After that, things settled down into a form of... routine, I guess. I would train with my powers near the pond, and occasionally I would get this feeling that leads me to humans getting attacked by forest animals.
The feeling would stop whenever the humans are safe. I thought it was either about humans themselves being in the forest or that they were in danger.
"Dammit, you overgrown salamander," I groaned out while holding the jaws of a giant, green reptile that looked like a crocodile but on land only.
Basically, a bigger version of a comodo dragon. I was in my rock element and was holding that thing's jaws as it tried to eat another group of humans. They've been a lot of them lately, but they always end up attacked, I save them, and they run away. It's an odd routine.
"Oh, screw this," I groaned as I started raising my hands and lifted that thing clean off the ground. I turned and threw that thing at the nearest tree, causing it to smack hard enough to bend the tree and nearly break it.
Before it got up, I raised my hand and lifted a giant boulder from the ground and threw it at it while pointing my hand at it. The boulder struck the creature and broke the tree easily considering that it was already almost broken.
My control over elements has been improving. Slowly, but still improving. I was honestly going by either instinct or something I learned in the past.
"Avatar: The Last Air Bender" is a great source of inspiration, and I don't mean just Uncle Iroh, though he was the main source.
With the lizard trapped under the rock out cold and/or is dead, I turned around and was not surprised as the people just looked at me and started running away.
This was how our routine usually went. It always ends with the humans running back from where they came. You'd think by now they'd know not to come here with how dangerous this forest is.
Either the groups I saved didn't run in to each other to warn the others, or they were just stupid. Maybe a bit of both, honestly.
I sighed and just turned to my water element and focused. Lately, I even began feeling where the elements I turn to are if I put my mind to it, and it wasn't long before I found the pond and began walking there.
The reason I keep going back there is because that's my only source of water, hence my only way to see what I can do with my water element.
Which is what I was planning to do today. "Alright," I said rubbing my hands together. "Let's see what I can do today," since I was already in my water element, so I just held my hands out and began to focus.
Waving my hands left and right, I created waves easily.
But that's not what I was planning for today, Raising my hands, I raised a portion of the pond up in the air, and started trying to keep it up there as long as I can.
While doing that, I tried to shape the water into something. I started off with something simple and tried to make the water into a perfect sphere, or at least as perfect as I can.
While I was trying with other shapes like triangles and squares, I sensed something again. This time however, it was different. It didn't have this 'wrong' feeling I picked up before. I just felt like something entered the forest and was close by.
"That's weird," I mumbled while lowering the water back to the pond.
"That's the first time two groups of humans came on the same day," I said while looking at where the sensation was coming from, I then shrugged my shoulders and sighed. "Oh well, might as well see that they don't get themselves killed."
I changed into my wood element and started walking towards the feeling. Soon, I did come across a group of humans just as I expected, but what I didn't expect was how big the group is.
This was the biggest group yet, obviously made up of nearly a hundred people made up of men, women, and children. The were all looking around. (Are they looking for something?) I thought.
Sadly, I completely didn't realise that there were no trees or bushes to hide me, and I was easily spotted. "There it is!" One of the man said pointing at me.
I took a step back and got ready to run away. I seriously didn't want to hurt any of these people with children amongst their groups, especially if this is some form of misunderstanding.
Instead of attacking or anything like that, they just stared at me in... awe?
They were mumbling amongst themselves and were all looking like they both wanted to approach me but were too scared to do it.
One man walked forward, and I was hoping to talk some sense into them, but I couldn't because he...
knelt down and bowed?
The other people went ahead and did the same thing all of them bowing and kneeling on the ground. (What... what the hell are they doing?) I asked myself.
"Hail the Forest God, protector of our lives and people!" The first guy to bow said.
"Hail the forest god!" The people behind him repeated.
That's when it hit me. Those people? They thought I was a god... and they were worshipping me.
If you have common sense, there's only one way to react to people thinking you're a god.
(FuuuuuuuuuUUUUUU-) what came after that was nothing but a series of mental curses.
