I thought I had understood what had happened...
When our parents left us alone, I was 17, already working in my forge. During a plague spread, which hit our city, money was running low, and no one had the financial resources to buy the weapons and armour I forged. At that moment, I don't know what grace has assisted me, but a gentleman recognized my great strength, he was also a friend of my father's, and had decided to help me. He was a former general of Tenebria, at that time the fractions of Avaloria were in perpetual war. He offered me to join one of the army battalions in exchange for a large sum of money. I accepted without telling Eimin. For two years I fought for Tenebria. I had to tell her she could not come with me to the forge. For eight hours a day she was alone at home. When I returned, I saw her full of joy. It was not easy to leave her as I did, she was just a child. At least, I was able to bring enough money to get food and water. I didn't like the idea of fighting, much less doing so, but I was forced. All those days were just a training course, only once I participated in a real battle:
It was on the border between Darkness and Metikia, I don't know why it started, and honestly I don't even care, it was the last of my thoughts, as it was at that moment. I tried my best but, seeing people die... It didn't feel good. But when I thought this was all for my sister, I kept those atrocities out of my mind. We won that battle, although with heavy losses. I returned home that day, Eimin, seeing me, burst into tears and said while hugging me:
"What happened, big brother? Why are you full of blood? Don't leave me you too".
I looked at my hands, arms and legs, I was bloody, bruised, tired. I looked like a corpse. The next day I reached the forge, and laid down my sword.
