Chapter 5 - Hope

The vision is of a Demigem in complete chaos. Houses on fire, blood on the ground. Amidst the astonishment, a metallic slime attacks him. Disoriented, but quick, Gachuti delivers a vertical cut with his sword.

"How is this destroying the village?!"

His gaze fixes on the slime that regenerates easily, however, when observing his own sword, a small crack can be perceived. Another slime attacks him, he dodges while shouting "Freezing Fire". Gachuti delivers another cut, however, he is hit by another attack, throwing him against a house.

"Damn it... There are too many... I need to concentrate!"

A lightness is felt on his feet and from the darkness of the ruined house, a glow appears and, with a speed, disappears.

"Sustained drive!!!"

Shortly after the impulse, formed by spheres of air, the blade of the sword moves like a beautiful dance and, with a speed, slices dozens of cores. However, Gachuti's concentration is broken by an agonizing scream and, looking to discover the cause, his eyes can see a child's body thrown on the ground, with its chest pierced by a slime.

"What?!"

Many more slimes jumped in his direction to attack, as he had been distracted.

"DAM... N... IT!!!"

As the voice of hatred spread to every corner of the chaotic village, finally reality, Gachuti accepted.

"If you want it that way..."

The slimes that were a few centimeters from Gachuti fall with their cores cut and a dark aura enveloped in darkness explodes, like a curtain of smoke that is around Gachuti.

"Fragmented darkness."

From the cyan flames that enveloped the blade of the sword, a darkness was born, which caused the metal that was gray to darken. Despite this, the aura that enveloped him dissipates.

"No, not now!"

Flashback 5 months ago.

In the forest that covers a large part of the surroundings of Demigem, a group of students can be seen, with Elder Thijou teaching.

"Gachuti, pay attention!"

"What? Rosary?"

"Pay attention to what grandpa is explaining."

In the middle of the group was Gachuti and Rosary sitting on stones like the others, for no apparent reason, a leaf lands on Gachuti's forehead, which Rosary tries to remove, however, when they notice, the whole group is looking at them, including Thijou.

"The young people could tell me... What are you doing?"

"No, no, nothing, Elder Thijou..." - Gachuti replies.

Thijou stares at them, as he prepares to pronounce something.

"In this forest... anything can kill them and the young people talk distractedly."

In a surprise to both, an enormous pressure falls on them and, next to Gachuti, is a white-furred wolf, with red eyes and a flower symbol; next to Rosary, a black-furred she-wolf with golden eyes and the same symbol.

"Ahh..."

"Ru... Rud... Rudh sen..."

Everyone in the place is startled and surprised by the wolves, with a tap of his cane on the ground, Thijou's voice brings order again.

"Return now."

Like shadows, the wolves dissolve and return to Thijou's shadow.

"They were Elder Thijou's storm wolves."

"I saw Rugh, they're badass."

"Isn't it?"

"Silence now. Back to class, magic is divided into 6 elements: fire, water, light, earth, darkness, and air. Each element must be used with decency."

"I'm sure the half-demon will become like..."

"Shhh, don't talk about him."

Gachuti bows, with a sad expression. Rosary takes his hand.

"Rosary?"

"It's okay, I'm here."

A smile appears on Gachuti's face and he rests his head on Rosary. Thijou watches the scene with a smile and continues the class.

Demigem, one in the morning.

"It's for Thijou and Rosary that I must continue." The aura of darkness intensifies.
