That day I woke up early. I did not know well Mr Hausara, but my brother trusted him, and there were not many people who enjoyed this privilege, so it seemed right to behave myself. He owned a vegetable garden, he did not sell them, simply, he fed himself, and with him his wife. I decided to help him, so he would not be disturbed while working with my brother.
He offered us a room upstairs to share with three people. To go down the stairs, we had to go through the main hall. Lord Bryce was here again today. Fortunately I was properly dressed.
«Good morning, Lord Bryce. Are you still reading "Time of Vices and Virtues?"» I asked naively.
«Good morning, young Eimin. You have almost remembered the name, "Thoughts and Virtues of the time" to be precise.» He said while sitting down.
«I understand. But don't you get tired of reading so much?» I asked.
«What a sudden question. Absolutely not. Tell me, miss, have you ever tried to read a book?» He asked.
«Unfortunately no. My parents left us when we were really young, I had to learn manual work from childhood, and I neglected the study, I learned recently to read. It's already a good step that I can speak fluently.» I said.
«I understand. Why don't you sit here? I can teach you something new.»
Without talking, I took a seat near the Lord. He began to read. I must admit that I did not understand the meaning of those words, but to be said by a mind which seemed so wise made them almost sound with a sense. More or less, on every page, he stopped, and explained to me what the writer meant, paraphrasing everything. While he was reading, a sentence get stuck in my mind:
"What regulates the life of man, civilization, progress, is justice. Desired and repudiated, it is the only element that can put a brake on the aspiration of a powerful or the madness of an unbalanced. Justice is not something abstract, but resides in every living being, and it is what brings them together. Without it, man would never have reaped the fruits of his own work, and he would not have entered into relations with other living beings. When this fails, the aspiration and imbalance no longer have a brake, giving rise to a crazy descent: the cataclysm.
The only way for man to avoid this fall into oblivion is to become a hunter, who has justice as his prey".
If memory serves, this is the complete one.
I asked Lord Bryce what those words meant:
You know, young Eimin, justice is the only regulating force that can oppose the most powerful of warriors. But, for whatever reason, it always fails. According to you, why?» He surprised me with this question.
«Egoism.» I answered.
«Egoism? It's not the definition I was looking for, not that it is wrong, on the contrary. The interpretation is free. I like yours. Tell me, young Eimin, do you believe in love at first sight?» He surprised me again.
«... I don't think I've ever experienced it, but in my opinion love is something that takes hold over time. Don't you believe it?» I tried to answer.
«Not bad. I find it superlative the way you try to avoid superficiality in the words that you pronounce, young Eimin...
By the way, please warn your brother that Avaloria is not going to stop. Soon, it could go on the offensive against Shiitia or Triosa itself.»
He rose to greet me, and went down the stairs. If only they were all as well-behaved as he was...
Later, on the same day, twenty men arrived, called by Mr Hausara. According to him, they would be "rebel" soldiers, tired of following the directives of a monarch so incapable, and that would help my brother become king of Triosa.

The day before the revolt, the next day, arrived. Thanks to Lord Bryce, who in this context had the function of Shipher, we were able to come to know the ways by which the revolt would happen. In the center-west square of Triosa would gather as many citizens as possible, armed. First they would go to two prisons near the monarch's castle, to free the previously imprisoned revolts, then to assault the kingdom's chancellery, finally to the castle itself, where I would kill the king. Of course, The king was aware of this revolt, and would not hesitate to set up an army to stop our advance. It was likely that the crowd would be opposed by some of the king's soldiers, so I decided to participate actively. With my great strength, just as I did in the battle with Cromelia, I would have been at the head of the revolting army, but not in the front row, arrows could come from one moment to another, so I would place myself among the citizens. Although I had a very resistent armor and helmet, I preferred not to risk my life.
The special team provided by Hausara, however, would block the monarch's escape routes in case he decided to escape; so I asked that he had to be captured and delivered alive, to me, if he had any intention of escaping. If he had managed to escape, we could have declared him dead, but it would not have had the same effect. In any case, the only way this could have been a failure was my death, and that was not a factor to exclude. I made sure that, at least this time, Eimin would not take part in the revolt. She would spend time, that we would have used to complete the revolt, at Lord Bryce's house, those two seemed to get along very well. Also, the Lord had helped us a lot, I could trust him. Perfected the plan, the next day we would be ready to change the fate of Triosa, and so of Aostra.
