Chapter 36 - A special type of diseases, lovesickness

He heaved a long-suffering sigh. "Okay, first of all, I'm concerned about how you know all this, and second, I had to make it myself because I couldn't just feed him takeout! The man had an angiography a few days ago!"

Park rolled his eyes, looking utterly exasperated but also slightly amused. "Dude, all the gossip circulates around the interns, and they end up passing it on to me. They're my loyal spies. I've trained them to be gossip rats, sniffing out the juiciest bits from the deepest sewers-"

"...You couldn't come up with a nastier analogy?"

"Ahem. I'll kindly ignore what you just said. Anyway, don't think I didn't notice you trying to change the subject, you sneaky bastard. You're still in denial about how much you like the tall, dark, and handsome lawyer-"

"I most certainly do not," he sighed. "I have ethics. Who do you think I am? You?"

Park rolled his eyes again, throwing his hands up in frustration. "Jesus, I knowww. I'm just trying to tease you, alright? But come on, you have to admit that the lawyer is attractive. He's literally every woman's, and man's, wet dream. He's rich, dark, and handsome, with great bone structure, good build. And then there's the whole bad-boy thing going on. He still has that body, y'know. I took a sneak peek in his room."

"...I want to tell you how morally and ethically wrong that is, but it's not like you'll care anyway, so there's no point."

Park nodded shamelessly as if to confirm, yes, there was no point. Whatever he was about to say next was cut off by a sudden knock, as the door opened and a redhead stepped in. It was Yerenika, Louis' sister. Was she eavesdropping...? Elias had been a little soft on her since discovering she was Louis' sister, but right now, he couldn't be bothered.

Yerenika, who looked quite flustered and mildly embarrassed, spoke up, "Dr. Kang, your patient... Mr. Morgan in 428- he has a high fever. You're needed there."

All thoughts vanished the moment Elias heard that. He stood up at once. "...What? Fever? He had an angiography... He shouldn't be having a fever. How high, Williams? Be exact."

She was visibly rattled by his reaction, or maybe something else, as she fidgeted, shifting from one leg to the other, but answered him regardless. "104°F. He's also complaining of chills, muscle aches, and weakness. The nurse tried to get him to take some Tylenol, but he refused. He said he wants you- and only you, to treat him," she answered, her eyes darkening slightly at the last statement. But neither Elias nor Dr. Park noticed.

"...Of course, he does," Elias muttered, rolling his eyes and pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration. But his worry was evident as he grabbed his coat. "I'll be there."

Yerenika nodded. Park, who'd been silently observing the whole thing from his chair, raised his eyebrows, looking slightly amused. "Mr. Morgan is sure demanding, huh? 'You, and only you,' he says." He snickered, clearly enjoying the moment. "You know, it might be a special type of disease called lovesickness-"

Elias didn't bother responding, already heading out towards Raphael's room.
