Argus walked leisurely in the direction of the South Gate. Many Awakeners were also starting to return. Argus saw many Awakeners of his age returning, just like him.
"I am now level 5."
"I am level 6, hahaha."
"If we keep leveling like this, won't we reach Lv. 25 and enter the Mana Core Forging Realm before the entrance exam?"
"Tsk, as if that's easy. Did you know that it's easy to level up until level 5 since the exp we get from killing monsters is based on their level, which is 5 exp, right?"
"Yeah."
"Monsters from Lv. 6-15 will be harder to deal with. You can think of Lv. 0-5 monsters as creatures that were just born, so they don't know much about how to fight. Starting from Lv. 6, monsters will utilize their skills wisely; although they won't be perfect, at least they won't be passively taking damage like the Lv. 0-5 monsters, so we need to be more careful while hunting."
"Plus the Realm Rank Up Quest needs to be completed. Have you forgotten about it?"
"What? I didn't know that!"
"Me neither."
"That's because you two are always sleeping when the teacher discusses!"
"Hahahaha."
Argus raised his eyebrows slightly when he heard their conversation. Everything that guy said was correct. That is why the difference between a genius and someone mediocre in combat will be evident when the entrance exam comes, since enemies from Lv. 6-25 will put up more of a fight than just passively getting hit.
'It will be more interesting that way. My goal for today is just to test my strength against the beasts, and tomorrow we can start the real hunting,' Argus thought.
A smirk appeared on his face. Argus suddenly increased his walking pace, heading straight to the Adventurer's Guild to submit his task. Of course, he was using his 'Fallen' identity.

He received 2,000 Vesmir Coins. Although it was a small amount, his purpose was training and leveling, so it did not matter. Argus could earn more money if he ranked up and completed higher-ranked missions. Argus went outside to remove his disguise. He then remembered that he had no place to sleep, so he returned to the receptionist.
"Ms. Receptionist, do you happen to know any inns where I can sleep?" Argus asked.
"You can call me 'Miffy.' As for your question, let's see..." Miffy replied.
Miffy looked at a notebook and started murmuring.
'That inn is already full, also that one... Ah, here it is...'
"There is a rental room just near the North Gate. I don't know if they'll accept you, though. Here are the directions; you can follow this map. Take this map; it's free anyway. I will also contact the residents of the house and inform them about you," Miffy said.
Argus bowed his head as a sign of thanks and took the map that Miffy gave him. He also planned to stroll around Stred City this weekend, so a map would be helpful. He followed the directions and found himself in front of a two-story luxurious house.
'Huh? Is this really it? Is the map wrong?' Argus thought.
Before Argus could think of anything else, he heard a noise coming from inside the house.
"No, I do not accept it. Why do we need to have another person here? Isn't it enough for the two of us, and that is a man?" Argus heard a woman's voice.
"It's just temporary, until we're accepted at the Academy. Or do you want the owner of this house to banish us?" Argus heard another voice, which came from a man. It seemed like the two were arguing.
"Humph... We wouldn't be arguing about this if you had removed the rental advertisement in the Guild. Why didn't you just rent the whole house for ourselves? This wouldn't happen if Grandpa had released us earlier," the woman said.
"The owner did not want that. She specifically said that if we wanted to rent the whole house, all three rooms must have a guest, or she wouldn't rent it out to us. She also gave us a deadline until 8:00 PM today. The deadline is approaching. You didn't want other people to know that you're already here, so I thought of making that ad to look for another guest," the man replied.
"As for Grandpa, forget it... He, no 'they,' just dote on you too much. You know that this is the only rental house we found, right? Alright, we can just meet the guest, and if you don't want him, we can't just reject him," the man continued.
'Hey, I can hear you two. Tsk,' Argus thought.
Argus was annoyed by what the woman was saying and did not have a good impression of her.
It looked like the two had come to a consensus. The door opened, and Argus was greeted by a beautiful young woman and a handsome man. The young woman had a stunning face with waist-length white hair and luminous golden eyes. Her skin was pale, almost translucent, giving her an ethereal glow. The young man had short white hair and golden eyes. They both looked like twin siblings.
What shocked Argus were not their beautiful appearances but the pair of elegant, long, white, deer-like horns on their heads.
'They're not demons since a demon possesses curvy horns. Demi-humans? No, they do not possess tails. Don't tell me...'
Before Argus could come to a conclusion, he was interrupted by the woman.
"See this? Aren't you just a pervert? And you, why are you staring at me? Is this your first time seeing a beautiful lady?" the woman asked.
Argus's face started twitching. This was the first time someone had called him a pervert. He did not understand why this woman could get on his nerves so easily.
"Do not say that, Sister. Anyone would be surprised when seeing us, especially our horns. It's our first time coming out after that incident," the man said.
The young man then looked at Argus.
"Hello, mister. I am Kelvin Arisia, and this is my twin sister, Astelle Arisia. Nice to meet you," Kelvin said.
"Argus Orpheus. I'm here to rent one of the rooms. The receptionist said so. She also mentioned that she contacted the owner of the house," Argus replied.
"No, we do not want to rent the house. Just find other hotels. I do not want a pervert inside the house," Astelle insisted.
Argus merely looked at her slightly and then turned his head to Kelvin. He did not want to argue with her, as her brother seemed more reasonable. Seeing Argus ignore her, Astelle was visibly annoyed.
"Hmph," Astelle huffed.
"Sister, calm down. I'm sorry; it's just that my sister is having a bad day, so she is acting like this. Normally, she is cheerful, but many annoying things have happened to her. Anyway, do you want to rent the other room?" Kelvin asked.
"Yes. The hotels on this side of the city are fully booked, and I do not have time to go to the other side to find a place to sleep," Argus replied.
Astelle wanted to say more, but her brother Kelvin looked at her, causing her to stop.
"Then we will gladly take you. Let's talk inside," Kelvin said.
Argus nodded, and they entered the house.
"Please sit here and make yourself at home; it's not our house anyway. And you, Sister, please behave. If they find out you're acting like this..." Kelvin warned.
Astelle looked at Argus and rolled her eyes. Argus saw this and ignored her.
'This woman is unreasonable.'
"Hmph, I know," Astelle replied.
Not long after, someone knocked on the door.
"It should be the owner of the house. I will open it," Kelvin said.
Then an old lady entered.
"Hello, siblings. Has a new tenant arrived, or is he already here?" the old lady asked.
"Yes, there he is," Kelvin replied.
The old lady looked in the direction Kelvin was indicating and saw Argus, then she smiled.
"Each of you needs to pay 150,000 VC for renting the house for a month," the old lady said.
"Ye—" Kelvin began.
"No, I object. Grandma, can we rent all the rooms or the whole house for just the two of us? I do not want a stranger living with me. We can double, no, triple the payment," Astelle interjected.
"Sister, what are you saying?" Kelvin asked.
The old lady looked at the two and shook her head. Argus was really annoyed this time and was about to leave when the old lady spoke again.
"Young lady, that is not possible. I do not have much use for such a large amount of money. As you can see, I am old now. I know that many youngsters are coming here to enroll at the Academy. All hotels and inns are probably full now. I ask you to find another tenant so someone can have a place to rest. If you do not want him to be here, then I can only send you two siblings out and find another tenant to live here," the old lady explained.
Astelle, hearing this, stopped talking. She then realized that she was being unreasonable.
"I'm sorry, Grandma, for being unreasonable. We want to stay here." (Astelle)
"Do not apologize to me but to this young man here." (Old lady)
The old lady was referring to Argus. Hearing what the grandma said, Astelle turned to face Argus. She then bowed her head.
"I'm sorry..." (Astelle)
