He breathed deeply, centering himself. The air felt charged, as though the very arcane fabric of reality was vibrating in tune with something long forgotten. Jarak could feel the mana waves rolling through him, revealing hidden paths, ancient powers…and there it was. The knowledge left behind by the wave: Synchronized Lifeforms.
Jarak knew the basics already—three potential outcomes that had long since been identified, but something in him told him that there was more, much more, than the initial discoveries revealed. Chaos had hinted as much, and now he was seeing it with his own eyes.
Three Common Outcomes of Synchronized Lifeforms
1. The Split Creation:
• When the synchronization fails to create a stable lifeform due to excessive energy or perfect harmony, the card splits. Instead of collapsing, the energy divides into two distinct creatures, both highly compatible. Though powerful in tandem, these creatures do not represent the full potential of a true Synchronized Lifeform. They are fragments—each reflecting a piece of the original creation process.
2. The Spell of Compatibility:
• When synchronization fails to produce a creature altogether, the energies instead stabilize into a spell that enhances the compatibility between two cards. This spell acts as a bridge, allowing two otherwise incompatible cards to function together in synergy, though it risks future instability if the inherent conflicts aren't carefully managed.
3. True Mastery:
• The rarest and most powerful outcome. When synchronization is perfectly balanced, the result is a full Synchronized Lifeform, a creature born from harmony between chaos and order. This lifeform adapts to any situation, evolving as the battle progresses. In the hands of a skilled creator, it becomes an unstoppable force of nature.
But now, Chaos was revealing more. More outcomes, more layers, more depth to this ancient art.
Hidden Outcomes of Synchronized Lifeforms
1. The Chain of Synchronized Entities:
• In the most rarefied instances, synchronization creates an unbreakable chain of creatures, each linked to the one before. When one entity is destroyed, the next is summoned, growing in power with each successive creature. Their synergy is so complete that as one grows stronger, they all do. This unending loop of destruction and rebirth forms a relentless tide of power, nearly impossible to counter.
Chaos spoke up again, almost to itself. "Ah, yes, the Chain… I remember the first one. A student of the old Sage tried to enhance a multiplying beast and ended up with a six-card chain. He built the Chimera Kingdom on the back of that experiment. Many tried to replicate it, but none succeeded. Until now, perhaps."
" Yeah, he is definitely that magician in the story he knows way too much."
Chaos laughed as he appeared in front of Jarak. " Once you defeat the chaos fragment your soul will increase. When that happens I will be able to tell you some secrets and give you a little gift."
" What kind of gift chaos is a broken window disguised as an artifact? I said "Looking a chao looking for a reaction." The magician was so hard to read his eyes looked as if they were peeking into your very soul. Which in all fairness they probably were. His smile gave nothing away; he could switch personalities in a blink.
" The magician looked undecided on how he would respond until for the slightest of seconds the wind around him picked up. " Then he responded smiling. "You could have just asked if I was that handsome and powerful mage and I would have said no he stopped smiling. No, my gift isn't a piece of broken glass. It's the product of one of my innate gifts that allowed me to gain power. But for now, focus."
Turning away the chaos magician was going to depart to who knows where but he stopped. " I should tell you about the gift a hint will do.
Jarak, you are creating 3 cards right? I expect at least 3 high-sync cards for you to get my gift. It's a living spell. I have to make some preparations with the new resources available at this time." Then he disappeared.
Looking back at the feather and what I saw I need a high-sync rage. So let's grab a few more high-energy materials.
Jarak stood still, absorbing the cryptic words from Chaos. His eyes trailed over the feather, the artifact he had been working with. It was still warm from the residual energy it held, pulsing faintly, and he could feel the connection between it and the creation process that had started. Chaos's parting words rang in his ears, the expectation of "high-sync cards."
Creating three Synchronized Lifeforms was no easy feat, especially ones that would impress Chaos, but the stakes were too high to ignore. A living spell, a gift like that could change everything. I never even heard of a semi-successful attempt in a living spell. It was declared impossible 40 years ago.
It was the difference between being bound by the limitations of conventional magic and transcending into something far greater, something that would place him among the most powerful.
Jarak breathed deeply, calming the surges of excitement and anxiety threatening to overwhelm him. He needed focus. Chaos had left him with a clear objective. Three cards, high-sync creations. He couldn't afford to mess this up.
Walking back to his workbench, Jarak unfurled the materials he had gathered for the ritual. The feather was just the beginning; he needed more—raw energy, potent and volatile components to push the boundaries of synchronization. He laid them out carefully, each one brimming with chaotic potential. Mana crystals, fragments of celestial ore, and a vial of liquid essence from a long-extinct spirit—powerful elements, but unpredictable. Perfect for what he had in mind.
His thoughts returned to the hidden outcomes Chaos had revealed. Synchronized Lifeforms, creatures born from the delicate balance of chaos and order. Jarak knew the basics, but what intrigued him more were the deeper possibilities. The Chain of Synchronized Entities, for instance—a relentless sequence of summoned creatures, each stronger than the last. That alone could shift the tides of war in his favor, an endless cycle of strength and power.
He began to pour energy into the first card, visualizing the outcome he desired. The materials on the table glowed as his mana fed into them, twisting and shaping the chaos in the air. The first creation would have to be something powerful, something that could maintain stability while harnessing the fury of the energy he poured into it.
The feather began to levitate, its glow growing brighter as the synchronization process started. Jarak focused, his mind sharp. He had to walk the line between control and letting the chaos shape the outcome. Too much order, and the creation would fail; too much chaos, and it would tear itself apart before it could manifest
The feather floated before Jarak, spinning gently as arcs of mana surged through it, linking his will to the unstable energies gathering in the room. His focus narrowed, blocking out everything except the delicate balance between chaos and order that pulsed through the very fabric of the ritual. He knew this first creation had to be something special—something capable of withstanding both the chaotic elements and the forces that would try to rip it apart.
Slowly, the energies began to coalesce, wrapping themselves around the feather. His mind raced, drawing from the knowledge Chaos had shared, digging deep into the principles of synchronization. He envisioned a very old coin . The head was a majestic Phoenix, the tails side was a demon.
" To guarantee that the most common outcome happens I need to supercharge the card's energy. So to do that I will have to add some more materials."
So I pulling out my most advanced storage card. Then I injecting mana into the red card and the card summoned the gates of Hades. A large 20-foot structure with black and purple energy. In the center surrounded by a circular structure is a two-revolving ball the size of a bouncy.
As the massive Gates of Hades loomed before him, Jarak could feel the oppressive energy radiating from the revolving black and purple spheres at its center. The structure, towering and ominous, was more than just a portal; it was a manifestation of raw power, a dimensional storage for his most valuable and potent materials.
Jarak approached it carefully, knowing that within these gates were the components necessary to supercharge his first card. With a slight motion of his hand, the twin spheres slowed their rotation, and a low hum filled the air as the gate responded to his command.
A rush of dark energy pulsed out as the gates creaked open, revealing a trove of arcane relics suspended in the void beyond. These were the materials he had gathered over years, each one carrying immense power, some dangerous even to touch without proper preparation. The air thickened with the weight of ancient forces as the items inside beckoned him.
He reached in, his hand guided by the delicate thread of mana he wove between the Gates and himself. His fingers closed around an ancient talisman—a core of volatile energy that pulsed with the wrath of a dying star. It was said to have once belonged to a long-forgotten deity of destruction, its energy chaotic and primal. Perfect for what he needed now.
"This will do," he muttered to himself, feeling the power hum beneath his skin as he placed it carefully on his workbench. Next, he retrieved a small, ornate flask, brimming with the essence of the Spirit of Vengeance—its energy wild, driven by rage and sorrow. This would add the raw fury he needed to ensure the first card didn't just hold together but erupted with strength.
Closing the Gates with a heavy sound that echoed through the chamber, Jarak turned back to the feather still floating before him. The materials he had summoned would provide the chaotic fuel necessary to take the synchronization process to the next level. If this worked, the Synchronized Lifeform created from this would be more than just a creature—it would be a force of pure chaos and destruction.
The talisman and the essence of vengeance began to hover beside the feather, glowing with untamed energy. The air crackled as Jarak funneled mana into the materials, feeling the chaotic resonance build within the ritual circle.
He focused once more, his mind wrapping around the process of synchronization, balancing chaos and order. The energy between the items swirled faster, pulling in his mana with a voracious hunger, and for a moment, Jarak felt the thin line between success and disaster.
And then… the feather blazed brighter. The synchronization process was nearing its peak. Now was the time to act.
