[You have made an astounding achievement by succeeding in a dead evolutionary path.]
[Your race is being redefined.]
[You have obtained the title: Primo Corpus Mundi]
[The Universe is delighted by the possibilities you bring and has rewarded you with dominion over your star system.]
[You are now a Lord.]
Adam's eye opened to the system's announcements. He felt a chill run across his body. He did not know whether the system meant that it was a dead evolutionary path due to what happened to Helmin or if it was a dead path even if he had immunity to the Corpuscladis. He shuddered to think that there was a very real possibility of him failing that evolution.
What would have happened to him then? Would he have become just like Helmin or worse? To steer his mind away from such thoughts, he focused on the next notification.
[Primo Corpus Mundi: You awoke as the Anima. Now you have obtained the Primo Corpus, the most pristine of celestial bodies. You are now the Primogenitor of two races merged into one. Will this be the pinnacle of your path or the Beginning of a legacy that would subsume all Creation?]
Adam felt that this new designation should not have been as huge a matter as it was. After all, a planet already had a body. And unlike awakening a soul or consciousness, enhancing a planet's body should not have been of equal value.
Of course, this thought only came about mostly because Adam did not quite understand what it was that he was being lauded for. His achievement was not about enhancing his body. It was about evolving it in an unconventional path that was already deemed dead.
This was literally on the same level as pioneering a new race from the perspective of the Universe. And indeed, it was reflected in his own status.
{[Name: Adam Terra (Earth)]
[Race: Corpus-Anima Mundi]
[Titles: Primogenitor of the Corpus-Anima Mundi | Primo Corpus Mundi]
[Dominion: Lord]
[Body: Minor-2]
[Core: Minor-3]
[Will: Epsilon-3]
[Traits: Hybrid Evolution]}
There were a lot of obvious changes to his status, starting with his race. It was no longer just Anima Mundi, but he could feel that the name could be changed to whatever he wanted. He was the Primogenitor so he had the power to dictate such details.
Adam decided to leave it be. There was no benefit to changing the name other than making it short, and if that was the only motive, then he could just call it Mundi as well. More importantly, the name of the race served as a sort of tracker, a gauge of his progress and achievements. He liked seeing it in its raw unaltered form.
The next thing he noticed were his attributes. Previously, his Body and Core were assessed to be 'Minor World'. But this seems to be the first evidences of the Universal System adapting to him. After all, he was no longer limited to just devouring a world's core and body to increase his power.
He could also devour other organisms for growth. So although it still refers to his stage as a Minor World, there was now a number on the side that indicated a detailed progression. More importantly, through his evolution, all his attributes had increased in level.
His Core was of a higher level than his Body mainly because he did not dare eat Helmin's body. The Core was fine since it was molten minerals and did not initially seem to have been infested inside. The outer membrane seemed more like a containment for the actual core so Adam mistakenly thought that it was safe to consume.
If it were not for his immunity, he would really have been infested. But that was why he had a stronger Core now. The surprising thing, however, was his Will. This also seemed to have resulted from his evolution as he now could feel and control his body a lot better than before. He could also manipulate his gravitational field a lot better now.
Gravity was generated by his Body and Core. It was an attractive force exerted by his mass to keep itself together. And with more mass, the stronger his gravity becomes, able to extend outside of the body in a gravitational field that influences other objects in the vicinity.
Adam's gravitational force had been strengthened by his stronger Body and Core while his control over it had been enhanced by his stronger Will. This was a great observation and a necessary upgrade.
After all, what would happen to his surroundings were he unable to control his own gravitational field? He would likely be crushed to death. Adam then shifted his attention to the new addition to status.
[Lord: A Dominion rank designating one as the ruler of up to five star systems. As a Corpus-Anima Mundi, your authority as Lord has mutated to allow you greater control over the arrangements of celestial bodies within your Dominion. Continue exerting your Will upon your Dominion to further define your authorities as Lord.]
Adam sighed in relief. He had just discovered the way to control his own gravitational field, but it did not mean he could keep the Solar System safe. After all, Evelyn was still growing stronger. Her gravitational field was already strong enough to drag asteroids to orbit around her.
Adam was worried that sooner or later, it would become uncontrollable and cause other planets' orbits around the sun to shift as well leading to unimaginable catastrophe. However, with his designation as Lord of the Solar System, he would no longer have to worry.
He immediately focused on containing the Moon's gravitational field, allowing her to only exert her influence on Earth and some nearby stray cosmic debris. Finally, he had averted the most concerning looming crisis.
With his inspection done, Adam stared at the thin fleshy membrane that enveloped him. It was the cocoon that facilitated his evolution and rebirth into a hybrid lifeform. He could tell that there was nothing left to it, just a stubborn film of tissue that could no longer supply him with the necessary nutrients.
And just as the cocoon around Earth was slowly dissolving and being absorbed by the planet, Adam pushed at the membrane surrounding him with his fingers and tore it open before stepping out into the desolate region of space once more.
