Chapter 14 - Chapter 14 - Bond (1)

Using his authority as Lord of the Solar System, Adam aligned the Moon with Earth's Ring of Fire. His Will surged out of Earth, reaching the Moon as he relayed to the nascent consciousness of Evelyn what he intended to do.

The plan simple. Adam would devour the Reactor Core at maximum operational capacity. The excessive power that he would be absorbing from it would then be split in two. One half would go toward strengthening Earth's core while the other half would instead be shot out by Earth through the Ring of Fire, sending a stream of power directly to the Moon. This stream of power would then drill through the surface of the Moon until it reaches the newly created core which would then absorb the power.

This was honestly a very risky plan, one that Adam did not want to use when he first thought of it. This was supposed to be a last resort if he could not find a way to bring back resources for Evelyn. He was hoping that somewhere in this vast Universe, someone had managed to create a ship that could ferry a world core or even a world itself across the stars. But this was no longer an issue.

The reason why Adam proceeded with this ridiculous plan was due to one single thing. He was the Lord of the Solar System. And as a literal living planet, his authority as a Lord had greatly mutated beyond the norm.

Through the system, he knew that it was highly abnormal for a Lord to be able to rearrange the planets and other celestial bodies in their star system. To be more precise, that was probably every Lord's greatest wet dream.

Imagine not having to worry about the security of your Dominion from external forces because you could literally just drag your planets into a tighter and more effective formation that had no blind spots.

To others, such a thing was impossible. But to a literal planet, following one's orbit was a lifelong routine. So when a planet became a Lord, that natural phenomenon had been translated into a mutated authority that allowed him to control the gravitational fields of all the celestial bodies in the star system.

But as the system said, he needed to further define his authorities to find out more. After all, even for the Universe and the Universal System, this was their first encounter with such a unique existence.

And so, Adam made a bet. One that he was quite confident in succeeding. If he had to estimate his chances, he would say around 60% success, 30% catastrophic failure, and 10% unexpected outcomes due to the many unknown variables involved in this ridiculous stunt. Not a very good gamble, but he decided to work with it anyway. It was not stupidity, it was a leap of faith.

And so, Adam quickly worked his way through the main control server of the Reactor and activated it all the way to maximum. From the monitor, he could see how the Reactor was gradually lighting up more and more. A smooth droning hum resounded all throughout the halls as though an ancient beast was awakening a long prehistoric slumber.

Adam wasted no time in returning to the Reactor and saw it brighter than anything he had seen before, even brighter than the Sun. For a moment, Adam was not sure whether he could actually devour it, but he shrugged and moved forward with the plan.

This would be the first time he would be devouring a whole solid, but he had an idea as to what he could do to make it easier. As he walked toward the Reactor Core, Adam's body began growing larger.

His former six meter height was only the smallest he could make his body be by condensing his mass tightly and mixing it with his core. But he could loosen his mass to increase his size while decreasing the toughness of his body and supplying more power from his core. He grew to about fifty meters, and although he was still way smaller than the Reactor Core, it was enough for him.

He pressed his body against the metal layer of the Reactor Core. It was definitely hot, but not enough to turn him to ash. It seems that the plasma within was not fully ionised and was still a bit on the cold side which was just perfect for him. It would slowly get hotter and hotter as he devoured it so it was at just the right temperature for him to take action.

His body then burst out like a gory mess of bronzen flesh and sinew, spreading across the surface of the Reactor Core. And as his flesh continued spreading to cover the entire thing, he had already begun absorbing the power from the Reactor Core to further speed up his devouring.

Before long, the entire Reactor Core had been enveloped by Adam's flesh heap of a body. His consciousness had now entered a temporary state of dormancy in this one body while he focused everything on Earth's situation.

The change to Earth's core was quite expected, evolving once more to a new state just hours after its last evolution. The light it gave off had now turned into a reddish pink glow like cherry. But that was not what Adam was focused on.

From the Ring of Fire, a pillar of bluish light shot straight to the sky, piercing the atmosphere and reaching the Moon. Adam made sure to tighten his control over this region of the Solar System to prevent any interferences or unwanted consequences of this process.

The light reached the Moon, and unlike what the humans who witnessed it thought, it did not cleave the Moon in half. Instead, it gently dug through the surface under the guidance of both Adam and Evelyn.

When the light finally reached the Moon's core, it was devoured hungrily by the starving nascent world. The already icy blue flames of the core gained a deeper hue, but rather than becoming hotter, it instead grew even colder.

The Moon's core was now far beyond what humans' science could understand as they could feel its frigid aura reaching the surface of the Earth.
