ARIANA
The elevator door slid open and the figure outside stepped inside with a deliberate slowness. I lifted my gaze to the person and I swear, time halted...
My soul stirred as I laid eyes on the most enchanting creature. He stood at around 6'3ft with an imposing presence, his chiseled features and piercing hazel eyes seems to bore me into him. His jawline was sharp...it looked like Buddha himself had taken his time to sculpt him into perfection. His dark hair resembled the night without the stars of course, styled in a sleek, polished manner that added to his intimidating aura. His physique was honed and muscular, evident even under his tailored clothes, but it was his icy gaze that truly set him apart. His eyes seemed to hold a thousand secrets, and his expression was a facade of calm.
He's even hotter than the man in my dream...he's not an angel, he's a demigod.
He exuded an air of dominance and authority...his entire demeanor demanded your attention and soon I began to feel suffocated from staying in the same room as him so I did the first thing that popped up on my mind.
"Good morning." I greeted him but his facial expression remained deadpan.
He didn't even blinked. It's like I never said a word.
'ouch...'
The air around him soon became too tensed that I couldn't even breathe properly. I was gasping...
'is he mafia?' I thought feeling chilly. 'or an assassin sent to murder someone?' I felt shiver run down my spine as the thought crossed my mind.
'maybe he's here to kill Mr. Ross, the CEO?...'
The elevator finally chimed open. Without waiting another second, I flew out of the elevator and zoomed out of the company.
"Phew..." I exhaled heavily.
*
My door echoed with a sharp 'rat-a-tat..' rousing me from my nap.
'Gawd!' I groaned in displeasure, hitting my fist on my bed before I mumbled at last. "Come in."
My door pushed open and that woman stepped in.
"Welcome, mom." I muttered audibly.
"Thought you wanted me to spread a mat outside."
I rolled my eyes at her dramatic statement. "I was sleeping when you knocked." I explained and she cackled at my response.
She suddenly paused her witchy laughter and screamed dramatically. "Oh! I'm sorry for disturbing your nap, her majesty."
I puff out air in frustration.
"Gawd! mom."
"What? Did I say something wrong?" She questioned feigning ignorance.
Not wanting any more of her trouble, I hummed. "Uh huh."
"Mmm...mmmm...mmm.." I cleared my throat after a silent moment. She just stood in front of me saying and doing nothing.
"I made dinner when i got back." I announced.
"Oh!" She exclaimed again. "Her majesty, why art thou disturb thyself?" She spoke in the Hebrew whatever...I don't know but it damn pissing me off.
'Just get the f*** outta my room, mami' were the words I wanted to scream to her face but who am I deceiving? She would literally skin me alive and eat the roasted me.
"Art thou speechless?"
I just kept mute staring at her with groggy eyes.
"I'm now your source of entertainment? Good for me." She said with sarcasm but still, I said nothing.
When she saw I was gonna say nothing, she turned around and headed for the door.
Finally! Peace.
As she placed her palm on the doorknob, she suddenly halted and turned around, facing me with a curious look on her face.
NOOOOOO!
"If I heard you correctly, you said you made dinner when you got back?" She said and I nodded.
'where's she heading?'
"Where did you go?"
"You'll find out later, mami." I answered her and her gaze turned skeptical.
"When?"
"Very soon, mami."
She thought for awhile and then nodded before she headed for the door, this time without stopping.
Finally!

It's finally Friday_Movie's day. I scrolled through the numerous list of movie waiting for me to watch on Netflix.
"Which one?" I mumbled, asking myself as I scanned through the screen of my PC.
"Hmmm...you!" I grinned, finally finding the perfect movie. "Come to momma."
Hopping off the couch, I beamed as I made way to the kitchen, picked a bowl of popcorn, a bag of chocolate candy and a bottle of smoothie from the fridge.
Finally settling on my favourite couch, I placed my PC on the table in front of me and then my babies beside me.
"Get a better job, tywysoges." My mom annoying voice intruded my moment of happiness.
"I have a job." I retorted back to her and she gasped dramatically, sauntering out of the kitchen.
"In your dreams." She taunted.
I chuckled at her remark. "I left a small surprise inside your cabinet." I told her and she immediately sauntered out of the kitchen and playfully rolled her eyes.
"Uh huh? What?"
"Find out yourself, Mami." I answered, grinning as I plugged in my earbuds.
She gazed at me for awhile before she headed straight to her room.
"One...." I slowly counted the seconds she would come flying out of her room. "Two....Three..."
"Ariana!" I heard her scream from her room and I chuckled in delight.
She swiftly darted to the parlour with my resumption letter in her hand.
"Am not dreaming, right?" She questioned, still finding it hard to believe.
"You ain't, Mami."
"Oh my gawd!" She screamed, jumping in happiness. "You did it. Oh my gosh! Baby, you got a job. At Delphine?"
"Yes, mami." I beamed wildly.
"You finally did it. My little Annwyl did it..." She sniffed and I arose from the couch and sauntered to her.
"Yes, mami." I patted her back as tears rolled down her face. "You shouldn't be crying mom."
"I'm not. They're tears of joy, Cor."
"No more tears, Mami."
"Okay." She wiped the tears off her face. "How did you get the job?"
"I submitted my CV ONLINE." I told her, emphasizing on the word 'online'.
"Ohkay, I agree ya not lazy. You know, I didn't mean those words, I was just..."
"I know. You were frustrated. Anyone would have done that, Mami and I wasn't even helping matters."
"Thank God you know." She said and we both chuckled. "Okay, I'll leave you too your..."
"Hm." I nodded and walked back to my babies.
"Want me to make anything for you?" She questioned me while I was getting ready to start the movie.
"Uh huh." I hummed shaking my head. "Am all good, mom."
"Okay, tywysoges."
"Hm." I connected my earbuds and began the movie_Bel-Air.
Perfect day!

"ARIANA!"
My eyes fluttered open and I stared dizzily at the celling...did someone shout my name? Or am I...
"Ari!" I heard my mom yell on top of her voice from the kitchen.
"Hm." I yawned lazily, stretching my hands and legs as I laid on the bed.
"Do you know what the time says?" She yelled again.
"What's my business with..." I started to say but paused as realization dawn on me.
Work!
"Ahhh..." I flew off the bed and picked my phone to check the time.
6:09
"Am roasted! How the f*** do I resume at 7?" I cried, dashing into the bathroom.
Using only five minutes, I had a rough bath and walked to my wardrobe. The clothes I was going to wear was already laying at a corner.
After wearing the turquoise shirt and black pants, I wore my black stilettos and glanced at the time.
6:39
I picked my bag and zoomed out of my room. My mom was in the kitchen preparing breakfast.
"Good morning mom." I greeted, picking a sandwich.
"Morning, Cor."
"Mom, I gotta go. I'm almost late."
"Okay, just get something to eat when ya all settle down."
"Yes, mami." I nodded, making way for the door.
"Don't be home late, okay?"
"Yes, mami." I pulled the door open.
"Don't forget to get something to eat."
"I've heard all you said. Am off!" I shut the door and ran off to the road.
"Shit! Should have called an Uber." I groaned, scrutinizing the road for an empty taxi.
A car halted in front of me and rolled down its windscreen. I immediately stepped back.
"Are you Miss. Ariana Gwen?" The driver inquired and I nodded cautiously, still not moving closer.
"Mrs. Anna hired me to give you a lift."
"Oh! Mom." My face lit up and I stepped into the car.
"Delphine, right?" The man questioned after I was seated.

Finally, settled in my new office. I shared the office with five people..three ladies and two men who introduced themselves as Ashley Clark, Jade Andrew, Gabriella Stefani, Derek Jeter, Frederick Douglass.
I was placed in the department of sales and in the position of a assistant account manager_an assistant to Miss. Clark.
Taking a deep breath, I rose from my desk and walked to Mrs. Andrew's desk, she's the sales manager and so I had to report to her.
I cleared my throat to call her attention from the file she was engrossed into.
"Oh! erm..." She gave me a contrite glance.
"Ariana Gwen." I reminded her and she smiled apologetically.
"Am sorry, your name skipped my mind." She apologized and I gave her a small smile. "So how may I be of help to you Miss. Gwen?"
"Just wanted to submit these." I placed the file on her desk and she gasped in disbelief.
"Wait, don't tell me these are the accounts I gave to you this morning?"
"Yes." I nodded cautiously.
"Are you sure you did it well? You know, you can take your time. I get it, you're still new here."
"I'm very certain. Am done ma'am."
"Ohkay." She gave me a skeptical glance but still nodded in approval. "I'll check it up and holler you if it gat any correction."
I smiled in response and walked back to my seat.
"Haha_aha_hahahh.." An high-pitched cackled fell out from someone in the room and I lifted my head to see who it was.
"Seriously Gabby?" Miss. Clark scoffed from beside me as she glared at Miss. Stefani.
Miss. Stefani shrugged unaffected by her glare. "What did I do?"
"Why did you just laugh?"
"Nathing. Just watching Miss. newbie being the goodie." She cackled darkly.
'is she talking to me?'
"Leave the girl alone, Miss. delinquent."
"Ashley watch ya...."
"Enough of this nonsense" Mrs. Andrew butted in sternly.
"It wasn't me who..." Miss. Stefani started to say but was shut off as Mrs. Andrew slammed her palm firmly on the desk.
"Are you done with the Denzel's account?" Mrs. Andrew demanded.
"Erm...al..most done." Miss. Stefani stuttered and Miss. Clark guffawed uncontrollably while I chuckled silently.
"I want it done in less than a hour." Mrs. Andrew ordered.
Miss. Stefani whined with puckered lips. "Mrs. Andrew, that's impossible. I can't.."
"I didn't know you're craving for a break from all these...."
"I'll get it done now." Miss. Stefani conceded, sniffing sadly.
"Better. And you, Miss. Clark, back to your business."
"Yes ma'am." Miss. Clark saluted playfully, showing off her white gapped-teeth.
'Damn! I love this girl.'
She gave me a small wink and went back to her business.
I chuckled softly.
*
"Hmmm.." I moaned, stretching my stiffened neck. For more than two hours, I've been buried in the rules book Mrs. Andrew gave me....like damn. How can just one company has this many rules? The booklet she gave me is f***ing bigger than a dictionary.
Just kidding.
I flipped over to the next page and started to read when the telephone on my desk started ringing.
"Hello." I said after I picked and lifted it to my left ear.
"Hi." A female voice echoed from the other side. "Am I speaking to Miss. Ariana Gwen?"
"This is she."
"A meeting is coming up for the new staff and you're included."
"Okay." I nodded. "Where's the venue!"
"The M room at fifth floor and the meeting commencing in twenty minutes from now."
"Okay. Thanks for the information."
"My pleasure." She said from the other side and hung up.
Dropping the cell back on it hold, i sighed and switched off my system, then i went to the toilet for a quick pee.
*
"Awww..." I moaned, feeling my stomach growled as I sat on the toilet.
"Mmmm...not now Miss. tommy." I cried looking at the watch on my wrist.
"Ah...gawd!"
The quick pee had drastically become lengthy and I have less than ten minutes to get into that M room.
'cruu..umm..mm' my stomach growled even louder and I squeezed my thighs as more feces fell into the toilet.
"Am so dead."
*
I dashed out of the office to the elevator and clicked the open button. I have less than a minute to be in that room and this stupid elevator door won't open.
should I just take the stairs?
Nah! I'll never make it.
I'm currently in the thirteenth floor so how the heck would I get to the fifth floor between one minute.
'ting...' the elevator finally slid open.
"Hallelujah." I sighed a relief as I dashed inside and clicked the fifth button.
The elevator door started sliding close but it abruptly halted and began to slide back open.
"What the heck!" I groaned, lifting my gaze to see the devil who bridge my escape.
"Umph..." I hiccuped as I laid eyes on the...the...demigod.
I felt goosebumps pop up on my skin just by standing close to him, like winter just appeared into the elevator.
This time, i didn't greet him nor did I acknowledge his presence but he didn't seems to care. He just acted like I never existed.
Am I even existing?
Maybe I'm not.
'ting...' the elevator chimed open and I zoomed straight to the M room.
"Just in time, darling." I heard someone say from the center of the hall and I scrutinized the room for the owner of the voice.
"Hola!" I found her, Miss. Clark seated at a corner in the center of the hall.
I responded with a smile.
"Lucky you! An empty seat just happens to be beside me."
"Oh! Thank you." I grinned and sauntered to her.
After settling on the chair, I asked the one question that was bothering me. "I thought the meeting was for new staffs?"
"Yes." She nodded.
"Are you new ma'am? And why's the hall filled with so much people if we're all just newbies?"
She chuckled at my question before responding. "I'm not really new but am still new. At Delphine, a meeting for new staffs hold at the end of every five months. So anyone who gets employed between these months has to be present."
"Oh! So that means everyone here's not as new as I am."
"Exactly!" She affirmed and gave me a small pout. "I also have a question."
"Ohkay ma'am." I nodded, giving her a go ahead.
"How old are you?" She asked curiously and I blinked rapidly, taken aback by her question.
"Erm...."
Didn't except that.
"Just wanted to know, cuz these honorifics you're using are literally crawling my skin." She cried, making a sad mouth.
"Oh. Erm...I'm 25."
"Me too." She chuckled. "So we're basically mate. You can call me Ashley and I can call you Ariana, right?"
"Ye...yeah!" I nodded awkwardly.
"She's here." She announced.
"Who's her..." I was cut off by a voice from the speaker.
"Good morning everyone." Someone from the podium greeted, calling everyone's attention.
"Who's she?" I whispered to only Miss. Clark...sorry, I meant Ashley. I whispered to only Ashley hearing.
"Secretary Gift." She whispered back and I nodded.
"Since we're all seated in our various seat..." Secretary Gift spoke into the mic in front of her. "I would like to welcome each and everyone of you to Delphine. I'm Gift Reid, the head to all secretaries but you can just call me secretary Gift or SG for simplicity. I will be your adviser, stalker and disciplinarian. So, on this day, I'll be reading the mandatory rules and regulations of Delphine." She cleared her throat and I immediately opened my jotter and pen.
"Some of these rules weren't written in the booklet given to you, so I'll advise you pen something down because if you break just a single rule, you might get fired." She paused for a short breath.
"Rule one, you're to resume to work at exactly seven, except special cases.
Rule two, you are not to enter the same elevator with the Chief boss or CEO because that is a sign of disrespect."
Fair enough.
"I know you'll be wondering, who's the chief boss and the CEO of this wonderful company. The chief boss is the father of the CEO, the founder of this company. I know you'll still be wondering who are these people. Now, welcome Mr. Ross, the founder and Chief boss of Delphine!" She yelled and everyone applauded as the aged man stepped in.
'Oh! The man from the interview.' I thought as I applauded.
The man waved as he sauntered to his seat at the high table.
"Now, welcome Mr. Jeffery Ross, the CEO to our wonderful company."
Again, everyone applauded as the man walked to the...
Wait...why does he look like the.....
