There was light emitting beneath the trees miles from the cliff the two kaiju were standing on. It was a bright golden glow flickering every second, someone was down there and it wasn't good. The only kaiju who have wandered these quiet areas of Monster Island were Titanosaurus and Scylla, the rest like Godzilla himself rarely did and if they had to it was because of danger or an intruder. Which begs the question, was Gigan already here? Was he down there and should he warn the others immediately, though that wasn't a good idea because it was night and Gigan could have other kaiju with him. This was too dangerous and Godzilla will have to wait until morning, he had Scylla too but ambushing the enemy's base was a risky game for the two kaiju. Godzilla took note of the surroundings and waited for what Scylla had to say.
The bronze greenish kaiju coughed and looked at the giant reptile. Godzilla wished he knew earlier, after the destruction Gigan caused to some of his friends, it left kaiju like Baragon and King Caesar horrified. No doubt Gigan wasn't the only space kaiju out there, tons of evidence shows there could be a lot more working alongside him. Moreover, King Ghidorah ruled them for a longtime until Godzilla took care of him. Who's to say the space kaiju haven't found themselves a new leader? Gigan was already on the move with his plans.
"There's an intruder on Monster Island, seems like that's his hidden base."
"Scylla if three days have really passed, why-
"You were asleep."
"Huh?"
Godzilla didn't understand, of course he sleeps on daily basis what is Scylla talking about. This was getting even more confusing it was hard putting the pieces together. It can't be he was in a deep slumber while all the events were happening, he would've heard them.
"Everyone on Monster Island was asleep for three days. Mothra was away so the spell didn't affect her." Scylla turned around and began walking away, Godzilla followed after her the lizard needed answers.
"What spell? Scylla what is going on?!" Godzilla growled he just wanted Scylla to get straight to the point not drop hints.
The green kaiju stopped and looked at him. I'm keeping a distance because I know how you're going to react Godzilla. Narrowing her eyes, Scylla sighed and went on.
"All the kaiju were in a deep slumber except me. When I was going to pay Baragon a visit I noticed Anguirus was still sleeping which was odd, it was noon and knowing Anguirus he'd be jumping around like a lunatic with you and King Caesar. I thought he was tired and needed more sleep so I carried on with my day that was when I saw King Caesar passed out near the shore it was an unfortunate sight. That's when I noticed something was wrong so I carried him to land safely and decided to check on you and the rest." Scylla took a deep breathe and shot a glance at Godzilla who was looking at her in dismay, the bug kaiju knew how much Godzilla cared for his friends. The reptile getting upset was understandable.
"To my surprise you were asleep too and then something fell from the sky and blocked my vision. When I looked up I saw some strange particles coming down and a strange spiral. I couldn't confirm if I was seeing things or not because everyone else was in a deep slumber, it was a horrifying experience three days with no interaction just the sound of waves on the quiet island."
"And what about you? Why didn't the particles affect you or anything?" Godzilla was about to raise his suspicion before Scylla replied.
"I just came back from hunting maybe the nitrogen must've worn off the effects. The spiral was above the whole island I saw it from the sea, it was frightening to say the least."
Godzilla couldn't believe what he was hearing. That spiral caused all the kaiju to fall into deep slumber? What was Gigan planning behind their backs this was serious. He had to warn the others tomorrow, if the spiral was formed above Monster Island than the theories about Gigan being here was true, and the answer lies within the trees.
"Scylla we gotta go down there, but not tonight. I'll get Anguirus, Mothra and the others, meet me at the same spot, near my plant." Now that Godzilla thought about it, his plant had grown taller than before, it was shocking because to him it hasn't even been a week yet.
"Alright but there's something else I need to tell you."
"What is it Scylla?"
"Besides another kaiju there seems to be an army of some other creatures around the hidden base." Scylla looked at the glowing light before turning back to face Godzilla.
The giant reptile stared into space for a while, thinking about what this means for Monster Island. An invasion if only he had gone with Mothra, even then, they wouldn't know about what happened. At least they would be able to stop Gigan and put an end to this madness.
"We can take a closer at the base, just keep your distance." Scylla started moving off towards a trail that led to the bottom of the forest.
Taking one last glance behind him, the giant reptile followed Scylla and entered the depths of the forest. Tales of Titanosaurus roaming the forest still stuck with him, will they ever find that kaiju once and for all? This guy was a threat to every being on Monster Island, stealing food sources and inviting unwanted guests, one of them being Megaguirus who accidentally poisoned the trees that produced fruits for kaiju like Anguirus and Baragon. There were other alternatives but it was unfortunate that the two kaiju had to take a break from eating their favorite food because of some ignorant kaiju. It's a good thing Megaguirus doesn't dare to set foot on Monster Island again, at least for now.
They were getting closer to the base their surroundings fell silent. Scylla stopped and looked at Godzilla for a while expecting him to say something.
"This is it, have you thought of anything Godzilla? Do you wish to proceed further, we just have to be careful the enemy could be close there's a lot of hiding spots around here." Scylla looked around the area it was a dense forest the loudest noise was the sound of crickets. The only light sources were the fireflies and the glowing base covered by vines and bushes.
"The base, was someone hiding out here?"
"Well done Scylla that wasn't so difficult am I right?"
Godzilla recognized that voice.
Emerging from the shadows was no other than Gigan.
The giant reptile glared at Scylla in anger. How could she do this he knew the sea spider was never to be trusted. There was no way she'd easily become a true ally after everything that happened.
"You betrayed me, in fact you betrayed Monster Island and all the titans! Shame on you!" Godzilla yelled and lifted his tail up bracing himself for Gigan's potential sneak attack, the kaiju was right behind him.
"No Godzilla you trust others too easily!" Gigan sneered brushing his hooked blades. After a longtime of hiding from this powerful beast, Gigan just couldn't wait to test his skills, it seems like he had some new techniques to use.
Furious, Godzilla let out a ground-shaking roar, one loud enough to leave the forest in shambles if it continued. Even so, Gigan was amused as always and that's what Godzilla couldn't stand about the beaked kaiju.
"Let me tell you a story of how I avenged King Ghidorah." Before Godzilla could react, Gigan knocked him to the ground and slammed his foot on his left shoulder blade. The other kaiju, Scylla just watched her expression was unreadable it seems like the sea spider was determined to help Gigan carry out his plan.
"Baragon you can come out now. The show's just begun."
A familiar face came into view which made Godzilla even more furious. He glared at his so-called 'friend' and grit his teeth. "Baragon what is wrong with you!" The giant reptile didn't know what else to say, nobody could be trusted on Monster Island there was hardly any compassion between kaiju most of the time and no one took the initiative to watch over the Island when he was away. By the time he came back, those in charge were playing games or had gone elsewhere. Godzilla understood they had other responsibilities but at least get someone else to take over. Was he expected to handle everything, is that how the titans treat their King? The thought of them seeing him as nothing more than a pawn was starting to hurt him, the lack of respect he didn't know how he was going to stop Gigan now, maybe more of his friends were going to betray him like this. Godzilla got up and brushed the dirt off his shoulders and looked at Gigan his expression darkening. No matter what happens Gigan will be defeated.
Gigan noticed the change in atmosphere and smiled. Things were about to get interesting he had been waiting for this moment to happen.
"Gigan you're going to regret everything you've done!" The giant reptile ran towards him and grabbed his hooked blades, throwing him to the ground. Looking up he saw Scylla and Baragon charging towards him. Godzilla was outnumbered although, the other two weren't that much of a threat, he could handle them.
He grabbed Baragon and threw him towards Scylla sending both of them flying towards a tree trunk. Beneath his feet was Gigan struggling to get away. Godzilla growled and stepped on Gigan again, this fool was no match for him no wonder he needed backup now, wherever those kaiju were.
"You're not fit for a King Godzilla... how are you going to lead the titans when you can't even tell what day it is? No wonder your allies are more like enemies. What a pity..." Gigan rasped despite the pressure on his chest he still had room to talk.
Even though Gigan was talking nonsense, Godzilla still felt uneasy, leaving Monster Island kept ringing in his head, with images of him swimming away and settling some place else. Was he determined to leave Monser Island for good? Did he have no other choice but to move on some place else and leave his legacy behind just like that, his reputation as the King Of Monsters would be ruined. But then again did anyone really care, his friends had betrayed him for a fool who had no roots here. Seeing Gigan made him sick, he stepped on Gigan more making the annoying bird creature choke on his own saliva. Annoying little pest Godzilla thought making sure he wouldn't have to hear another babble from Gigan as of now, it was a waste of time and energy.
