Chapter 65 - Snakes [3]

"Shouldn't it be more glamorous?"

"Hey, when YOU help build an entire city, you get to decide how to make a house."

That reply seemed to make Euryale go quiet.

What was happening right now? Well, I was building a house specifically for the Gorgon sisters. Just having them sleep wherever they felt like it didn't really sit well with me. So, I offered to build them a house.

What did the Gorgon sisters do in response to me literally making them a home? Well, they reacted like every person in the middle of home renovation: Complain about how it's not perfect.

Anyway, I was in my rock element using the stones around to create an entire house. Honestly, it was somewhat nostalgic. I haven't done this since my days in Uruk.

I mean, why would you need a house being literally made of... well, anything the weather throws at you.

Back to the house, I made a beautiful two story house that was closer to modern day or by current standards, the future-standards. I couldn't exactly make glass since I don't have a glass element yet so I just left the windows empty for now.

I should probably get a glass element or something like that.

"Well, finished," I said as I placed the final stone in the pathway that leads to the front door.

"Well it's definitely something," Stheno commented while looking over the outside of the house.

"I was hoping for a castle", Euryale commented.

"I like it," Medusa meekly said with a low voice, but at least she didn't stutter. She's been getting more confident in sharing her opinion with me.

"Hmm... It feels like it's missing something," I said while scratching my chin before snapping my fingers- both actions caused the sound of stone grinding on stone-as I realised. "I know!"

I walked to the back of the house where there was just the field of stones and green life.

The Gorgon sisters followed me with curious looks. I stayed in my rock element and focused on a spot in the metaphorical backyard.

Slowly, a large circle removed itself from the ground creating a large yet smooth hole in the backyard.

I just tossed the torn part of the ground away which caused shocked looks from the Gorgon sisters as it crashed somewhere in the island and turned to my water element.

I began filling the hole with clean water and, soon enough, a pool was made. "There, now it's perfect," I said while crossing my arms and turning to my wood element.

"And... what purpose does this serve?" Euryale asked as she looked at the water.

"Well, it's a pool. You're supposed to swim in it," I said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. Which, I guess it technically wasn't since pools were not a thing yet.

"Well, it definitely is better than washing ourselves in random rivers," Stheno commented. Then, to my absolute surprise and shock, Stheno and

Euryale began to strip. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!" I asked while they started taking off their dresses.

"Well, we're getting ready to bathe. We can't do that with our clothes on" ,Stheno replied. "Yes, but why are you doing it in front of me?!" I asked.

Stheno and Euryale looked at each other in confusion before looking back at me. "You're a tree. Why do you care?" The latter asked.

"Because..." I stopped myself when I realised something.

I wasn't feeling anything.

The Gorgon sisters, despite mostly looking like children, were in fact goddesses born to be loved by men.

However, despite that, they were mostly naked- actually completely naked, they already took their dresses off by now-and yet I felt absolutely nothing.

I guess Elemental mentality means the concept of sexuality is pretty much non-existent to me, which is a convenient thing to realise right now.

This does explain why it always took me a while to realise that Gilgamesh was naked whenever he felt like not wearing anything I just walked away to where Medusa was standing as her sisters dipped in the pool. "You're not gonna join them?" I asked her.

Medusa just shook her head. "I'll take my bath later."

This did give me the chance to address something about her. "You're looking better," Medusa just looked at me in confusion, "I saw... that," I mumbled.

Medusa stayed confused for a few more seconds before her eyes wide in shock in she immediately began to pull her cloak around her while also lowering her hood.

What was I talking about? Medusa has scales. Snake scales. I noticed them when she tried to attack me.

I asked Stheno about them in private, and according to her, that's what happens when a Gorgon overuse their powers and drink human blood.

I was seriously worried, but thankfully, the eldest Gorgon assured me that, as long as Medusa doesn't overuse her powers and not drink any human blood, she should be fine and the effects should wear off.

And that's what I meant by saying she looks better. Her scales have been vanishing slowly. When I first got here, her scales reached halfway across her neck, now they barely reach her neckline.

"You don't have to worry about those, you know," said but Medusa just looked down while keeping her hold on her hood. "Medusa, I'm practically a tree monster, you REALLY think a few scales will make me think less of you?" Medusa just sighed. "You may say that but-"

"Medusa, as your friend, I assure you that I don't care at all for those, and I'm sure your sisters don't either," I said.

However, Medusa just looked at me in absolute shock "F friend?" Medusa asked me. For a second, I was worried she genuinely didn't know the meaning of the word. "You really see me as your... friend?"

"Yeah, that's what I'm saying," I said with a shrug.

That caused Medusa to go deep in thought. She really doesn't know how to react to kindness.

To this day, Medusa and her sisters are one of the most important people to me.

even if I haven't seen them in a REALLY long time
