"There!" she pointed. "I see him!"
He nodded, and maneuvered through the aerial maze of vehicles. Moments later, a police siren wailed behind them.
"Looks like Aris came through," Gwen said.
"Good. Let's hope they slow him down."
The police sirens wailed as two hover cars joined the pursuit. Nakamura glanced back and saw them.
"Pull over immediately!" a robotic voice boomed from the lead police vehicle.
He ignored the command, accelerating and diving beneath a massive cargo hauler. The police cars split up, trying to flank him.
"Fuck, he's good," Will muttered, struggling to keep pace.
Gwen gripped the dashboard as they swerved around a passenger shuttle. "Can't you go any faster?"
"I'm trying!" Will snapped. "This thing doesn't handle like my usual ride."
Ahead, Nakamura cut across four lanes of traffic, causing a cascade of braking and swerving vehicles. One police car barely avoided a collision, falling behind.
