An unfamiliar white smooth ceiling was the first thing I saw, the buzzing sound of the ceiling fan was the first noise I heard. Sitting up to look around the room. It was an ordinary-sized room having all the furniture you'd expect like cabinets filled with medicine, a Table in the corner, and a comfy-looking chair – there were some cat theme toys on the chairs too. There wasn't anyone sitting on the chair though. Plastered on the walls were posters of human anatomy and motivational posters to convince people to be healthy; I'd always wondered if anyone had actually listened to the poster's advice.
"What the heck happened?" I said to myself. A flash of pain made me curl up, crap! I think one of my rims isn't all that healed.
"Honestly I wish to know the answer too, Maverick," Hana was lying down on a bed right next to my bed. Instead of her normal attire, she was wearing a baggy hospital gown, bandages covering part of her body; there was even some on her face though it wasn't completely covered. She was reading a book, having a completely bored expression on her face. On the foot of her bed was a stool where somebody could sit on, but instead of a person probably dozens of gift boxes – each one of various sizes lay on top of it with many messes attached usually having the same thing written down: Get better soon, then followed by the name of whoever sent the present.
Not gonna lie I was a bit jealous she had this many presents. "So Hana you feeling well?"
"Why yes I'm feeling well, despite the fact my body is in complete pain, I'm feeling quite swell."
"Well jeez, sorry about caring for your health Hana," I puffed my cheeks looking the other way.
I heard Hana sigh. "I know, I'm sorry Maverick. I'm a bit peeved right now for this whole situation."
"Understandable, I guess."
"Like I said before I have no idea what happened, I'm in the same boat as you are. Completely lost in this mist."
"I hope Ayjin is fine."
"I wouldn't worry too much, seeing how we're in a nurse's office: we were likely knocked out in a fight and somehow Ayjin saved us and beat the test all by herself, quite commendable for an Endian. I'm surprised she didn't leave us."
"You know Ayjin isn't like that."
"Yeah, it's why I'm surprised, quite a rare trait of kindness from them," Hana said as she flipped a page, it was rubbing me the wrong way how narrow-minded and so prejudiced Hana is to Endian, I understand what the hate Endian's get, at the end of the day they're just normal people too – who can be bad or good.
"Hana what's your prejudice against Endians, not all Endians are bad guys."
Hana put the book down and turned to me. "I disagree Maverick, most Endians are like ambushed predators, waiting for the perfect moment to lash out at us simply because of our species."
"That's very narrow-minded you know that, right? It isn't true that all of them are bad, I know Ayjin and she would never do what you said."
"She's one of the kinder ones, most Endians are backstabbers, willing to harm anyone because of their self-righteousness."
"Wel,l how would you know?" I asked.
"Personal experience . . ." Hearing how quietly Hana said that and the look on her face; the way her lips frowned and the pain in her as she looked away from me. Guess it must be a deep cut, but still, one's actions shouldn't mean everybody else was bad that's what I believe in anyway.
How should I approach this? I want to change Hana's opinions on Endians, but at the same time, it was clear as day that she was uncomfortable talking about this. Dang it, in anime it looked so easy to convince someone, then again real life and anime were way different.
"Look Hana, whatever happened must have been terrible, but you shouldn't let the actions of few determine the rest, like just because Avoure is a bastard doesn't mean every noble is bad."
"Hah! I envy your ignorance of the nature of nobles."
"Well ok. Bad example, still though you get my point right?."
"I understand it, I'm not a fool. Yet I can't trust them Maverick, not in a long time. Your attempt at changing my mind was commendable at least."
"Ok, but please don't try to start any argument with Ayjin. I don't want to see you both fight."
"I'll try, but no promises."
I have an inkling that'll be the most I can get with Hana, I sigh at least she's trying. Then I remembered what Hana said. "You know Hana I do truly think not every noble is bad."
"Why so Maverick?"
"Because of you."
"Oh really? I don't think I'm a good person." She raised an eyebrow at me.
"You protected me and Ayjin, I think you're good in my book."
Hana let out a soft chuckle. "If you say so." The door opened to reveal a man and Ayjin!
"I see you're both finally awake." The older man said he looked to be around his thirties. Though he gave this feeling like he was much older than that
"Maverick, you're ok!" Ayjin rushes from the door.
"Hey Ayjin, good to see you're fine too." If she wasn't busy hugging me she would have seen my face red like a tomato, and my blood rushing down on a certain body part. I couldn't help myself. It was rare to see a beautiful girl like Ayjin hugging me!
In the corner of my eye, I saw Hana roll her eyes at the scene next to her. Crap! I think Ayjin was hugging me a bit too tightly.
"Uh! A-Ayjin please let go! It's hard!" I squeak out. Immediately she lets go, her face red as a tomato. "Oh my Gaiea I'm sorry! I was so worried, sorry Jackson!"
"Nah, it's fine really." I tried to calm her down.
"So are you feeling any better?" Ayjin said. Well, I wouldn't exactly call it better, but I'm not in a constant state of agony so sure I'll call it better. "I've never been better- ACK!" A jolt of pain struck my arm as I tried to flex. Cra,p it hurts!
"Maverick!"
"Jackson!"
Both girls shouted at the same time, if it were any other situation I'd be in absolute bliss of two beautiful girls being worried about me. But instead of bliss, it's pain. Gripping my arm I tried to soothe the pain; it was like one of my bones snapped.
"Woah, easy there kid. No sudden movement, your bones are about as fragile as glass, don't do any sudden movement." The man walked over to me, and Ayjin moved out of the way to give him enough room. He placed his hand on where the pain was the most, near my left shoulder. In between the gaps of his finger, I saw green lights shining the next moment the pain was all gone. "Woah! Thanks a lot, I feel better!"
"Don't mention it, kid, oh right should probably introduce myself. The name's Gabriel Romano. The main nurse around here at Arcana Academy, as you saw I'm a Mana Arbiter specializing in healing." He bowed his head to him.
"Jackson Maverick." I bowed my head.
Hearing how he explained how his Arcana worked made me curious about something.
"If your Arcana is healing, why are we still pretty injured?" I asked.
"Well, to be honest, healing isn't exactly the correct description. My ability allows me to accelerate your cells' healing process, so light wounds will heal instantly, but since your wounds are pretty grievous it'll take days for you guys to be in top shape again."
"I see," I nodded my head, ok that makes sense.
"Thank you for taking care of us Mr Romano," Hana bowed her head.
"No problem, it's a great honor to serve a member of the Von Yue family," The Doc said, a nickname I made.
"Well if you guys ever need me just ring that phone, I have some business to attend to," The Doc pointed at a nearby telephone that was near my bed. "Bye kids," He walked off.
With the three of us alone now, Ayjin grabs a nearby chair and sits down near us. All of us began to talk with one another, well really me, and Ayjin, Hana just read some of her books.
"So Ayjin what have you been doing while me and Hana were knocked out?"
"Well since we pretty much failed the exam I was planning to leave, but surprisingly Ms Glacier had allowed me to stay in the dormitory, she said she wanted to talk to all three of us about something."
"Something?" I wonder what Amelia Glacier meant by that.
"Your guess is as good as mine." She shrugged.
"So how's life been here at the Academy? Is it awesome?" In all the anime I've watched where the main setting is a magical school, it's usually shown to be fun and exciting. I wonder if it's the same here.
"Terrible."
"Oh . . . . really?"
"Yeah, it feels like I'm an outcast or like a freak. Whenever I go where people are I always get the feeling they're watching me, judging me and how I'm inferior to them because of my race, it's terrible. That's only the tip of the iceberg . . . "
" . . . Ayjin, did they hurt you?"
[Calamity Point: 86]
"I-ummm the room was all nice, and especially the food, yeah. It was super good, you should try some of it."
"Oh ok?"
"Hey Ayjin I've been wondering something," Hana suddenly spoke, both of attention was to her. "Yeah, what is it?" Ayjin said.
"How did we survive against that Greater Demon?" Hana asked. She brought up a good point I remember now we were all on the verge of dying, I blacked out and somehow we're all ok. "Seriously though Ayjin, how were you to carry us while being able to escape that Greater Demon?" The only possible solution I could think of to escape that monster was that she had another beast she could summon, but that begs the question of why didn't she summon that earlier.
"Uh, Jackson you were the one that killed the Greater Demon don't you remember?"
W H A T!
"Wait! What do you mean I killed the Greater Demon?" I asked, that can't be right. What the hell is she talking about? How was I able to kill a monster like that when I was struggling with Dungeon bosses?
"You know Ayjin the number one rule of lying is to make it believable," Hana said.
"Guys it's true though!" Seeing how earnestly she said it, and the look on her face made me doubt she was lying; maybe there was another explanation. I wonder if the system knows what has happened.
"No offense Maverick, but you aren't exactly a top-tier fighter."
"Oh no, it's fine," I waved her off. I saw both Ayjin and Hana arguing again, but right now I have something more important to focus on. "Hey System," I whispered.
[THOU REQUIRES MY ESTEEMED SELF ASSISTANT?]
"Yeah, can you explain to me what happened after I was knocked unconscious?"
[ . . . ]
"Uh, System?" I'm a bit concerned.
[THOU OUGHT TO I, HEED MY WARNINGS]
"Hey just what happened? You're kinda freaking me out here," The System giving me these cryptic messages was concerning me, just what happened while I was passed out.
[BEFORE I SHALL TELL THAT SACRILEGIOUS EVENT, PROMISE TO I THOU SHALL OUGHT MY WARNING]
"Sure, sure, sure I'll listen to your warning I promise. It's a boy scout's promise," I emphasized this more by holding out my arm and crossing my fingers.
[THOU HAST TRULY BIZARRE CUSTOMS]
"Ok, come on, tell me what happened."
[I SHALL BEGIN THIS TALE OF DREAD]

"Are all of the memory files deleted?" Ivon Von Jo, the principal of Arcane Academy asked.
Amelia Glacier nodded. "As you requested: all footage of Avoure Vin Mae attacking Hana Von You and her teammates had been either deleted or altered so it wouldn't incriminate Mr Vin Mae."
Both high-ranking personnel were in the principal office. The normally open windows were now closed, the lights turned off, and the door shut looked. The only light source in the room was two things, one was an advanced tablet Amelia was holding. The other more prominent light source was a small disk Lost Tech, which displays a hologram that shows camera footage of Avoure and his teammates attacking Hana Von Yue and her teammates.
"May I ask something, Sir," Amelia said. Oddly enough to Ivon she looked uncomfortable, upset at something.
"Sure what is it, Ms Glacier?"
"Why are we doing this!" She pointed at the tablet she was holding.
"Eh? What do you mean Ms Glacier?"
"Mr Vin Mae and his teammates attacked three students, almost beating them to death! Why are we giving detention, when we should have expelled them? And We are covering for him!" Amelia shouted.
"Look Ms. Glacier I know you're frustrated, but- "
"But what? What in the world could justify our students nearly getting themselves killed! It was pure luck they even survived in the first place!" Her voice had completely drowned out his own.
"Listen to me Ms Glacier- "
"We should have made an example out of him!"
"LISTEN TO ME AMELIA!" His sudden shouting made her quiet, she listened to what he had to say.
"What is it . . . " She coldly said, her piercing blue eyes staring coldly at him.
Now having her attention he cleared his voice before speaking. "After the examination, he offered me a deal."
"Ivon you can't be serious . . . " Her eyes widened.
"He said he'll give me five hundred million Silver, some major military connections, and invite me to all sorts of social events where I possibly could increase my standing. All of that in exchange I'll do some favors for him, it's the deal of a lifetime!"
"Ivon I'm disgusted at you, this stood against the principles of a teacher!"
"Who cares about principles when I could increase my social standing in the kingdom!"
"You're lucky you're the headmaster of Arcane Academy," Amelia couldn't help herself to growl at him.
"Ms Glacier, are you threatening me?" Ivon took one step to the door, sweat pouring down his face as he was ready to run at any moment.
"Interpret it as you will, but know this I won't stand this. I won't be a dog to Mr Vin Mae," Amelia walked past the frightened Ivon leaving behind the office. She had left a trail of cold mist. Seeing her leave the office made Ivon slump down his table, releasing a breath he didn't know he was holding.
"I need some wine to drink," He said to himself.
Outside the headmaster's office, Amelia walks down the hallways, she is angry beyond belief. A cold mist was constantly spewing from her body. Her heels clicked across the empty hallways. "I hate this, the system is corrupt to its very core. I'll protect the innocent, I won't let another tragedy repeat itself. Not again . . . "

Aside from getting a new title, the thing that had gotten most of my attention was the Calamity point state. The normal one hundred was down to eighty-six.
[IF THOU LET'S THY EMOTIONS RAN RAMPANT THE NUMBER WILL GO DOWN. THE LOWER THE NUMBER THE MORE YOU ABSORB MY RAW UNFILTERED MANA; THUS TRANSFORMING YOU INTO MORE LIKE A BEAST]
"Why didn't you tell me before!"
"Uh, Maverick, who are you talking to?" Turning around to see Hana and Ayjin staring at me weirdly. Crap! From their perspective, I must've looked like a total weirdo!
"Jackson, are you ok? What do you mean not telling you before?" Ayjin asked with a worried look.
Crap! I gotta think of something fast. I know! "It's nothing guys, I just got a lot to think about."
"Ok whatever you say," Hana said.
"Well guys I have something to do first, I'll see you again soon," Ayjin said as she took a glance at the clock. Waving her hand before leaving the door.
"So what do you think Maverick? Do you believe her story?" Hana asks as she lay on the bed.
"I, well yeah I believe her," I couldn't help, but feel angry at the System. Why the hell didn't it tell me about something this important, especially if it could have gotten the others hurt? From the System's retelling of the events, it was lucky I was able to snap back to lucidity in time.
"Oh? Why so?" She raised an eyebrow at me.
"I guess you could say a gut feeling of sorts," I shrugged.
"Hmm, well there have been cases where Arcana have sets of abilities, or people discovering parts of their Arcana they have never used before. That's the only explanation I could think of," She said.
"Maybe you're right Hana."
"Like always," She puffed her chest in pride.
________________________________
It was the next day and we were still in the nurse's office. I was getting pretty bored here, nothing else to do, but watch some online videos on my phone. Right now I was watching some anime when I took a glance at what Hana was doing, as usual, she was engrossed in a book. Looking to the left at the feet of her bed were all the presents still wrapped. She hadn't even touched a single one which was rude; the reason why was because she'd open the presents in her room.
Looking across from us, there was the doc. He was sitting on a chair with his feet on the chair reading some kind of magazine, and he was wearing pink fluffy bunny sandals. He had this bored expression as he flipped through the pages. I share your pain too.
There wasn't much to do, but wait for our injuries to heal, thankfully the doc said we had made significant progress so it's likely tomorrow we'll be fine.
Some bit of consolation was that the food here was nice. Though a little bit bland and stale with no distinguishing flavors.
The door opened, and simultaneously all of our attention was grabbed by it. Amelia walked in. Seeing her face, the doctor's face brightened. "Lia! Finally, something to liven the place up."
She chuckled before saying. "So I am correct to assume you can't live without me, Gabe."
Hearing this made the doc's eyes roll. "Please, you could barely cook even if your life depended on it."
"Said the guy who spent his evening playing silly board games."
"You take that back! Bobo's Grand Adventure is an all-time classic and you know it!"
"Ok I concede defeat," She brought both of her hands up to surrender.
"So what brings you here to see little ol' me?"
"I wanna talk to the students."
In the corner of my eye, I saw Hana had dropped her book and was awestruck at Amelia's appearance, her mouth gaping wide. "Oh, my Gaiea Maverick It's her! Amelia Glacier!"
"Yeah, Hana I already know."
"Then please don't embarrass yourself." She quietly whispered to me. Hearing this I rolled my eyes jeez I'm not a child.
"So Ms Glacier it's an honor to be in your presence again, I've read all about you and your exploits!" I was surprised to see Hana like this, I knew she was big for the head deputy, but I didn't know it was to this degree. Amelia herself looks surprised at Hana's words. Behind her, the Doc himself chuckled. "Hey, Lia looks like you got yourself a super fan."
"It's not like that. I simply admire her work and all that she accomplished," It was weird to see Hana so flustered and acting like a complete fanboy, well fangirl in this case.
"Please calm yourself down Ms Von Yue, all of my work isn't all that impressive," Amelia tried to dissuade Hana, though from seeing Hana's face it wasn't working. Something about what Amelia said made me curious.
"Hey Hana, what are Ms Glacier's works?"
"Well to answer your question Mr Maverick before I became a teacher, I worked as a Royal Guard. But that's about it, nothing too special," She shook her head.
"I'm sorry to say this, but that's nonsense. Maverick, she did all sorts of amazing things: Several years ago there was this huge forest fire that spread for miles. Fortunately, Ms Glacier was able to extinguish it all by herself, another time is when a Dragon had suddenly attacked the Royal Kingdom Ms Glacier was able to defeat the Dragon all by herself! Or another event where she saved an entire cruise ship from two Sea Dragons by herself! And that's just the tip of the Iceberg!"
Woah and I thought I was an obsessive fan of anime. I looked at Amelia to see what her reaction was, she stared at Hana with a shocked expression. The Doc was barely containing the wide grin on his face. For several seconds the entire room was in silence. Hana noticed this and she blushed from the adults' stunt silences. Eventually, Amelia coughs to gain the room's attention. "Well I'm happy to see you very informative at least, though personally, I think I'm not that great to deserve any sort of praise, but anyway I'm getting sidetracked. You see I came down here to talk to you two and Ms Fe's future here in Arcane Academy."
Hearing this made Hana physically wilt like a dead flower. Right, we failed the examination, guess I gotta find another way to get that I.D.
"First one I wanna say, even though all three of you failed the examination I reconsider rejecting you after seeing your performance in the examination," I was surprised to hear that, even Hana was in the same boat too judging from her reaction. "Really Ms Glacier!" She said the words that I thought.
"Yes, all three of you passed with flying colors. In the history of Arcane Academy, there have only been a few individuals who have managed to complete such a monumental task. Actually one of those Individuals was your Brother Midas Von Yue if I recall."
"Oh really?" Hana said.
"Yes, so it is my honor to welcome you both to Arcane Academy," Amelia and the Doc began clapping.
While Hana puffed her chest in pride. "We did it Maverick! We made it to Arcane Academy!"
"Hey, does Ayjin know about this?" I asked.
"Of course, I'd naturally tell Ms Fe about this news. Now I have a few things to tell you."
"What is it?" Hana said.
"First off because you're still recovering you won't get any strikes or penalties for being absent, officially you both start tomorrow for your class. Secondly, you'll still keep your dorm rooms and that'll be your dorm rooms for the next three years. And lastly, this is a very important thing I want to tell you." Near the end her tone shifted; it became more serious and stoic.
Hearing how serious she sounded, Hana adjusted herself to make it more comfortable. "What is it?"
"It's about Mr Avoure's and his teammates' actions."
"Him," Hana growled under her breath.
"Because of his actions; currently as we speak Avoure is getting mandatory detention for an entire year," Hearing that made my mind explode from shock, just for a measly detention? That doesn't make any sense! That guy tried to kill us! At least he should have been expelled! My fist clenched in anger.
"If Avoure tries another stunt like that again please inform me, though our school teaches combat we do not encourage attacking other students," Amelia said.
Hearing this Hana nodded "I understand Ms Glacier."
"Good now I'll be going as I have some work to do, I hope the both of you will recover soon," Amelia left the room.
Seeing the head deputy leave the doc stood up, stretching his limbs as if he had been sitting there for days. "Well I'm getting hungry, I'll be out for a bit grabbing something to eat. It's ok to assume I can leave you two by yourselves right?" Raising an eyebrow at us.
"Yes we'll be fine," Hana nods.
I was really getting bored, there wasn't anything else to do, but I watched some internet videos: curiously it's still called the internet in this world, though I didn't recognize all the apps so I took a while to figure out how to navigate the digital space. I already got quickly bored of it as all the videos weren't that really interesting to watch.
"Hey Doc, do you have something interesting?"
"eh, what do you mean?"
"Well, I'm bored so . . ."
"Well I have this Board game," Walking to a nearby black cabinet, he opened the lowest drawer picking up a rectangle box: it was made out of cardboard, and the artwork was pretty colorful it wasn't the fact all the colors were faded it features a board with chess pattern but instead of black and white it was all the prime colors, on the side were a miniature pieces that looked like pawns with different head each one shaped like creatures. There were some smudges and dirt on it, big bold yellow words, and a red outline on top of the red outline having a black outline too. It spelled the board game's name. 'Kingdoms Four Benjo!'
"Here catch," He threw it at me, and I caught it just in time; doing so made the many pieces inside jiggle. It sounded like there were a lot of pieces.
"Well, I'll be going bye," The Doc walked out waving goodbye at us. I turned to Hana. "Wanna play?"
Putting her book down Hana looked at the box raising an eyebrow. "Isn't that a children's game?"
I felt a bit embarrassed hearing that, but I still wanted to play this with her. "Hey! Kids games can be fun too! What, you're a chicken to play?" Maybe mocking her would make her want to play more, you know feeding in her pride.
"Pass."
"Ow, come on please!" Clasping my hands together in a prayer, mustering up all my begging skills for this.
"Pass still," She picked up her book and began reading. I tried to do my best puppy eyes expression.
"Pretty please!"
"Hmmm, fine," Hana puts down the book.
"Nice! Let's play."
"So do you know the rules?"
"Uh, No . . . "
"You idiot, fine I'll teach."
"Yeah!"
________________________________
"Finally we're out!" I said stretching my arms to release some tension. Me and Hana were in a fancy white hallway, it was huge having so much space it could comfortably fit a crowd of people, the walls had intricate designs on them with pillars and arches imbedded into them, and on the ceiling were multiple silver chandeliers in a row, though instead of candles it was light bulbs, the floor was a white marble texture. It was a comfortable level of cold thanks to the air conditioner.
It was the next day and finally, we were able to leave, all of our wounds now healed and us back in shape. Unfortunately, as much as I'd like to jump into my bed and rest for an entire day, the school demanded we immediately go to our classes to make up for the time spent in the nurse's office.
"Man, I really wanted to rest and read manga in my room."
"You shouldn't be complaining, it was a miracle they let us join the school and allow us some way to make up for those days spent in the nurse's office," Hana said as she looked at the mirror checking herself out, right now she's wearing some makeup.
Right now I was wearing the school's uniform that they provided. It consists of: white blazers that had golden accents with a red tie, underneath it was a black polo shirt, white pants and shiny black boots or if you're a girl it was a black skirt and black stockings with white heels.
On Hana's hips was her silver rapier sheathed.
"You know Maverick, even if we can make up for the days we were absent, I'm worried we're potentially failing. Especially since we made a bad impression with the examination."
I pat her on the back. "Don't sweat it, I'm sure we'll be fine, didn't Ms Glacier say we were the only people that beat a Greater Demon?"
"If you say so."
We kept walking until we made it to where the classroom was. Above the black wooden door was a white sign that said 'Class A - 7'
"Come on, let's go in," Hana grabbed my hand before I could turn the doorknob.
"Uh, what is It?"
"Maverick, do you know the number one rule of Noble etiquette?" She raised an eyebrow at me. Number one rule of Noble etiquette? What does that mean? Let's see here I guess . . .
"Being clean I guess?" I shrugged hoping that was the right answer, I wondered what's the point of this.
"That's partially correct, it's about first impressions."
"I mean I looked fine and took a shower."
"Look I have way more experience in this world than you do, behind this door will be filled with sons and daughters of nobles who can make or break your time here in Arcane Academy. First impressions matter."
"Wait, isn't it like Arcane Academy teaches about combat? Why do stuff like first impressions and noble etiquette matter?"
"In a true ideal world, but alas we don't live in a fair world for generations Arcane Academy is built on the foundation of nobles, so naturally their influence spread to the very core of the school."
"Ok, so what am I gonna do?"
"Well it's going to be hard for you as you don't come from nobility, the first step is always to stay near me when we're in public."
"W-what why!" My cheeks blushed at that notion, it kinda feels emasculating to hear that as if I were some kid.
"Doing so would prevent the others from trying any funny business with you, they would see a subtle message that if they mess with you they'll mess with me."
"Got it," I nodded.
"Secondly try to not start any more fights with the others, pretend to play nice at the very least," Hearing that made me frown.
"Hana I'm sorry to say this, but I won't stand for some guy hurting someone else."
"Now lastly don't show any fear, it is an apt comparison some nobles are like predators, the moment you show any weakness they'll ripe you to pieces."
"Ok got I think I'm ready," After hearing all of that it sounded pretty easy, to be honest.
We went inside, there were about a dozen students in the class. Each one is already in their small circles talking to one another. Unfortunately, the door opening made a loud noise gaining all of their attention.
Seeing this I wanted to hide in my room. It was pretty amazing how Hana was confidently taking this, it was like there weren't thousands of eyes watching them. Well, maybe she had done this hundreds of times and got used to it by now.
The layout of the classroom was similar to a college classroom, with circular dark color wooden tables forming a C-shape,d and near the front center was a white podium where the teacher would be. Behind the podium was a giant blackboard that spread across the wall.
As we walked in the room I could hear their whispering.
"So she's from the Von Yue family."
"She looks beautiful up close."
"She is one of the only people in Arcane Academy's history to slay a Greater Demon."
Hearing all these praises made Hana beam in pride.
"It's the Bloodied Survivor."
"What is a commoner doing by the side of Hana Von Yue!"
"He's lucky to be friends with Hana Von Yue."
I couldn't help but feel deflated hearing all those comments about me. As we were about to sit down the door opened and walked in Avoure along with his teammates. "Maverick, stay close."
Walking a few feet into the room he looked straight at us. "I see a disgusting vermin here."
Then he turned to Hana giving her a smirk. "Well, how delightful my fianceé is. In the same class with me, truly we are meant to be."
The only thing I thought was this was gonna suck.
