Chapter 16 - The Ultima Store

The students went ahead to the identity registration office with their lecturer to get their Vessels' identities registered, and they also got theirs registered as well.

In Terraverde, one had to get a National Identity to enhance the solidarity of their patriotism to their nation. It was more like making yourself more of a part of the nation, and as well, the beginning of your journey as an official Vanquisher.

Plus, every Vessel needed to be identically registered as well, as they were now part of the nation after being vanquished.

The registration didn't take long before they were done, and Seven took his identity card together with Whisky's and left with his course-mate, Rolanda.

Rolanda also had the Six-legged Jaguar's identity card with her as well...

Miss Brie had told them to return to their rooms after the registration, as they were already done for the day... It was visibly afternoon already, which was the right time for students to dismiss learning.

When they progressed to the dormitory, Seven and Rolanda decided not to stay silent all through.

"Your Cat, it's awesome," Rolanda complimented with a slight smile.

"Thanks. Yours is superb as well... I mean, that's a great speed it's got," Seven had to acknowledge her Jaguar's skill as well.

Rolanda only shrugged it off and responded with an indifferent look.

"Well, it's so bad that she is getting that skill as her first. It should have been an attack skill."

She had a slightly disappointed look on her face as she said that, and Seven sensed the sadness in her.

"Ah! You don't have to think that way... No skill is useless, and every one of them comes at the right time. You might get to see the importance of it soon," he had to say this.

Rolanda only nodded and continued walking.

"And most importantly, when it grows, it can be a fast transport factor for you. Perfect for an escape!" Seven smiled again.

"Well, I don't want to be an escape rat, I want to be a fighter... A warrior," Rolanda suddenly said with a serious tone, wiping out the smile on Seven's face.

With a shake, he didn't say any other word and continued walking. When they got to the dormitory, they both went separate ways as Seven entered his room.

Seven managed to let out a "Bye."

However, Rolanda only shook her head and disappeared into her room.

...

"Sigh..."

Seven sat on the bed and stretched out. He had been wanting to get back to his room since the moment he gained 30 Ultima Coins... He had unlocked the Ultima Store after several days of waiting impatiently!

He had no idea what stuff he could possibly get in the Ultima Store, and this had driven him to check in haste.

"System, can I access the Ultima Store now?" Seven asked.

[Ultima Store access requested...]

[Access granted.]

[You have opened the Ultima Store for the first time, 20 Ultima Coins gained.]

Suddenly, Seven saw a large list of texts on the system screen, driving his eyes around. He quickly tried to be attentive and began to read.

[Ultima Store — Menu:

[Skill shop.]

[Art shop.]

[Portion shop.]

[Weapon shop.]

[Others.]

"Well, these words aren't new to me. But I have no idea what is in there," Seven scratched the back of his head as he muttered.

At first, he clicked on the [Skill shop] after a moment of hesitation.

[Skill shop — Menu:

[Skill Enhancement shop.]

[Skill Acquiring shop.]

"Err...? Another option?" Seven eyes dilated a little. He was now driven to ask the system some questions before doing what he wasn't supposed to. This was the first time he was visiting the Ultima Store, and it was better he sought guidance.

At least, for this first time.

"System, what do these two mean?" He flinched and asked.

[Skill Enhancement Shop Description: In this shop, you can purchase any skill book that can help you improve your skills or your Vessel's skills.]

[Skill Acquiring Shop Description: Here, you can purchase new skills with Ultima Coins. Any skill at all.]

"WHOA, nice!" Seven couldn't help but smile.

What was more interesting than having a store where he could actually purchase skills?

With getting more Ultima Coins, he already knew that he could get as many skills as he wanted!

"Ahh, okay..."

He quickly clicked on the Skill Acquiring shop at first as he was eager to see what the shop had got.

*CLICK*

[Skill Acquiring Shop — Menu:

[F-level skills.]

[E-level skills.]

[D-level skills.]

[C-level skills.]

[B-level skills.]

[A-level skills.]

[S-class skills.]

[SS-level skills.]

[SSS-level skills.]

With a smile on his face, Seven looked past all the skills above and clicked on the SSS-level skills menu.

[SSS-level skills:

[1. Skill Name: Invisibility.]

[Fit for: Vanquishers.]

[Skill Usage: The ability to become invisible like air when activated. When activated, no one can see you.]

[Price: 1 Billion Ultima Coins.]

"What the heck?!!" Seven was forced to scream out loud upon getting his eyes on the price of the [Invisibility] skill, his heart beating hard in his chest.

"I'm just having fifty Ultima Coins with me, and this is one billion???"

At one point he couldn't believe his eyes. He didn't know when he left the Skill Acquiring shop and entered the Skill Enhancement Shop due to shock.

This was actually what made him visit the store. He wanted to know how he could help Whisky improve the other skills because he wouldn't reveal them to his lecturer.

The Luminous Whiskers and the Copycat skills...

When he clicked on the Skill Acquiring shop, two menus popped up on the screen.

[Skill Acquiring Shop — Menu:

[Actual Skill Books.]

[Absorbable Skill Books.]

"Ahh, absorbable?" He wondered.

However, he discovered later on that the Actual Skill Books were just like the Clawplay Improvement Theory Book which a Vessel could train and practice to learn. However, the Absorbable Skill Books were books that a Vessel could absorb. When they absorb this book, they will gain full knowledge of whatever it had taught about.

Seven found this totally easy, and preferable. But the smile that appeared on his face suddenly vanished after knowing that the Absorbable Skill Books were more expensive.

[Luminous Whiskers Improvement Book.]

[Fit for: Cat-type Vessels.]

[Skill Book Usage: Helps to improve the Luminous Whiskers Skill after absorption.]

[Price: 10-1000 Ultima Coins. (Progression varying).]

After checking the overall description, Seven came to discover the progression varies for the price. For instance, if he purchased the book with 10 Ultima Coins, Whisky would only get 1% progression in the skill. But, if he purchased the book with 1000 Ultima Coins, Whisky would get a direct 100% progression, landing it to evolving the skill.

Seven shook his head. "Too expensive."

With a dark face, he decided to purchase the skill book with 30 Ultima Coins, as he wanted to improve the Copycat skill as well.

[You have successfully purchased the Luminous Whiskers Skill Book. (Absorbable).]

[30 Ultima Coins have been deducted from your account.]

[Your Vessel, Whisky has absorbed the Luminous Whiskers Skill Book. (Absorbable).]

[Your Vessel, Whisky has gained 3% progression in his Skill, Luminous Whiskers.]

[Skill Not Evolved. Get 97% more progression to this skill to evolve it.]

Seven glared at the system screen as it revealed these.

Now he knew...

There was much to do, and much to achieve!
