Ritesh had kept his emotions in check during those months of separation from Ananya, but now he couldn't take it anymore. Every day he missed Ananya. Video calls and messages had provided a medium to express their feelings, but the distance between them had also created a void in their relationship. One day, Ritesh decided that he would meet Ananya no matter what the lengths were. He listened to his heart and decided to surprise Ananya.
Ritesh made his plans without telling Ananya. He booked a flight to her city, arranged a hotel room and planned when and how he would meet Ananya. This trip was very special for him, as he felt that this surprise would help bring back the warmth and happiness in their relationship that it had earlier. Ritesh's heart was beating fast, but he was excited to feel the thrill.
As Ritesh headed towards the new city, many thoughts started running through his mind. He was wondering what Ananya would react when he suddenly appeared in front of her. Would she be shocked to see him? Would her eyes be filled with the same happiness that he was imagining? Despite these questions, Ritesh's heart was full of confidence. He knew that this meeting would prove to be a turning point in their relationship.
He checked into a hotel after reaching the city and planned to meet Ananya the next day. Ritesh chose a cafe, one of Ananya's favourite places, where she used to visit often. He went to the cafe in advance and booked a table of her choice, where they both would sit and talk for hours. During all this, Ritesh had a smile on his face, but there was also a slight fear in his heart that what if this surprise does not work?
The next day, early in the morning, Ritesh called Ananya and had a normal conversation with her. He tried not to let Ananya know that he was in the same city in any way. Ananya was also busy with her daily routine and did not think that Ritesh could come to meet her so soon. Their conversation on the phone was short, but the desire to meet was very deep in their hearts.
Ritesh sends Ananya a message a few hours later: "Are you at the cafe? I thought you might feel like drinking your favourite coffee today."
Ananya replies laughing: "Oh wow! You seem to know what's on my mind. Yes, I am at the cafe."
Ritesh replies interestingly: "What if I come there?"
Ananya thought it was funny. She thought Ritesh was just teasing her sitting far away. She replies laughing, "Yes, definitely come, I will wait for you."
In a few minutes, Ritesh reached the door of the cafe. His heart was pounding, but there was a look of confidence on his face. He steps inside the cafe and as Ananya sees him, time stops. For a few moments, Ananya could not believe that Ritesh was actually standing there. Her eyes remained wide open and her face started glowing with surprise and happiness.
"Ritesh?" Ananya said in surprise, a mixed feeling of happiness and surprise was clearly visible in her voice.
Ritesh smiled at her and said, "Yes, it is me. Did you really think that I would stay so far away and keep missing you and would not come to meet you?"
Ananya's face lit up with happiness. Without wasting a moment, she got up from her chair and hugged Ritesh. That moment was very special for both of them. All the distance and all the confusion between them seemed to have ended in that one moment. People sitting in the cafe were also smiling seeing their meeting, as if it was a part of a beautiful story of love.
"How did you plan this?" Ananya asked laughingly, there were tears in her eyes, and laughter too.
"I just couldn't live without you. I thought this was the right time to surprise you".
Ritesh hugged Ananya and said, "Seeing you, all my tiredness vanished. These few days were very difficult for me, but now standing in front of you, it seems that all the troubles have disappeared somewhere."
Ananya also had tears of joy in her eyes. She smiled lightly and said, "You are really crazy. I never thought that you would come to meet me like this without telling me."
Ritesh replied jokingly, "If I had told you, it would not have been a surprise. And I was missing your laughter, which is now in front of me."
Both of them kept looking at each other for some time without saying anything. It was the same silence that was telling everything between them.
After that they spent time with each other in a cafe, drank coffee, and talked about the days when they were away. Ritesh told how even while talking to Ananya every day, he felt that something was incomplete. "Talking on the phone doesn't give the same feeling as sitting in front of you," Ritesh said.
Ananya nodded in agreement, "To be honest, I used to feel the same. At times, I used to think that there are so many new things in this city that I want to explore with you. Everything here seemed incomplete without you."
Ritesh took Ananya's hand in his and said, "So let's make the most of today. Today is just for us."
They left the cafe, and started roaming the streets of the city with a new energy. They went to see the same places that Ananya had told Ritesh about—the beautiful park with rows of colorful flowers, the old bookstore that Ananya often visited, and the street that was away from the crowd of the city, from where both the beauty of the sky and the vibrancy of the city could be enjoyed.
That day they kept walking for hours, talking. Everywhere they were creating a new memory, and the bond between them seemed to be growing stronger with every passing moment. Amidst the drizzle of rain, they stopped near an old building, from where the view of the whole city was visible. Ananya said, "There are many things in this city that I like, but without you, it all seemed dull. Now it seems that this city has become even more beautiful with you."
Ritesh looked at her and said with a light smile, "Maybe because now we are together. And when we are together, everything looks beautiful."
Standing there, both of them held each other's hands and felt this new feeling. Raindrops were falling softly, and there was a freshness in the air which was calming all the confusions within their minds. Ritesh told Ananya, "I think this distance made us realise how incomplete we are without each other. No matter how tough this time is, I am sure now that we will always be there for each other."
Ananya looked at him and smiled, "Maybe this is what true love is. No matter how the time is, if we are together, everything is fine."
That day they enjoyed the beauty of the city to the fullest. They were not only exploring new places in the city but also feeling the depth of their relationship. With every step they were realising how strong and deep the bond between them has become.
In the evening they went to a beautiful restaurant, where the glittering lights of the city were visible from a window. The dim light of candles and soft music in the atmosphere made the romance between them even deeper.
After having dinner, when they came out of the restaurant, the city streets were dimmed and there was an amazing peace in the air. Ritesh and Ananya decided to just walk hand in hand for a little while longer as this moment was very special for them.
Ritesh suddenly stopped and said, "I think I will never forget this moment. This city, this night, and every moment spent with you, everything will always be special to me."
Ananya looked at him, her eyes were filled with love and relief. She softly said, "Me too. Today will always be in my heart. And I know that now whenever I walk on the streets of this city, I will remember this meeting of ours."
That night, Ritesh and Ananya cherished every moment spent together. They realized that together they can overcome every difficulty, every distance, every discomfort that comes in love. Their relationship was now strong enough to withstand any distance or challenge.
The next day, when Ritesh prepared to leave, Ananya told him, "This surprise was very special for me. I will never forget what you did for me."
Ritesh smiled and said, "And I will never forget how complete you make me feel just by being with me. This relationship has become even more special now."
Ritesh said goodbye to Ananya, but this time there was no restlessness or fear in their hearts. They knew that the love between them had become even stronger now.
