" Now guys, the next test you are having today is a agility test, even though this one is easier than the first, it is a little tricky, so don't be surprised by what happens next "
Suddenly, all the strength gauges disappeared and we're replaced by some new equipments.
It was round in shape and large, it had many holes around it, and looked quite dangerous. It also had a stand that supported it. Also on the head a magic stone was fixed into it.
" These are called racket shooters, you are to stay in the middle of the field, and once it fires at you, you will have to dodge it, don't worry, the attacks are not dangerous, it will only put you off balance. The attack speed increases the more you dodge that attacks and the level goes more higher and higher. Once you pass level 10, then you have passed the test, and is free to move onto the next event. I hope you get lucky here, good luck ".
The man said, signalling that they could start. They were arranged like before where they had to line up, but this time neither Bane or Luna were in Derkile's group.
' This test is going to be easier than I thought. Maybe I don't even need to worry at all '
Derkile, thought with a smirk, when the first person moved to the middle, and immediately began to dodge the attacks from the shooters, it looked quite easy as he was dodging it with ease.
Immediately it was level 8, the speed of the machine changed, and the attacks grew as fast as ever. The boy movements also moved faster, and Derkile realized that he was using the power of his magic weapon,, as a red glowing mace could be seen glowing from his hand.
Soon enough, the boy passed level 10 and moved onto level 11. That's were the most shocking thing happened, while he was in the middle the level, the attacks suddenly moved at him from different directions, all at once. The boy confused, managed to dodge a few, but the rest hit him fiercely, lifting him up his feet up into the air for a few seconds, until he crashed into the ground.
' It seemed like that level 11 is the hardest part.' Derkile thought, while some people helped lifting the boy from the ground.
Derkile was the next in his group, he moved towards the center. he new he needed to use his powers this time since he had to get past
Level 10, and level 11 was the hardest , so he would have no choice but to do so.
Once he was in the center, the shooters began to glow and started firing out white energy blast, and Derkile responded by dodging skillfully, soon level 1 passed and other levels too passed, it then reached level 8, where the attacks became faster and faster, but Derkile was still able to dodge it .
The truth was that Derkile didn't want to raise suspicion, so he tried to reduce the rate at which he was fast, and pretended to use his all his force to dodge the attacks.
Level 10 and passed, and it was now level 11, then suddenly, just like before, the attacks came in all at once. At first, Derkile wanted to end there, so as not to raise suspicion, but later he wanted to try wether dodge all of it , and proceeded.
Even though, the speed of the attacks were at the highest, Derkile body still seemed to be faster, as he easily dodged the attacks lunched at him, he had almost dodge them all, but decided to stop, so as to prevent the people from suspecting him. The attacks hit him, and he lunched into the air for a few seconds, before crashing into the ground.
When he arose, a smirk appeared on his face when he looked into the eyes of others, because he saw the amazement on their faces.
" Wow, he is quite talented, I never thought he would make it without a magic weapon, but he actually did it"
A boy whispered to his friend, while the both of them stared at Derkile....
The test continued, and by the end, surprisingly no one failed the test, perhaps because it was easier than the first one, or because most of them used magic weapons. Only Derkile and a few amount of people used their raw strength to pass the test. Derkile wondered who those people were.
Bane ran excitedly to Derkile, he was happy that they had passed the second test.
" Derkile you actually passed?, I was worried about you. I also heard you did quite well than some others who used magic weapons "
Bane said, heaving a sigh of relief.
" Yeah, the feeling just got into me, and I started performing well "
Derkile lied.
" Yeah that reminds me about something I wanted to ask you Derkile. Please be sincere with me "
He said, then leaned closer to Derkile and whispered into his ears.
" Are you a human?"
Bane asked him, and he froze. Had he figured out?. He thought.
" Why do you ask so "
Derkile asked, a little sweat broke from his face.
" Well nothing much, I just thought since the way you have been behaving lately, I started to think maybe you were something else like a..."
" Like a what?"
" I thought maybe you were a sorcerer....."
' Phew, that was close, I almost thought he figured out what I was, wait
I don't even know what I am!! '. Derkile thought.
" Don't be ridiculous Bane, how would I be a sorcerer, and then try to apply for the position of a soldier here, when I could useeasily become a royal sorcerer. Remember I also told you that my parents were once sorcerers but died to early to be able to transfer their powers to me, that makes me a ordinary guy....., ohh, the memories has come back "
Derkile said feigning pain in his head, trying to sit on the ground, the memories of his childhood were hunting him once again. Bane quickly tried to comfort him.
" Oh, I'm very sorry if I have brought the sad memories back, I didn't mean too, I was just curious . I am very sorry"
" No need to. I ...."
He was cut short when the announcer started speak.
" Good day everyone, wow it seems like no one failed the second test. I am really impressed!! "
He said while looking at the list given to him by the recorders.
" I thought this one would be trickier, but surprisingly you all passed. Good job to you all "
He said, and then returned the list. People whispering to themselves, making a mutters.
" Now that you have finished this one, I think it's time for us to go on to the next test without wasting our time....., the next one which is the last test that will decide if you become a royal soldier or not.."
Once he made mention of this, everyone became dead silent, and focused attention on every words he said.
" It's is going to be a battle test, you are all going to face of some bunch of low level monsters all at once, you only pass if you have defeated the beasts before you fall, Or if you killed an amount of at least 22 of the beasts. Once you fall then you are disqualified. Don't worry, the beasts won't cause any potential damaged. They are being mind controlled, and their main sim is to make you lose your balance and fall to the ground..., Do you understand??"
He asked, when he saw that their faces changed.
" I ask again, do you understand???"
" Yes "
They muttered slowly.
" Good, then let us begin. Your weapon are compulsory for this one, don't use any other weapon apart from the one given to you during your primary training... "
Suddenly, the field changed, the equipments from before started disappearing and from a sight a group of creatures could be seen coming out of the ground.
' This is probably going to be the toughest part '
Derkile thought, and everyone quickly picked up their weapons. Some people also wanted to take the extra weapons they had brought brought, but it seemed no where to be found.
" Don't worry, your extra weapon are with us, as I told you , you won't be allowed to use any other weapons, apart from the ones given to you. Not to worry, your weapons shall be returned after you have finished this test "
The creatures began to move closer, and more and more came out of the ground.
" Now, let the battle..... Begin!!!!!"
And the creatures charged towards them viciously.
' Oh no '
