I carry on exploring the cave, trying to find an exit. I managed to kill another 4 lesser dream stalkers but I haven't managed to kill anything else. I did see a group of voltipedes, but when I used appraisal, I learned there was 7 of them! They might be weak, but there was no way I could fight all 7 of them at once so I turned around and ran away.
I've been using the map to make sure that i'm only exploring the parts of the cave that I hadn't been to yet, but I still haven't managed to locate an exit. I'm starting to think that the only exit is back past that giant spider, but if that's the case then I'm going to be stuck here a while.
I'm still no where near strong enough to fight that thing yet. Looking at the map, there's only one direction that I haven't explored yet. The only problem is that to get that part, I have to travel back to a cavern that the giant spider chased me through.
I've been putting off searching this particular part of the cave for this exact reason. I doubt the spider will still be waiting for me, but I can't rule out the possibility of running into it. Regardless, I can't put it off any longer, so I've been heading in that direction.
I finally make it back to the tunnel I used to escape the giant spider and pause for a bit. I try listening out for any noises, but don't hear anything. I slowly make my way through the tunnel and poke my head out of the other side. I don't see any monsters so I make my way out.
I turn back to look at the tunnel that once saved my life, and see that the opening is now a bit bigger than it was before. there's multiple cracks running through the wall and several chunks had fallen off. The giant spider must have wanted to catch me pretty bad to do that much damage to it. I'm lucky the walls are so thick, otherwise I doubt the wall would still be standing from all the attacks of the spider.
I consider using my sneak skill to carry on going but end up deciding against it. I want to avoid fighting anything at the moment because it my attract the giant spider, but the sneak skill uses to much MP and if I end up having to fight, I want to have as much MP as possible.
I slowly travel towards the cavern that I need to go to, being extra careful not to make any noises.
After around 10 minutes of traveling, I make it to the cavern without seeing any monsters. I peek into the cavern and look towards the passage way that I need to go through. It's only about 20 meters away but there are 2 lesser dream stalkers eating what appears to be a mole rate in the middle of the cavern.
I could easily kill them both, but I don't want to risk it. I decide to just use my sneak skill and make my way around them. Sneak costs 3 MP every 10 seconds, so as long as I get to the other side within a minute, I will only use around 18MP. I have 300MP at the moment so I should be fine if I have to fight later.
I activate sneak and quickly start moving. I make it about halfway when I suddenly get a system notification.
[ding!]
[sneak has levelled up to level 2]
After quickly reading the notification, I ignore it. It might have made the cost of sneak a bit better but I can check that later. I make it to the passageway and deactivate sneak. I check my MP and see that I still have 290 MP.
Compare to when I used sneak before, it really doesn't seem like it uses that much. I suppose it's because I have a lot more MP now . It just goes to show how much i've grown since I was chased from the moss rats nest.
I travel along the passageway, still being extra careful, when I notice spiderwebs are strung all over the place up ahead. I quickly check the map again to make sure I have gone the right way.
Yep I've defiantly gone the right way, so why are there spiderwebs all over the place. The only other place I've seen so many spiderwebs was the nest of the giant spider.
Could there be another one this way as well?
I really hope not otherwise I have no chance of getting out of here. I decide to use stealth again and keep going. If I see any sign of the spider I'm going to turn around and leave straight away. As long as it doesn't notice me, I should be okay.
I slowly travel down the passage, no longer caring about the cost of MP. The further I go, the more I start to think that this isn't a giants spiders nest. When I was at the giant spiders nest last time, I saw loads of bones of monsters and cocoons all over the place, but here, I haven't seen any at all. There just seems to be loads of webs all over the place making it difficult to get through.
After traveling for what seems like ages, I notice it's starting to get lighter. I pick up my pace a little bit and soon I see a light at the end of the passageway. In a wave of excitement, I run forward without thinking and step directly on a thin spiderweb that was strung just above the floor.
Strangely, the web doesn't stick to me. It simply snaps and falls to the ground.
Having released what I had done, I instantly freeze. I stand completely still for around 10 seconds, waiting to see if I can hear anything coming but I don't hear anything. Maybe this was just and old nest of the giant spider and it dint use these webs anymore.
I start making my way towards the light again, this time being more carful of the webs again. Just I get to the exit and the trees come into my line of vision, I hear a fait scurrying sound accompanied by the occasional click echoing throughout the tunnel.
The giant spider was on its way!
I instantly deactivate my stealth skill and activate dash. Without even looking back, I take of running.
I need to get as far away from here as I possibly can.
