Chapter 41 - Preparing to train.

Finally! With the confirmation from the system, it should mean that my den is in a safe place. Now I can focus on trying out some of my skills without having to worry. But first let's check my status.

Not too bad...I noticed all my stats seem to go up by 4 each time I level up now, when before I evolved they only went up by 2. The amount of skill points and stat points I get by levelling up have doubled as well, making it a bit easier for me to get stronger.

I decide i'm not going to save my stat points anymore, I end up completely forgetting about them and it just seems like a waste. Plus I feel like a lot of the monsters have been faster than me lately and I keep having to rely on dash too much.

So I put 10 points onto agility and the remaining 4 on intelligence. Hopefully now I will be faster than the wolves, making my 'training' against them easier.

I have enough skill points to buy a skill from the skill shop but I want to see some of the skills that cost more than 100 skill points, so I plan to keep saying them for now. It should be a bit easier to save now that I get 20 per level instead of only 10.

Having checked my status, its now time to see if there's anything different about my magic. Both my shadow magic and my space magic have levelled up, so i'm hoping I'm able to do something new.

First I check my shadow magic. I summon a shadow and play around with it for a bit, trying out various ideas. In the end, I can't really do anything new. It's a bit quicker to activate and bit easier to control but I still can't make any physical shapes like I hoped. I can cast it a bit further away than before though and I does cost less MP than before, so I can't complain too much.

Next I try out my space magic. Again I try out various ideas but nothing worked. I thought I might have been able to teleport objects of maybe create a storage space but unfortunately I'm unable to do either. I know it's possible because of the knowledge I gained when I acquired space magic but it seems like it's not at a high enough level.

I did find out I can teleport further now and that it costs less MP. I can now teleport 20 meters instead of 10 and it only costs 40 MP rather than 50. I was a bit confused at first because I thought the further I teleport, the more MP it would cost, just like in the novels I read. But it doesn't seem to work like that here.

If I was to explain it, it would be like taking away the space between you and your destination, rather than having to travel through it, so no matter how far you try to go your actually always going the same distance. But to take away a larger space, you need to have a better understanding of space magic which is why I can only go 20 meters with my level 2 space magic.

It's all kind of confusing but I do feel like I understood it a bit more when my level went up.

So my next goal is to try and level up my space magic again. I don't plan on doing any hunting today because I already have the pine stag to eat so I'm going to waste the rest of my MP teleporting about before I go to sleep.

I still have a couple of hours of daylight left, so I waste time walking around appraising random things trying to level up appraisal.

When it gets dark I eat most of the stag, saving some of it for the morning. I did find its magic crystal which I stored in my den only now realising that I'm going to have to start my collection again. I only had 2 before so it's not a huge loss but it is hard to collect them because I have no way of carrying them around with me.

Unless I want to bring them back to my den after every monster I kill, I can only collect 1 a day so it's a really slow progress. I still don't know what use they have but I like collecting them anyway, it reminds me of when I played adventure simulator and it's the only hobby I can really have as a fox beast.

Once I've stored the rest of the stag I teleport around a bit, wasting the rest of my MP and go to sleep for the night. Since I kept getting woke up last night by the wolves, I'm rather tired and it doesn't take me long to fall asleep.

I wake up in the morning feeling refreshed. I didn't get woken up a single time last night, making me feel like building my den here was the right choice. Today I plan to hunt a few monster and try to raise my level a bit, but i'm not planning on just one hit killing them like I did with the pine stag. I want to try using most of my skills to level them up as well and maybe even try to learn a new skill.

I want to try and gain more experience fighting, so I don't always end up feeling scared or stuck when one of my attacks don't work. I feel like I don't okay against the wind wolf, but there were definitely thing I could have done better.

Before setting out, I decide to request a quest. I still feel like quests are my ticket to getting stronger quicker, if only I don't keep failing them.

Opening the quest window, I select request quest,
