"Miss Sasha, Sire." the guard announced and ushered her into the dining room. This time, Orion hadn't started yet and was calmly seated, waiting for her to take a seat as well. Due to his earlier outburst, Sasha stayed clear of him, sitting at her usual seat opposite him all the way at the other end of the dinner table. Orion signalled the maids positioned around the table, and they quickly rushed to serve them both with light and impeccable movements.
They both ate their entire dinner in absolute silence. Unable to stand the awkward atmosphere any longer, Sasha placed the cutlery aside, wiped her mouth with a napkin, and proceeded to excuse herself. "Excuse me." she stood up, straightening her clothes. "Wait!" Orion stopped her. "What now?" she thought to herself exasperatedly. She had had enough chiding for one day and didn't need any more. He stood up abruptly, sending the chair careening backwards. He began to make his way towards her, apprehensive Sasha clutched the chair behind her. "Can we talk?" Three simple words came out of his mouth.
The cool evening breeze swept against Sasha's face. It would have been a very enjoyable one if not for Orion's overbearing and imposing presence in front of her. After a minute of silence, Orion finally spoke. "I'm sorry for what went on back at the Petalhaven. I admit I overreacted." Sasha scanned his face for any sincerity. This constant back and forth between them was really complicating matters. Especially since he was her best ticket out of here and back home. If only he was more level-headed and empathetic...
Orion really wasn't used to apologizing to anyone in his life. With the exception of his mother, he couldn't remember expressing remorse of any form to any other person. He didn't like this one bit. Sasha was very stubborn, loud, and very...unlady-like. It also didn't help that she was in the body of Lorianne Von Leam, the most loathed woman in the entire Empire. Sasha decided to be magnanimous and accept his insincere apology. "Can you tell me exactly why you're so protective of those flowers? Do they have any special significance to you?" her inquisitive nature took over once again.
