To become a Summoner, you must possess the innate talent for it."
At this point, Link asked, "Have you ever tested your cultivation talent?"
"Test my talent? Young Master, you must be joking!" Ron replied with a bitter smile. "I've been an orphan since childhood. If it weren't for the kindness of the master taking me in, I would have starved long ago. Now that I can work as a servant in the family and have enough to eat, I'm already very satisfied. How could I dare to ask the master to test my talent?"
He added, "Besides, testing for cultivation talent requires a mid-level mage to perform the assessment. That kind of expense is certainly not something the master would waste on us lowly servants!"
"That makes things difficult!" Link frowned deeply upon hearing this.
To be honest, he genuinely wanted to teach Ron. Since inheriting this body's memories, he had come to understand that Ron was one of the few people who truly cared for him in the Launs family.
But the unique nature of the Undead Realm made it impossible for him to articulate how to summon or teach it to others.
Just as Ron waited eagerly for Link's answer, and Link felt utterly helpless, a familiar voice suddenly echoed in Link's mind.
"Master, are you troubled about how to empower this person before you?"
"Big Eye Demon?" Link's heart jolted at the sound.
"Indeed, it is I, your most loyal servant!" the Big Eye Demon replied, its voice resonating in Link's mind.
Link, sensing its agreement, quickly asked, "Do you have a solution?"
"Of course! For you, Master, this is as simple as can be!"
