Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Class Rank

Before Dayn said anything, Argus kicked him in the stomach, and Dayn was thrown against the wall and passed out.

Bam!

"You basta—!"

Argus also kicked the goons beside Dayn before they could react, and they all hit the wall like Dayn and passed out. All the students around were shocked. They did not see how Argus moved and only saw Dayn's group fly into the wall and pass out, except for one, and that was Rex.

"What happened? I just turned around and that happened."

"He beat Dayn's group easily, and it was so fast."

"Is Argus that strong?"

"Tsk, he just caught them off guard. If Dayn was prepared, I bet it would have led to a different outcome."

"Let's go, Rex." (Argus)

Rex, looking at the unconscious group, followed Argus while shaking his head.

"Why did you provoke this devil? I hope you learned your lesson." (Rex)

The news spread quickly; many were shocked, some were skeptical, and some were jealous. The jealous students tried to challenge Argus, but he just ignored them. Some of these students crossed the line Argus had set, and he taught them a lesson. Dayn was a victim many times.

Argus's rank rose since even the top students in their class crossed the line he set just to challenge him, but they all were defeated. When Argus reached the top five, no one crossed the line he had set again. Even Dayn did not do it, but he still continued badmouthing Argus.

The students tried to guess who was stronger between Rex and Argus. They asked Rex since he was more approachable than the others.

"Of course, I'm stronger. I can beat him with my feet tied."

Argus heard it but just rolled his eyes.

{Back to the Present}

Now that Dayn had awakened, as if he were back to his old self, he wanted to challenge Argus to a duel. He was just about to attack Argus when the teacher at the podium spoke.

"Good afternoon, everyone. Please refrain from fighting in the auditorium, or else the principal will not let you graduate."

"Tsk... You're lucky, peasant." (Dayn)

"Idiot." (Rex)

Argus ignored him and just sat down as if nothing had happened. Dayn heard Rex, but he did not look back. He just clenched his hands tightly and went back to his seat.

"What a pity."

"We were just about to see a good show."

"The teacher is a killjoy."

The students murmured. After that, the teacher welcomed the principal. The principal gave a half-hour speech and congratulated all the students, especially the Special Class Awakeners and the three Unique Awakeners, which were Dayn, Rex, and Argus. Dayn wanted to provoke Argus even when they were on stage, but Argus just ignored him.

"Now you only have a month to prepare for the Academy Entrance of the academy of your choice. You eight stay for a while and go to my office after this."

After that, all of them were dismissed. The eight—Dayn, Rex, Argus, and the five Special Awakeners—went to the principal's office as they were told and waited for the principal to arrive. Dayn, like the angry bull he was, tried to provoke Argus, but this time Rex intervened.

"Can you shut up for a minute? I am full of your crap already. Let's fight if you dare." (Rex)

"Hmph." (Dayn)

Dayn naturally did not want to accept the challenge. He was not afraid of Rex since they were both Unique Class Awakeners now. He just did not want to get on his bad side because of his background.

Not long after, the principal entered the room.

"Cough... cough... I called you here to tell you that many institutions invited you to enter their academy. This includes the most prestigious academy in Vesmir, the Holy Hunter Academy." (Principal)

"That's only natural since I am a Unique Awakener after all." (Dayn)

The principal ignored Dayn and continued.

"Here's the list of the academies that invited you. We sorted them in descending order from the most prestigious. Take this list and please tell me tomorrow which academy you want to enter." (Principal)

"I can't wait until tomorrow. Of course, I will go to the Holy Hunter Academy. I think that's also the choice of the other two, isn't that right?" (Dayn)

"I decided to enroll at the Arcana Hunter Academy from the start, and nothing has changed. How about you, Argus?" (Rex)

"That's also my plan." (Argus)

The Special Class Awakeners also voiced their opinions.

"Sigh... Of course. Well then, here's the token for each of the academies that you want. That's all. I advise you to reach at least level 25 and reach the Core Forging Realm before the entrance examination at the academy so you will have a higher chance of entering. That's all I'm going to say, and be careful out there." (Principal)

"Hmph, it looks like I'm not going to be saying goodbye to you two." (Dayn)

Dayn just snorted and left. Argus and Rex, on the other hand, bowed their heads slightly to the principal before they left as a sign of respect.

"Where are you going?" (Rex)

"Weapon shop." (Argus)

"Then let's go to the black market. I do not have any other plans anyway." (Rex)

Then the two entered Rex's limousine. Rex asked his driver to take them to the black market. Rex then noticed the confused look on Argus's face after the car started moving.

"What are you thinking about?" (Rex)

Argus did not answer immediately but just stared at his Status Window.

"Is your class an Unawakened Class?" (Argus)

Rex was shocked at first, then a smile appeared on his face.

"So you're also one of those, huh? As expected of my friend. Wait, don't give that look. I will tell you something. This is a big secret for the big families, but I will tell you anyway since you're my best friend." (Rex)

Argus just nodded.

"Unique Class, as the name says, is the only class existing in the Vesmir World. No one can have the same class as your job class as long as you're alive. Well, there are exceptions. Unique Class is, of course, also divided into strong and weak, but a weak Unique Class holder possesses unique skills that other classes do not have." (Rex)

"They say that there are four ranks of job classes: Unique, Special, Elite, Normal. But there is a case where the job classes of any class have 'Unawakened' written beside their class. Every class can undergo another class Awakening, and the rank of their class will rank up. For us Unique Class Holders, it will become an Unranked Class." (Rex)

"This class is called as such since the class can undergo a second awakening that gives a big boost to the class holder. However, it is very hard to undergo a second awakening since every class has different types of conditions to be awakened again. Their class will be called 'True Class' after being awakened." (Rex)

"For example, if the predecessor of my class, even if we have the same Class Job and I did what he did in the past to awaken my 'True Class,' it will not happen again. To awaken your 'True Class' is a matter of luck and chance. There are also Unranked Skills, by the way, but unlike Job classes, they will not undergo Awakening again since an Unranked Skill is basically the pinnacle version of a skill. To tell you the truth, I awakened an Unranked Skill myself. Hehehe." (Rex)

A smug look appeared on his face, but Argus ignored it.

"Lastly, they say that the holder of the True Classes are one of the Chosen Ones. There are still other things that I do not know about, but that's all I know since my father forbids me from reading those texts since I'm still weak." (Rex)

Argus then pondered Rex's explanation and agreed.

'So that's the reason my innate skills have no level since they are basically at max level, huh. However, there is no description included in my unranked skills.' (Argus)

Argus muttered. Not long after, their ride stopped, and they reached their destination. Well, not far from their destination. They stopped at a considerable distance from the black market so they would have time to hide their identities. The black market is a dangerous place, so they need to have disguises before entering.

Even Rex, who was part of a big family, was not an exception. Although his background was a big deterrent to those criminals, it was also a big temptation for them. Rex, as part of a big family, of course, had an item that could disguise them.

Name: Shrouding Cloak Rank: Special (Initial) Category: Consumable Effect: Used to hide the information of the user from appraisal skills. One-time-use item. Duration: 1 hour

Then they wore masks to cover their faces. After that, the two entered the black market. The two walked calmly through the black market. The black market was quieter than a normal market because anyone did not know who the people walking on the street were. Everyone was cautious not to offend anyone here, or they might hit the jackpot and just die without knowing how.

Both Rex and Argus were not new to the black market in their area, so they easily navigated the streets.
