As Kai finished speaking, a black flame ignited from thin air, engulfing him in its eerie embrace. His clothes slowly darkened, taking on a flowing, almost liquid-like appearance, while his once golden pupils and black hair shifted to a deep crimson hue.
As the transformation completed, a powerful shockwave radiated from Kai's body, with black and red lightning crackling in the sky. The force of his Conqueror's Haki was so immense that it uprooted trees and sent waves of pressure throughout the area.
Below, Vivi and Luffy were knocked back by the intensity of the aura.
"W-What's happening?" Vivi stammered, clinging to a rock, wide-eyed with fear.
"Kai's using one of his forms!" Luffy grinned, holding onto the stone as he scratched his head with his free hand.
Vivi's admiration for Kai, already high, shot to a new level. She had grown used to his calm and approachable demeanor, but now, witnessing his demonic form, she was in awe. So terrifying!
The shockwave spread far and wide, reaching even Brogy, Nami, and the others. Though they weren't directly affected by the immense pressure, they could certainly feel it.
Brogy's eyes narrowed. "That direction... it's where Dorry is!" Without hesitation, he grabbed his axe and rushed toward the source of the disturbance. Usopp and Nami, seeing his reaction, quickly followed suit.
Meanwhile, animals on the island were fleeing in panic. Even Sanji and Zoro, who had been in another part of the island, sensed the chaos and started making their way toward it.
Back where Kai stood, Dorry faced him, feeling the overwhelming pressure of his demonic form. The tension was palpable.
"So, do I match the bounty poster now?" Kai asked with a smirk.
Dorry didn't respond, his expression grim as he kept his focus on Kai.
"Relax," Kai said, waving his hand dismissively. "Here, have some wine. No tricks this time."
With a flick of his wrist, Kai pulled out several barrels of wine from the space he'd acquired at Whiskey Peak and tossed them toward Dorry. During his time there, he had "borrowed" all the available alcohol, leaving the island dry.
Dorry caught the barrels, opening one and downing it without hesitation. After witnessing Kai's display of power, Dorry knew he was no match for him. If Kai wanted to kill him, there was no need for deception.
Besides, Dorry had recognized something familiar in Kai's aura—Conqueror's Haki. A warrior with the potential of a king wouldn't resort to underhanded tricks.
After draining the barrels, Dorry let out a satisfied sigh. "Hahaha! That hit the spot. I haven't had wine this good in ages!"
Just as he was about to speak again, a voice boomed from the distance.
"Hey, Dorry! You alright?"
Turning around, Dorry saw Brogy running toward them, a look of concern on his face.
"Oh, Brogy! It's fine, this guy just treated me to some wine!" Dorry called back with a laugh.
Brogy skidded to a halt, eyeing the scene with confusion. He glanced between the now-destroyed landscape, Kai and Dorry.
After a long pause, Brogy scratched his head and muttered, "That's a... unique way to share a drink."
Dorry chuckled, feeling a bit embarrassed. He couldn't exactly admit that he didn't trust Kai at first, which led to the mess they were in now. No, he couldn't let Brogy know!
"Uh, yeah! This little brother here wanted to have a sparring match with me, and the prize was the wine!" Dorrysaid, making up an excuse.
Kai smirked but didn't correct him. He played along and added, "Exactly. I wanted to fight. But not just you, Dorry . I want to take on both of you."
"Huh?" Brogy blinked in confusion.
"You want to fight the two of us?" Brogy asked, trying to wrap his head around the request.
"That's right," Kai replied, nodding. "And in return, I'll give you even more barrels of wine."
Brogy narrowed his eyes. "Are you serious, boy? The combined strength of us two isn't something to take lightly."
"Of course, I'm serious," Kai answered, his voice firm. Then, raising his voice, he made his challenge loud and clear: "I, Kai , hereby challenge the two warriors of Elbaf, Dorry and Brogy!"
Both giants' eyes narrowed at his declaration. Their expressions grew serious as they responded in unison.
"I, Dorry!"
"And I, Brogy!"
"Accept your challenge!!!"
A grin crept across Kai's face as he received the answer he wanted. For warriors like Dorry and Brogy, who lived for battle, issuing a formal challenge was the best way to engage them.
"Then... let's begin!" Kai shouted, and in an instant, his figure vanished.
When he reappeared, he was already in front of Dorry, his weapon raised high. Without hesitation, he swung his staff down with tremendous force. Dorry, a battle-hardened warrior, reacted instinctively, raising his sword to meet the blow.
The clash of their weapons sent a shockwave rippling through the air, reshaping the already damaged land. Despite the massive size difference, Kai had the upper hand in raw power, steadily pushing Dorry back.
As Dorry's sword began to bend under the pressure, a voice echoed from behind Kai.
"Boy, don't forget about me!"
