When the moon reached its peak near midnight, the time slowed down back to normal. As Steven and Jetson walk along the street, gazing at night sky, glittering with greek alphabet shaped stars, they encounter a lemonade stand.
"The owner must be careless to leave all the stuffs on the stand. Or they just don't care about business in future. What do you say?"
"What you are seeing right now is called 'Sanboros' , the midnight lemonade. It is a lemonade stand that appeared specifically at midnight. There is not just one, but many around the world."
"How did those came into being?"
"Going back to 500th cetury, which is many laborers nightmare. Most of the countries around the world was in classless society, controlled by no one. There was once upper class people who gave orders but then they disappeared. What left was, in the abused mind of workers, they were still given commands. They were working nonstop. They could not escape their own psyche. There was nobody to control them yet they were trapped.
More roads and infrastructures were built senselessly for the sake of working continuously. Many factories were built and evantually, the world overheated. The temperature was strong enough to melt the skins. The workers were all bones and burnt but they kept working. Though they were suffering, not everyone was having bad days. or not yet. Deep in the underground, a few pieces of civilizations remained sane. They were not aware of the existence of overworked people until they noticed the increase in temperature.
These underground people had been living inside earth even before the 500th century. They were speculated to be formed during the second world ending. So yeah... when they realized the extreme temperature from the surface, they panicked and searched for the root cause. When they heard the cries of the workers, they sympathized with them and tried to offer help. But it's too hot to go near them. It was like hell up there.
So they created the structures tough enough to withstand the heat and transported them through matter transmission devices. Those structures are midnight lemonade stands. And let me tell you, these things can resist nukes. Even the core temperature of the sun cannot melt them. It's not just the toughness that played a factor. The sheer cold of the ice within the juice alone could create a bigger ice age.
When the lemonade stands touched the heat from the surface they neutralized with each other, cancelling all heats and colds, creating a room temperature environment. This extreme event was strong enough to hit the workers back into their senses. The workers from the surface thanked the underground people, creating long lasting friendship and a new tradition was created. Every midnights, the time in which the two extremities met, lemonade stands randomly appeared along with their owners.
