Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Struggle

Everything seemed rosy after Ritesh and Ananya reunited. Their love was at its peak, and they started planning for the future together. But when they returned to their respective homes, they realized that the real challenge was just beginning. Their love was about to turn into a struggle between family, society and traditions.

When Ritesh's mother came to know that he wanted to marry Ananya, her reaction was not at all favourable. Ritesh's family was a staunch believer of traditions. Their thinking did not match with modern ideas, and they wanted Ritesh to marry a girl who matched their caste, religion and social status.

When Ritesh took Ananya's name in front of his family, there was silence in the house for a moment. Expressions of worry and displeasure were clearly visible on his mother's face. They said, "Ritesh, we have always thought well of you. Ananya may be a good girl, but she is not right for our family and society. You should understand your responsibilities."

Ritesh said seriously, "Mom, Ananya is my life. She is incomplete without me and I am incomplete without her. We have to live together."

But his mother ignored him and said, "Your feelings may be right, but we also have to take care of society and our relatives. What will people say? What are our family traditions? What will happen to all this?"

Ritesh's father also supported his mother. He said in a serious tone, "Son, marriage is not just a union of two people, it is also a union of two families. We have to take care of the limits of our society and culture."

These words were heart-breaking for Ritesh. He had always thought that his family would understand and support his love, but now he was realizing that things were not that easy. He tried to reason with his family, "Mom, Dad, Ananya and I love each other. Our love is more important than our caste or religion. I am not asking you to break your traditions, but can't you accept my love?"

The family constantly debated on this topic. Ritesh's parents talked to him every day on this topic, trying to convince him to leave his feelings aside and take care of the family's reputation. But Ritesh was firm on his decision. He thought he could go to any extent for his love.

On the other hand, Ananya was also facing challenges from her family. Ananya's family was also of traditional ideology and when they came to know that Ananya loved a boy from another religion and caste, they were quite upset. Ananya's mother said, "How is this possible, Ananya? You know this is not acceptable in our society. We have seen very good boys for you, and you love a boy who is against our traditions?"

Ananya told her mother, "Mom, my identity with Ritesh is not just love, our thinking also matches. He has become a part of my life and I cannot live without him."

But her mother replied angrily, "Your thinking has changed. How can you ignore the honor of your family and the rules of society? You have to end this relationship immediately."

Ananya's father also supported her mother and said, "This is a question of our honor. We cannot marry our daughter in a family where our traditions are not respected."

Ananya's heart was breaking from inside. She did not expect such a reaction from her family. She thought her parents would understand her love and support her, but now she felt she was facing a big challenge. Days passed, and the rift between Ritesh and Ananya's families kept growing. They would meet every day, and console each other, but their struggle was not easy. They decided that they would face this situation together, but also understood that this battle could be long.

Ritesh and Ananya decided that they would try their best to convince their families. They knew that eloping and getting married could make the situation worse, and they did not want to upset their families. So they slowly started talking to their families.

Ritesh told his mother, "Mom, I have always listened to you. But this time I just want to tell you to meet Ananya once. Talk to her, get to know her. She also respects the honour and traditions of this family. If you understand her once, maybe your opinion will change."

Ritesh's mother said after a little hesitation, "Okay, I will meet her. But don't think that I will immediately accept this relationship."

This was the first victory, but there was still a long way to go. On the other hand, Ananya also tried to talk to her family. She tried to explain to her parents how much she loves Ritesh and how strong their relationship is.

Slowly a dialogue started between the two families. Ritesh's mother and Ananya's mother met once, but this conversation was tense. Mothers from both sides were very strict about their traditions and social beliefs.

Now a collective decision was yet to be taken regarding the relationship between Ritesh and Ananya. The traditions of society and family stood as a big obstacle in front of them.

Overcoming the conventions and barriers of society, Ritesh and Ananya's love emerged victorious. This was the biggest victory of their relationship, and now they knew that no struggle or challenge could defeat their love.

This struggle was not just an experience for them, but it brought them even closer to each other. Now they completely understand that true love is never easy, but if the love is true, then no challenge can defeat it.
