Chapter 39 - Chapter-37 Tsundere

Time flies,

More than a month has passed since the exciting first round of Quidditch. It was mid to late December, and Hogwarts had welcomed winter, with several feet of snow covering everything.

Kaizo had already made plans to go to Diagon Alley during the Christmas vacation to sell the debris he repaired during this period, and at the same time find a way to buy the main ingredient for Eternal Potion, at least he has to find and obtain it.

Because of this incident, he recently became interested in the subject of potions. He has been recently been trying to combine Muggle chemistry and potions, and he has gained a lot. Unlike him, as Christmas is approaching, most of the little wizards are not focusing on their studies and are eagerly looking forward towards their long holiday. The lake was covered with solid ice, and although there were roaring fires in the common rooms and Great Hall, the corridors were bitingly cold.

The worst thing for the students is that Prof.Snape's classes are all held in the underground classrooms. The cold air in the basement combined with the cold air in winter naturally makes the whole class twice as cold. During class, as soon as they took a breadth, a cloud of white mist will form in front of them, so they had to get close to the crucible.

Because Kaizo had studied potions, he was quite active in the potions class, but this did not win him the old bat's good attitude. Even though he was the first to complete the potion required by his subject syllabus, Snape was still very picky about him

"Being the first to complete the potion does not mean that you have done a good job, Mr.Grindel. You took too long to brew the Wiggenweld Potion. What do I think? If you had finished it earlier, your wounds would have already healed."

Snape took a sip of the potion with a sullen face and complained loudly.

"The potion also tastes too strong, which means that it has too many impurities. You should crush Chizpurple fangs and then squeeze it along with 2 drops of Flobberworm Mucus, Billywig sting slime through a gauze."

"As for now, I can only suggest that you put some licorice in it, and improve it's taste, otherwise even Trolls won't be willing to drink your potion."

Seeing Kaizo being treated so harshly, Steve felt a little sorry for him:"Snape must be targeting you. He didn't even think that who would brew a potion for himself when he is injured."

"Call him Prof.Snape, Steve. Although he speaks harshly, he is really teaching us some unique potion skills, which you won't be able to find in the textbook." Kaizo, on the other hand felt quite amused by his dormmates concern, and told the truth in one sentence.

"But…you were the first to finish it, and you did it so well, but you didn't even get any points." Steve was still a little unhappy.

"We came to Hogwarts just to learn more knowledge. House points are just a by product."

As Kaizo spoke, he waved his wand to crush Chizpurple fangs and squeezed it along with 2 drops of Flobberworm Mucus, and Billywig sting slime, and then squeezed it all through a gauze. Then after boiling it for 38 seconds, he added some licorice and one stewed Mandrake, and let it boil for 1 minute and 29 seconds. The juice obtained is indeed much cleaner. In addition to having less impurities and waste than before, it also doesn't have as much pungent smell.

Kaizo immediately thought of the book "The Half Blood Prince" potions textbook in the original novel. The so called Half Blood Prince is actually Snape's pseudonym. Snape wrote a lot of notes and annotations in his potion textbook, which mentioned many potion making techniques that are quite different from those which are mentioned in the book.

Harry picked up Snape's notebook and followed them, and sure enough, his grades in Potions class improved by leaps and bounds. This shows that Snaoe has been a master of potions since his student days, and many of his unique techniques are indeed very effective.

And that's what he was trying to teach Kaizo just now, but the teaching project was mixed with cynicism. There is no way, this old bat is indeed a very arrogant person.

Just like he treated Harry- on one hand, he stayed in Hogwarts as a professor specially for him, and would rather be misunderstood by Harry again and again, just to protect him. On the other hand, he was always unhappy with Harry because he is the son of James Potter.

Even if he knew that it would deepen the misunderstanding, he would still mock Harry from time to time. This directly resulted in Snape becoming an absolute evil guy in Harry's eyes, until the moment he died. He had to wait until death before Harry could realize his tenderness.

Because he knew Snape, Kaizo was able to ignore Snape's cynicism. Come to think of it, although Snape is stubborn and extreme, he still likes good students. Don't just see him behaving rudely, but he was still very honest with Kaizo and revealed some of his own secrets from time to time.

In fact, even though Steve has been complaining about Snape to Kaizo, but in the eyes of the little snakes who really knew Snape, their Head of House is treating Kaizo incredibly well. The Slytherins have discovered that although Prof.Snape often spoke to Kaizo in a bad tone, he has never really found a fault in him, and has never deducted any points from him.

They could hear that Prof.Snape's criticism of Kaizo was fundamentally different from his criticism of Harry Potter. Snape's preferential treatment of Kaizo meant that poor students like Harry and Ron were treated even worse.

There's a good saying, I could have endured the darkness if I had never seen the light.

With Kaizo in front of him, those poor students became even more unbearable in the eyes of Snape.

Whether it is Harry, Ron, Neville, or the explosion wizard Seamus, they all hate the potions class even more than before, especially after being told by Snape to remake their potions again and again until they complete these complicated potions. Of course, except for Potions, Kaizo still performed extremely well in all the other classes.

The school year is not even halfway through, and everyone already thinks that the top scorer in the final exams must be Kaizo. The second place is naturally the Know-it-all Hermione Granger.

Although she has become Kaizo's little student, but this does not prevent her from trying to catch the second place of her class. Since the troll incident, the friendship between the two has become even more closer.

In addition to after school magic tutoring, Miss-Know-It-All occasionally asks Kaizo for advice on other things. Including but not limited to the unfair treatment she encountered in Gryffindor because of her academic ability, and how stupid her "two men" were.

Even certain physiological issues have to be consulted by Kaizo. This makes Kaizo feel that he has a great responsibility. Not only did he have to be Hermione's best friend of the opposite sex, but he also has to be her friend from the same sex.

Kaizo completely believes that when in a few years when Hermione grows up and remembers her actions, she'll want to strangle her past self.

It was before the Christmas party that Kaizo was stopped by Hermione again on his way to the Great Hall.

"Kaizo, Kaizo, here!"

Next to the pine trees in the corridor, Kaizo heard Hermione's voice. Kaizo turned around and saw Hermione, Ron, Harry and Hagrid arguing under a holly tree.
