Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: A Love Confession

The raindrops had slowed down the pace of the city. Light drizzle was falling everywhere, and a thick cloud web spread across the sky. Outside the cafe, the drops of water were hitting the windows, as if the tune of an old song was playing. In such weather, the hot coffee of the cafe and the soft light inside had given a strange sense of comfort. Ritesh and Ananya, as always, were sitting at their favourite table. But today something was different. There was a strange silence, and a stir in the hearts of both.

Ritesh was very restless today. It was as if a storm was brewing in his mind, and this time he was not able to stop it. His eyes were fixed on Ananya, who was looking at the raindrops outside the window. There was a slight smile on her face, and there was a depth in her eyes, which was confusing Ritesh even more. Ritesh thought, "How many times have I thought of telling her my feelings, but every time I get scared. Will the same thing happen today?"

Today was a special day for Ritesh. He had promised himself that he would tell Ananya his feelings today. He had thought about it so many times, but every time he sat in front of her, his courage would fail. But now he could not wait any longer. After every meeting, he started feeling more and more weak. He was now afraid that it might be too late and Ananya would go away from his life. This fear was eating him from inside.

"What happened, Ritesh?" Ananya suddenly looked at him and asked. There was concern in her voice, because she had seen Ritesh a little more silent and serious today.

Ritesh took a deep breath. He realized that he could not wait any longer. His heart was beating fast, but he controlled his nervousness and said, "Ananya, I want to tell you something."

Ananya put down her coffee cup and looked at him intently. Her eyes were still as deep as before, but this time there was something else in them—curiosity, maybe worry. "What's the matter?" she asked softly.

Ritesh lowered his eyes, as if searching for words. He knew this moment was very important for his and Ananya's relationship. He chose his words carefully and said, "Our meetings, our conversations... all this has become more than just friendship for me. Whenever I am with you, I feel a strange happiness. When you laugh, I feel a sense of peace inside me. And when you are not around, I feel incomplete."

Ananya was still looking at him, there was silence in her eyes, but there was a stir in her heart. She had realized that her relationship with Ritesh was special, but she had never thought deeply about it. Now that Ritesh was expressing his feelings by looking into her eyes, his heart was also beating fast.

Ritesh took another deep breath and then said, "Ananya, I consider you more than just a friend. I don't know if this is right or not, but I can't hold my heart back any longer I LOVE YOU."

As these words came out of Ritesh's lips, the silence in the cafe deepened. The sound of the rain also seemed to have slowed down, and time seemed to have stopped. Ananya did not say anything for a few moments. Her eyes widened, and she kept looking at Ritesh. She had never imagined that Ritesh would say something like this to her. But somewhere in the corner of her heart, she already knew this.

Ritesh saw that Ananya was not saying anything, and his heart almost stopped beating. He started feeling that maybe he had made a mistake. By saying all this, did he put his and Ananya's friendship in danger? Will Ananya distance herself from him now? Thinking this, his heart became even heavier.

After a few moments of silence, Ananya smiled softly. There was a warmth in her smile, and there was no confusion in her eyes anymore. She said in a very soft voice, "Ritesh, I also wanted to tell you something."

Ritesh's breath stopped. He was waiting for Ananya to say something, and he felt that this moment was the longest moment of his life. Ananya picked up her cup of coffee, took a sip, and then said, "I like you too."

On hearing this, a wave of unspeakable happiness ran across Ritesh's face. He had not expected that Ananya would say something like this to him. His eyes sparkled, and he realized that he was no longer alone. His feelings were not just his; Ananya was feeling the same.

There was a glow of happiness on both their faces. It was still raining, but now the rain was not just water drops, but had become a symbol of the beginning of a new relationship. Sitting in the cafe, both of them were now lost in each other's eyes, as if they had lost all the worries of the world.

Ritesh held Ananya's hand and said, "I am so happy that you feel the same. I was afraid that I might lose your friendship."

Ananya smiled at him and said, "I was afraid too, but now that we have spoken our hearts, I feel that our relationship has become even stronger."

There was a new energy and warmth in their words. This love was now the beginning of a new journey between them. Both had left behind their fears and hesitations and confessed their love for each other. Their confession was no longer limited to just words; it was a promise - to stay together, to support each other, no matter what.

The rain of that day, that cafe, and both of them, everything had now settled in the hearts of Ritesh and Ananya. This moment had settled in their memories forever. Every time they would remember this day, this rain would become a symbol of their love. There was no dilemma, no question in the hearts of both now - there was only a true and clear relationship, which would become deeper with time.

Now there was a new journey in front of them, where they had to understand and nurture their relationship even more. This love of theirs was no longer limited to an unspoken feeling, but they had accepted it for themselves. There was that happiness and satisfaction on the faces of both, which is seen only in true love.
