Aeris' POV:
I had very little to no sleep that night as I stayed on the bed thinking about those 30 wishes he asked from me. I couldn't even think of 1 wish.I have never been interested in a relationship so I don't even know who my type of man is or what I want in a relationship.
Maybe that's because I've been too busy going on missions that I didn't think about my personal life.
I've been in the spy organisation for six years now. We secretly fight crime by gathering evidence on mafia groups and handing them over to the government.It's a very risky job and many don't come back alive.
I'm trustworthy and good at my job so that explains why they gave me this mission. The Vipers are the most secretive and dangerous mafia in G city and no one dares defy them.
This mission was dangerous and staying in the same house as the enemy was even more deadly. I had to somehow get him to trust me and that might be easy if he falls for me. But I won't let him in my panties. There's no way I'm giving him my first time even if it means my death.
Another problem is how I will convince the authorities that my plan will work because they wanted him dead not the mafia destroyed. Anyway I'll think of something when I'm there.
That morning I took a quick shower and when I came back I saw a clean silk velvet dress on the bed but I didn't wear it. Instead I wore the clothes I came with cause I didn't want to give him any wrong ideas.
I headed downstairs and the butler led me to dinner hall. Clyde was already seated .
The food was like a feast prepared for 50 people with all kinds of delicacies in abundance. But I lacked the appetite to eat it cause I needed to keep my body fit and most of the meals were high in fat.
Clyde wasn't even eating so I guess it was fine.The dinner was quite awkward. We both sat in silence and looking at him I could see he was struggling to come up with something to ease the tension.
Finally he broke the silence and said "So what's your full name?"
I couldn't give away my identity so I gave a fake name. "My name is uh Lily, Lily Blossom".
"Are you sure about that" he asked.
I don't know maybe I didn't sound convincing.So I immediately said "Yes of course. I mean unless you think I have a different name. Which is impossible since you won't be asking if you already knew".
"No you are right; I won't be asking if I knew" he said.
I silently sighed in relief. I just hope he won't be asking more about me cause one thing am not good at is lying. I am used to facing villains undercover not facing them directly.
He was about to say something but I quickly interrupted him and said " Looks like it's time for me to go. I'll see you before 5pm". I quickly dashed out as if my butt was on fire.
I immediately boarded a taxi and went to the spy agency's headquarters. I went to the head spy I was assigned to and immediately bowed my head once I was in.
"I see you are back early but you came without Clyde Avellino Viper's head"Joel Cole said facing the window without looking back at me.
He is my teacher and master. He's the closest thing I have to a friend. Even though he once said he wanted to be more than just friends but I politely declined cause I didn't feel the same way.
Plus he was the boss' son and I wanted to keep my job professional. I didn't want my good name to be tainted by dating the boss' son and having people think he was the reason for my job.
He still treated me good but he has been acting distant since. He always had a sad smile on his face whenever he looked at me.
Every girl in the agency would do anything to be with him but always called people who got that chance sluts. The last girl Joel dated was framed and humiliated in public and later fired. I wouldn't like that because I worked hard to be where I am.
If I could complete this mission then I will be promoted to head spy and I won't have to see him around anymore . Am pretty sure the only reason he's sad is because I'm probably the only girl to reject him.
"I believe there are more better ways to eliminate him sir" I said to him.
"What are you suggesting other than killing him?"
"If we kill him there will always be someone to replace him; Likely more cruel because he will want to leave his mark. But the main threat is not the leader cause he is replaceable. It is the mafia. And if it's destroyed, the threat will vanish" I replied.
"That's a good idea but how do you suggest we do that?" He asked.
"By gathering evidence against them and giving the government a strong reason to destroy them" I replied.
"They are quite secretive. That's going to take years and more lives along the line".
"That's where I come in. I can get close to the boss and try to fish out information from him. He already invited me to his place and I think this is a golden opportunity to end the Vipers mafia gang" I said confidently.
"The Vipers are dangerous.You will be dead the second they find out." He said warning me.
"That's why he won't find out. Look I can do this. The fate of G city depends on whether this mafia stays or hopefully ends".I said.
He sighed and said "I guess you're right. You can go but please be careful okay"
"I will" I said trying to sound convincing but only God knows how scared I was.
Joel made me some fake IDs and secured all tracks of my real identity. So technically I was an imposter but for the good reasons.
I took a taxi to my personal apartment and gathered some few belongings as I didn't plan on staying for long. As soon as I find what I'm looking for, I'll be out of there.
When I went outside to hail a cab, I saw a silver Lamborghini aventador parked outside. As I walked past it, someone got out of the car. He had the Vipers' symbol tattooed on his arm and neck.
"Master Avellino sent us to pick you up madam" He said.
I was shocked but the cab was not coming anytime soon and the curfew was 5pm and it's 4:42. Plus it'll save me some money so of course I got in. I was just hoping things wouldn't be as worse as I pictured.
