"Huh," Kazuo said, leaning against a dusty desk. "Small world. Any chance you've got a secret stash of cash hidden away in here?"
Amélie snorted. "I wish. But hey, maybe we could find something useful. These old banks had all sorts of hidden nooks and crannies."
"Worth a shot," Kazuo shrugged. "Not like we've got anywhere else to be right now. Lead the way, Miss Moneybags."
Amélie rolled her eyes but started moving through the office, scanning for anything familiar. "You know, I remember coming here with my mom when I was little. The tellers always gave me a lollipop."
"Ah, the good old days when banks bribed kids with sugar," Kazuo said, following behind her. "Now they just send you passive-aggressive emails about your overdraft fees."
"That's the real world for yah."
They made their way through the maze of cubicles. A stairwell at the far end caught Kazuo's eye. He nodded towards it. "Let's check upstairs."
