Chapter 12 - My students are strange

"Clawplay," Seven said with a light tone to the lecturer after deciding on what Skill to reveal.

"Clawplay? That's not bad," Miss Brie seemed to let out a smile on her face after hearing that, but there was clearly not a trace of amazement this time.

Seven expected this after all because he knew that the Clawplay skill was common among almost all Vessels with claws, so he he guessed it was fine to react that way. After all, she always appeared polite and kind.

"Do you have an idea of the level of the skill? Must be F-level, right?" Miss Brie decided not to go far in inquiring about the level of the Clawplay skill since she knew that the Golden-horned Silver-furred Cat had just been vanquished. However, it was now that the amazement came.

"No, the skill is now E-level, ma'am," Seven corrected, maintaining a normal look on his face.

"What? How? Killing a Red Double-tailed Lizard wouldn't help improve a Vessel's skill. How on earth did the Skill level up?" Miss Brie was stunned despite her amazement.

It was really strange for a Vessel to get its Skill leveled up under a week of its vanquishing due to the fact that such a case hadn't been recorded since the undisputed era of Vessels and Vanquishers. Even in the Legendary Books, there was not a single page that talked about the possibility of a Vessel leveling up a skill without training.

The Legendary Books were highly valued books that held many facts about Vanquishing written by top Vanquishers with experience and research. It was said that anything that wasn't found in the Legendary Books wasn't true, and this had made Miss Brie a little anxious.

She was doubtful, judging that Seven might perhaps be having a wrong idea of what he was saying.

"We would have to bring the skill checker over to confirm this," Miss Brie suggested and turned to Rolanda who had been watching the little controversial topic.

"Alright, what about you, Rolanda?" Miss Brie asked just as she faced the young mistress.

"Its skill is Swift. It can be able to run 10km in 20 minutes, I guess... I haven't seen him do that though," Rolanda said.

"Swift is quite a good skill for a start. But having to cover ten kilometers in twenty minutes is quite astonishing. Don't tell me it's not F-level, Rolanda?" Miss Brie asked curiously with an astonished look, her eyes rolling curiously.

"The fact is... It's a C-level skill. I couldn't believe it either, but that's the truth," Rolanda clarified.

That time, Seven had also been stunned by what Rolanda said. At first, he was shocked upon hearing that the Six-legged Jaguar could cover ten kilometers in twenty minutes, but now, hearing that it was already a C-level skill made his eyes widen, his mouth agape.

Miss Brie had been stunned away to the extent that she couldn't utter a word anymore. She threw a glance on Seven after a moment, and returned to Rolanda, blinking repeatedly.

"You both have got to be kidding me."

The next moment, she stood up from the chair and walked out of the learning hall. At that moment, Seven and Rolanda exchanged looks at the same time with an awkward countenance.

"Whoa, C-level is just crazy at this stage. How did you do that?" Seven couldn't help but ask, not trying to guess that Rolanda had a system...

"It wasn't my doing, trust me. I just discovered that the skill was C-level after the vanquishing. I was also stunned as well," Rolanda explained.

"Ahh... That's strange you know?" He forced a slight smile and said.

"Don't act like yours ain't strange too... It was clear that no Vessel could level up a skill without practice, so we are in this together," Rolanda glared slightly and spoke.

Seven hesitated and nodded at her speech, believing that she was right. Now he only wondered what was in Miss Brie's mind at that moment. He knew that she didn't believe a bit of what they just said, and the skill checker machine would only be the prover.

"I wonder what she is thinking... Perhaps we just are some aliens born in the human world," Rolanda shrugged and said.

"Ahh, that's you thinking too much. She just wants to confirm and that's all. I don't think we will be nailed for this anyway," Seven believed.

As they kept conversing, Miss Brie stepped into the learning hall with an object that looked like a stethoscope. On one end was a flat platform that had a soft surface, and on the other was a small screen that certainly showed the results of the checking.

It was the skill-checking machine.

"Alright. Seven, you first," Miss Brie commanded, and Seven quickly stood up to receive the detection.

Miss Brie walked over and placed the flat surface on his left palm; then a red light appeared on the screen on the other side.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

The detection took a few seconds before the red light was replaced with a green one... The beeping sound ended as well.

[Skill: Clawplay (E-level).]

After observing the result, Miss Brie finally believed what he had said. Although she was stunned, she tried to act stone-hearted and moved to Rolanda.

"Your turn."

Rolanda opened her palms and got the flat surface of the skill-checking machine placed on her palms.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

[Skill: Swift (C-level).]

At that instant, her eyes broadened as he found it hard to believe what she just saw. Indeed, Rolanda was right, but this was undoubtedly strange!!!

If it had been only one student who possessed such a strange Vessel, she would have concluded that the student was special and blessed. However, there were two students who both had Cat-type Vessels.

Her students.

Even other stronger Vessels of different types never had such a shocking improvement after weeks of training in the university, but her students Vessels' skills had begun leveling up even before they got to the university.

That was strange, and she only wondered how strong these Vessels would become in the future. It was a very promising revelation for them, even though the Cat-type Vanquishers were the most underrated figures in Terraverde.

Taking back the skill-checking machine to the university's equipment room, Miss Brie shook her head in disbelief, muttering...

"My students are strange."
