I turned the manga page, watching in giddy as the main hero finally beats the villain. "Take that Devil Lord!"
I was all alone in the room, laying on the floor reading my favorite manga. Go go G-man! A story about a superhero defeating the Devil Lord. Out of all my mangas I have this one is my favorite of all time, partially because all the women here were all so pretty, especially their huge breasts~
But mainly because of the hero, G-man himself. He's so freaking awesome with all his powers and being a good guy, I wanna be like him when I grow up.
The door cream opened, I saw them.
"There you are, you demon!"
"It's time to cleanse those eyes of yours . . . "
Two people walked over to me, their giant looming shadow completely enveloping me - one of them was holding a knife.
"No . . . No . . . Please!" I run, but one of them grabs my leg, pinning me down.
"Don't go anywhere you demon!"
They kept laughing like I was the funniest thing in the world.
"Help! Someone help me! Mia! Silvia! Silvia!" I shouted at the top of my lungs, yet no one answered my call. Where were they? Where was Mia! Silver! Did something happen to them!
"Shut up you demon wretch!" The man shouted, his eyes filled with insanity and rage. Wide and bloodshot.
"Please Stop it! Mom! Dad!"
My mom raised the knife she was holding.
She plunged it into my eye, then everything went red.

I woke up looking around to see where I was. Sweat had entirely covered my body.
I was in some kind of room? No, this was my dorm room. Yeah I remembered now, I was transported here and loads of other events happened.
Thank god it was just a dream, I wasn't back in that hell hole again. Never, I never want to be back.
Next to the was a small cabinet, there was a clock displaying the numbers, 6:21. Pretty sure the entrance ceremony would be at 8:00 so I had some time to kill.
I grabbed my bag and opened it, inside were all the things I had packed up. Though there was also a huge pile of mangas I had bought. Lucian had given me money to spend - god bless her.
I grab one of them. Metal Blade, I started to read it.
Probably an hour or so pass by. I have finished reading Metal Blade, I look at the clock, 7:00. Still have an hour.
Seeing I have nothing to do I decided to train myself. I went outside to the hallway.
The hallway was mostly empty with the exception of a couple of people. All of them stared at me for no reason, uh what?
I hurriedly got out of there, still I felt their ire directing it at me. I felt sweat sliding down my face from their attention.
Climbing down the stairs and going outside, my destination was the Mana forest. From what Hana mentioned Demon's spawn there, so this will be a great way for me to test myself against those Demons. In the past month I had never really fought against a Demon before all I've been fighting are those dungeon monsters. The System had said the dungeon monsters are weaker than Demons.
"Hey System, do you think I'm strong enough to take on Demons?"
[THE STRENGTH THOU CARRY IS GOOD ENOUGH TO HUNT THEM]
"Thanks."
[PLAYER MAY I INQUIRE, THY ART LOST?]
"No, I don't think so? Why?"
[THOU CROSS THIS GARDEN THREE TIMES NOW]
I looked around to see I was in a garden. It looked very beautiful: tall roses lined the sides of the garden, thousands of different colorful flowers. The air was seemingly more fresh and had this strong sweet perfume smell to it.
I looked around completely lost.
"Crap, I'm really lost . . . "
"Hello there Mr Maverick."
I turned to see the woman from yesterday. The head deputy Amalia Glacier. She bowed to me.
Wait, didn't Hana say yesterday to bow when greeting someone? I bowed, "Morning Ma'am."
"Wait are you doing in the garden?"
"heh, I'm kinda lost," A sheepish laugh escaped my lips, scratching my head in embarrassment.
"Lost you say? Where do you want to go?"
"You know some training."
"I see, excellent to see a hard working student. Just go over there, there'll be a pathway leading down to the Mana forest, but be careful the deeper you go; the tougher the Demons will be," She warned me.
"Sure, thanks alot," I followed her advice. Going through a couple of buildings there was this old metal gate with an old wooden sign on it.
Though the paint has faded, bits and pieces of it still remain so I can read it. Beware Demon's are near.
Opening the gate I climbed down the dirt path, a couple of minutes later I made it at the bottom.
Walked to one of the Mana trees, caressing the bark of it - no matter how many times I see it, it's still so magical and cool.
"Kukukuku~"
The hell, what was that? Something was coming out of the forest. It was huge, having a humanoid shape or it; the upper looked like a buff man, but the hips to the legs were covered in a thick black fur, the feet being hooves. The upper half, his skin was gray like stone, and red beady eyes.
Seeing this thing made me quiver, a shiver down my spine; something inside of me, my instinct itself telling me to run as fast as I can to survive. I felt the drops of sweat dripping down my face. I remembered it.
The feeling of the cold blade piercing my body-
[PLAYER SNAP OUT OF IT!]
The Demon lunged at me.
I rolled away just in time, the Demon crashed where I was, then stared at me promising to give me a bloody death. I think I poop my pants.
"Thanks System."
[THOU SHOULD CONCENTRATE ON THE PREY, NEVER LET IT ESCAPE YOUR SIGHT]
I nodded and activated Critical Strike.
The familiar image of a sword getting unsheathed.
[10x Strength]
I run at the Demon - my legs imbued with Mana to make it faster, I thrust the Critical Strike at the Demon, but the Demon jumped out of the way before I could even hit it. "Crap . . . "
I got into the fighting stance, maybe instead of going to it, I'll let it go to me.
The Demon roared and charged towards me - I readied my Critical Strike then when this thing was close enough I strike.
My fist implants itself inside the Demon's torso, blue liquid - presumably its blood, gushes out of the newly formed hole on its chest.
This thing gave me one last snarl, before falling to the ground, its eyes losing the vibrant red to it.
I did it . . . I actually did it . . . I killed a Demon!
[CONGRATULATIONS YOU HAVE LEVELED UP TO ELEVEN!]

"Sweet I leveled up!"
Maybe I should head deeper in the forest to find more Demons.
I headed deeper in the forest, walking a straight path - while admiring the magical scenery. The deeper I am, the more trees are thick, tall, and seemingly become more numerous. Before the trees were relatively thin and pretty short, but now the trees were thick as my body while being pretty tall; usually four floors tall.
There were also regular plants and wildlife present, in fact I saw loads of wildlife here like: some rabbits jumping around, a deer eating some berries, and a bunch of birds flying around the place.
Maybe the reason is because the presence of Demons here warding off any hunters.
A loud explosion rang through the forest, scaring all the animals and making me shit my pants.
"What the hell was that!"
[I RECOMMEND THE UTMOST CAUTION PLAYER!]
"Yeah."
I ran to where that explosion came from.
Walking past a few Mana trees I saw what had caused the explosion sound. It was a circular clearing with no trees, on the other side was a giant fast running river.
In the middle of it was a giant bat creature - a Demon. Its skin is black like charcoal, two giant golden horns adored with fucking skulls tied around it, it had a face of a lion including the mane which was a vibrant blue color. The main thing that caught my interest was its level . . .
Level one-hundred-forty! Holy crap!
Opposite to that Demon was a person, an Endian. It was the buff one that had declined to get a room. What was he going to do?!
Wait a second, I moved closer and caught a glimpse of his level.
Level one-hundred-fifty-six! My jaw dropped at the sight, this guy was an utter monster!
Being this close I had seen his expression, he was wearing this wild grin on his face. Revealing his toothy mouth.
Staring at the Demon with pure excitement and joy.
What was this guy smiling for?!
"Come at me!" The guy shouted at the top of his lungs, he ran to the Demon all the while laughing.
The Demon fired a blue energy beam from its mouth to the maniac.
The beam hit its target, but it wasn't even able to penetrate his skin, it simply slid off of him like the beam was simply water.
Once he was near the Endian's hand was glowing red, and it changed. Instead of a human hand there was a clawed hand with fur covering the skin.
"Die!" The guy impaled the Demon, blood rushed out. The man then lifts the Demon with one hand! He throws it into the river, and points his transformed hand towards the spot where he'd thrown the river. Mana circled around the hand creating a Mana sphere - he fired it like a beam towards the spot.
It creates a giant explosion, making the area wet from the Falling Waters, including him and myself..
"Come out, come out! Show me the strongest Demon here! I want more!" the man laught hysterically while pounding his chest like a gorilla.
What a weirdo . . .
I slowly moved back and went in another direction, not my business..
I kept walking around here still admiring the view, surprisingly there weren't many Demon's I had encountered. It was a calm place really.
"Did that guy kill all of the Demon's here?" I muttered to myself, maybe I should head deeper into the forest?
Yet that's a risky move, who knows how strong the Demon's will be. But I need to level up in order to catch up with the other students. What a conundrum.
"Maverick?"
I look up to see Hana. She looked like she had run an entire marathon, sweat and grime covered her once pristine skin. She wasn't wearing her usual white outfit, instead she wore a cute white tracksuit. On her waist was her silver rapier.
"What are you doing here?"
"Oh just trying to train, guess you also did that."
"Yeah I'm heading back to the dorms."
Well I feel embarrassed to say this but . . .
"H-hey Hana can you help me beat some Demons? There aren't any Demons around here, so I'm planning to go deeper, but since you know the Demons are stronger the deeper you go . . . "
She puffed her chest in pride. "Well since you asked, I supposed it's my duty as a noble to help commoners like you."
I couldn't help but roll my eyes at how dramatic she was. "Thanks."
"Come now,.ñ" She grabbed my hand and began dragging me . . . Wait a girl is holding my hand!
My cheeks began to heat up. She had this soft and delicate skin.
It was a dream come true of holding hands with a beautiful girl!
I noticed something above her head, her level. Yesterday it was eighty, but now it's eighty-two! She somehow leveled up.
[OF COURSE PLAYER, THOU AREN'T THE ONLY THAT CAN GET STRONGER. EVERYONE HAS THE CAPACITY TO BECOME STRONGER]
Ah ok.
We kept walking in a straight line, along the way we chatted about how our experience with Arcane Academy had been.
"I think Avoure is targeting me, yesterday he gave me this sinister smirk."
"Hmm! Of course a bastard like him would resort to dirty tricks. Look if Avoure gives you a hard time, call me, I'll sort it out with him."
"Thanks a lot Hana, what about you."
"Just as I expected, a bunch of the girls had begun to try and gain my favor; they invited me to a bunch of different parties and social gatherings. But I really wasn't interested in any of them. It's why I'm here to get away from all those suck-ups," Hana looked particularly sour when she mentioned it.
"Hey Hana, I was wondering why you are engaged to Avoure? He's a prick." That fact bugged me.
"Believe me Maverick, if I had a choice I wouldn't."
"Wouldn't?"
"Right, this is an arranged marriage planned by our parents. I hate it," I saw her clutching her fist tightly.
That sucks to hear, I should really change the subject.
Something came out from the trees, It was a Demon. It landed in front of them creating a big thud from how big this thing is. It looked similar to a werewolf, but somehow looked more feral with its messy crimson fur and slouching too. Though its head resembles a dragon more so than a wolf's.
I looked up to its level and saw it was level twenty. This should be fine with Hana here. "I think I can fight that thing alone."
A sword unsheathed.
"Fine, but if the fight turns sour, I'll bail you out of there," Hana walks over to a nearby tree leaning against it crossing her arms.
I run to the Demon - my legs enforce with Mana. The Demon did the same thing running at me.
Then I activated Critical Strike.
[10x Strength]
I hit it in the face, but it dodge! Before I could do anything this thing grabbed my face and threw me to a tree.
I landed on the tree then fell down, I quickly got up getting into a fight stance. Thankfully I'm fine with Mana Reinforcement.
The Demon closed the distance between us, this thing hit my face, though I blocked the attack with my forearm. It uses its right arm to hit me square in the face.
Damn that hurts! I'm pretty, my nose is bleeding.
"Maverick don't leave any openings and try to anticipate his next move, don't react to what's in front."
I heard Hana say that.
The Demon throws another right hook, but I anticipated that. I ducked out of the way then took my chance. Punching this thing in the gut with Critical Strike. This thing puke out its blue blood, it landed on me too ew!
This thing stumbled in a daze - I took this chance giving him a flurry of punches at him.
Despite being in that state the Demon dodged all my punches. "Crap, how!"
"Be unpredictable!" Hana said.
"Take this!" I landed a Critical Strike on this thing's stomach, it was thrown back to a tree. I took this chance running towards it and threw a Critical Strike into its face. Like I predicted the Demon dodge.
I activated Critical Strike on my other arm.
Throughout this entire time I had been only using Critical Strike on one arm, but Critical Strike isn't only limited to one arm; it can be used by both arms. The only caveat is it costs more Mana, but I still have plenty of Mana right now.
As it dodged my first strike, my other arms immediately went to its head. Activating Critical Strike. I could tell this thing wasn't expecting that, I grin. Checkmate!
My strike landed on its face, it kept digging deep inside this thing's head; piercing through the skull and into this thing inside.
I pulled out my arm from this thing. It landed on the ground lifeless. My entire arm is covered by this thing's blood. Ew . . . I flick off some of its blood.

"Nice job, but you're a total mess right now. Simply ungracious," Hana walked up to me shaking her head.
"Heh, sorry about this."
"Here you go," She handed me a towel. I wiped off all of the blue blood, making sure to not miss any spot.
"Idiot, there's still some on your face," She leaned in, grabbing the towel and wiping away some blood that was on my face. "Thanks.
"So wanna return?"
I saw how my level was thirteen now, I'm satisfied with the level I'll spend my points and level up more at a later date.
"Yeah sure."

We arrived at the school, this time there were alot more students awake and doing their own stuff.
We're heading to the cafeteria to eat something before the school ceremony.
Walking to the cafeteria via the hallway we come across someone, Avoure. Behind him were four people, likely his goons.
"Oh, great it's you . . . " I heard Hana mutter under breath.
"There you are my beautiful Darling, still hanging around those commoners I see." The man glared at me. I gulped at seeing our sheer difference in levels, but I didn't stand down.
"Avoure, stop with this small talk and tell me what you want."
"What I want is for you to stop hanging around that filthy commoner," He pointed at me, asshole.
"Yeah screw that fucker!" One of his goons shouted.
"If you want I can beat that commoners." Another one of them said.
Unfortunately all of their levels are around fifty, so I'm completely screwed. Around us the other students were ignoring us - probably to not get involved in this.
"Avoure unless you're a blind, I'm not some toddler. I can choose whoever I want to hang. Besides, Maverick is already a better man than you, not that it was a high bar to begin with."
I blushed in embarrassment at Hana's praise. "T-thanks Hana."
Avoure's eyes narrowed. "That's not how a wife should act, don't act like some common whore grifting from man to man."
"Hey Hana, let's just ignore him," I suggested.
"You're right Maverick, get out of the way Avoure."
"What if I don't?" He gave us a sinister looking smirk, in the corner of my eye I saw his minions slowly spread out, so It'll block more of the hallway.
Hana must've seen it too, because her hand was slowly inching to her rapier. I also got ready if things get messy.
It was a long tense minute of nothing, we were ready for them to attack us, but they didn't. I was ready to immediately use Critical Strike.
"Hey! Get out of the way! I'm hungry!" Someone behind me said.
I turned around to see someone's chest, my eye level was directly at his chest. Slowly I looked up to see him, the Endian that was in the forest.
He gave us an annoyed look. "Move out of the way, I'm hungry!" He shouted.
Hana steps aside for him, but Avoure doesn't do that. "What should I do for an animal like you?"
"You better damn take that back," The Endian snarls, reminiscent of a rageful beast.
"I won-" Avoure was knocked to the side by the Endian's fist. Avoure was seemingly out cold with blood running down his face.
"Hmm, weakling like you shouldn't talk," The Endian said, then he walked past all of us to the cafeteria.
"Boss you ok!" Avoure's guys ran up to him, he kept shaking Avoure trying to wake the man up, but he was still unconscious. Is he ok?
"We gotta take him to the Nurse's office!"
"You'll pay for this you shitty Commoner," One of them pointed his finger at me, how was this my fault. They picked up Avoure and went to the nurse's office.
"Hmm, you gotta be careful around those dangerous people, Maverick, or else they'll randomly attack you like savages," Hana said.
We went to the cafeteria, it was a massive structure with multiple long tables, the walls were pristine white and it even had air conditioning, on the ceiling was a golden chandelier.
There were several pillars supporting the ceiling. On each side of those pillars were kiosks that had long lines of people waiting for their turn to order some meal.
On the back of the room was the food station where the chefs were handing out the food. This place looks less like a cafeteria and more like a high grade restaurant.
Suddenly the loud buzz of everyone seemingly died down the moment we entered. All of their attention to me? No it was Hana, still it was embarrassing to be kinda in the center of attention.
"Oh my god it's her!"
"She looks beautiful up close!"
"Can I ask her to be my friend?"
In the corner of my eye I see Hana puffing her chest in pride, clearly enjoying all the attention she's getting here. "Yes, praise me more the beautiful girl I am!"
"Hey Hana I'll find us some table to sit at, can you take the orders?"
"Hmm, of course what meal do you want?"
"Hmm I want something that has meat."
We split up, Hana heading to the kiosks while I tried to find any tables that weren't filled with that many people.
I saw one table that wasn't filled with that many people, just one. It was the Endian. He was eating an entire buffet! The table was covered with dishes of meat and vegetables and he was practically eating all of them in seconds.
Walking up to the man. "Hey, excuse me, can my friend and I sit here?"
He looked over at me, eyeing me up and down before saying. "Sure I don't really care . . . " He continued to eat his meal like a wild animal.
"Thanks." I sat down and waited for Hana to come over.
Now that I have free time, I'll spend my nine points on my stats. I put five points into Strength, then I'll split the remaining four points; two for speed, and two for defense.
I don't really need extra Mana right now, I also my speed and defense are pretty good with Mana Reinforcement. My goal is to make a build that can one shot or at least make the fight shorter, the shorter the fight, the better it'll be.

I looked over my stats, pretty pleased with how it turned out honestly.
"Hey mind If we sit here?" Somebody said. I looked up to see two people.
The person that said that was a dark skinned handsome guy with black dreadlocks and emerald green eyes, he was wearing a gray turtleneck with a silver necklace of a music note. He was also wearing very baggy black pants. Seventy-eight was his level.
Next to him was another person, also dark skinned, he had short black mesh hair and piercing onyx eyes. He was wearing a tight fitting dark slightly-off blue shirt that clearly outlined his muscles, also there was a breast window to see his breast. Wearing a long dark blue scarf. He was wearing gray pants and weirdly thick wooden sandals. Above his head was his level one-hundred!
"The name's Naobulim Zone! And this is my friend," He bowed and then pointed at the scarf wearing guy clearly expecting him to introduce himself, but instead the man simply crossed his arms and looked in another direction.
"Heh . . . Don't mind him, he's just shy at introducing himself."
"I'm not shy," The scarf guy said.
"Yes you are."
"Well, I'm Jackson Maverick," I bowed to him
"Since my shy friend won't introduce himself, I will. His name is Michael Lee." Naobulim pats Michael's back.
"So Can we sit here?" Naobulim asked.
"Uh sure," I made some room, so they could sit.
"So who's the big guy?" Naobulim points at the Endian who was still busy munching down on his food.
"To be honest I didn't get his name," I shrugged.
"So what's your name, big guy?"
The Endian stopped eating and turned to us. "It's Barbatos Silk . . . "
Barbatos Silk? Kinda sounds awesome.
"Man big guy, can you really finish all that?" Naobulim looked at all the dishes Barbatos was eating, the amount of food Barbatos was eating could probably feed an entire family for a few days.
"Food is necessary for a warrior to be strong."
"Oh really?"
Naobulim was eating a bowl of cereal, while Michael was eating a dish that closely resembles sushi, but it wasn't quite it.
"What about you Jackson? Where's your food?"
"Oh me? I'm waiting for my friend to bring it over."
"Oh Maverick? Who are these people?" I saw Hana approaching carrying our food. She was holding two plates that were a mixture of fruit, vegetables, and some rice; the fruits and vegetables were arranged in a spiral pattern and looked really appetizing, all the colors really mixing well together and vibrant.
"Woah, that looks delicious!"
"Of course Maverick, I picked the best food. It has all the necessary vitamins and calories and it is good for your digestion," Hana places it on the table and sits right next to me.
"Oh right, they wanted to sit here since the other tables were full."
"I see."
"Name's Naobulim Zone," He bowed.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Hana Von Yue," She bowed.
She notices Michael Lee and for a split second froze, her eyes slightly widened . . . What?
She quickly went back to her usual composure. Weirdly she didn't introduce herself to Michael, instead she chatted with Naobulim. Do they have a history together?
"P-please stop it!"
Wait, that voice! It sounded so familiar! It couldn't be her, can it?
"Why would I listen to an animal fucker like you!"
"How disgraceful," Hana said
"What a bastard . . . " Naobulim said.
"Weaklings like the savage they are," Barbatos said.
Michael didn't say anything.
I turned to see some dude pulling the rabbits ears of a girl, a very familiar girl.
"Ayjin?" I muttered.
