As the electronic sound faded, a surge of memories flooded into Kai's mind, and with it came an inexplicable understanding of new abilities. Once the rush subsided, Kai stood there in a daze, but soon, he was overcome with joy, even jumping up in excitement.
It wasn't that Kai was easily impressed—far from it. But what he had gained this time was nothing short of extraordinary. The sheer magnitude of the abilities left him unable to contain his excitement.
First, there was the technique Hakai—a move he recognized instantly. It was Kaido's famous combination attack, performed alongside Big Mom. A devastating technique, but with one limitation: it required two people to execute. Alone, it was virtually useless.
However, the real treasure from this check-in wasn't just Hakai—it was the Clone Ability. In Kai's mind, this ability made Hakai seem like a mere bonus!
The description of the clone ability read:
"The user can create a clone with identical strength to the original. For each additional clone, the power of all clones decreases by 5%.The strength of the original body remains unchanged. The user can switch places with any clone at will."
While it might sound complicated, the concept was simple: Kai could create a clone with the same strength as himself. If he created a second, each would have 95% of his original strength, and with more clones, the power would slightly reduce—but even if he created eleven clones, each would still wield half his original strength!
To put it in perspective, even a clone at 50% of Kai's strength could take down the current Straw Hat crew without breaking a sweat! The possibilities were endless. If Kai ever reached the level of a Yonko, his enemies would have to face two Yonko-level fighters at once!
It was a terrifying thought. After all, just look at the chaos caused by Kaido and Big Mom together. The Supernovas had no chance until they were able to separate them. Now, imagine two Kai's working in perfect harmony—it was a game changer.
And that wasn't even the most frightening part. The ability to switch positions with his clone mid-battle would leave any opponent utterly confused. A sudden power shift or tactical swap would give him an unparalleled advantage.
In short, the clone ability would drastically enhance Kai's combat capabilities.
With his mood lifted and Drum Island found, Kai flew back to the crew, humming a tune as he sped across the sky on his Flying Nimbus. It had taken him an hour to locate the island, but returning to Little Garden took only seconds. Soon, Kai landed back on the island, where the crew eagerly awaited him.
As soon as Luffy saw him, he ran over and asked, "Kai, did you find it? Did you find the island?"
Kai smiled, nodding. "I found it!"
"Awesome!" Luffy and the others cheered, their spirits lifting. Nami, who had been especially anxious, practically beamed with relief.
"Alright, let's not waste any time. We need to set sail immediately!" Kai said, turning to Dorry and Brogy, the giant warriors.
"Uncle Giants, we've got to go. I hope we meet again someday!"
Dorry, with a sympathetic smile, replied, "If the little lady is sick, it's best you go quickly. But be careful… there's something you should know."
The giant hesitated before continuing, "If you're heading west, beware of the Goldfish King. It's so large, I once landed on what I thought was an island, but it turned out to be its droppings!"
Usopp's face went pale at the mention of the Goldfish King. Somehow, the tale seemed familiar, like something he had once bragged about.
Brogy added, "If our weapons weren't broken during our battle earlier, we could have helped. But sadly, we cannot assist you in defeating it."
Kai, unfazed, waved a hand. "No need. We won't go through that area. But since you mentioned it, I might as well take care of it. I've been wanting to try out a new move!"
Turning to the crew, Kai grinned. "Anyone want to watch?"
Moments later, they all stood at the edge of the western sea. The waters were deceptively calm.
"We'll need to lure it out," Kai muttered to himself.
Without another word, Kai flew into the sky, gathering energy in his leg. "Tempest Kick: Sea Splitter!" He unleashed a powerful air slash, the force of which instantly split the ocean in the distance. The sea roared as it parted, sending water crashing tens of meters into the air.
Kai calmly landed back on the shore, waiting.
After a few tense moments, the surface of the sea began to churn violently. Slowly but surely, an enormous goldfish emerged, its gigantic eyes locking onto the group.
Everyone except Dorry and Brogy was stunned by the sheer size of the creature.
"That's the biggest goldfish I've ever seen!" Zoro exclaimed.
Sanji, in shock, added, "Is this thing even real?!"
Usopp stared, wide-eyed. "Did I ever brag this much?"
Suddenly, Luffy's eyes gleamed with excitement. "That goldfish is so fat… I bet the meat would taste amazing!"
Kai, catching Luffy's enthusiasm, smirked. "Not a bad idea. I'll carve out a piece after we take it down."
With that, Kai stepped forward and, with a thought, summoned a clone to stand beside him. The crew gasped in disbelief, rubbing their eyes in shock.
Luffy screamed, "Wait, why are there two Kai's?!"
"I'll explain later," Kai said, focusing on the task at hand. Looking at his clone was surreal—it felt like looking into a mirror.
Now was the time to test his new abilities.
The two Kai's stood side by side, and in perfect synchronization, each summoned a staff. The clone ability even replicated his weapon—it was incredible!
With their eyes narrowed, the two Kai's faced the Goldfish King and raised their staffs. In perfect unison, they swung the weapons forward.
"Hakai!"
