Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

The moth and the lizard sat by the shore in the heavy rain. Reflecting on what happened, the fate of their island and every other kaiju's well-being. Their friend, Anguirus was always on their mind, the poor guy had suffered a burn on his back and now he was slowly turning into Destroyah's minions. The pained look on Anguirus' face was haunting.

"Hey Godzilla I just wanna say you tried your best back there." Mothra tried to reassure him he had been silent ever since they 'retreated' to one of the last safe spots on Monster Island. "We'll save them I know we can Destroyah and Gigan aren't getting away with this."

"But everyone's on their side now. As much as I want to, we need a plan and at this rate, I don't know if we should just retreat to Hollow Earth and start compiling our ideas or fight him right here and now."

Looking at the giant lizard concerningly, Mothra sighed and brushed one of her wings against Godzilla's back to calm him down. His anger was understandable but like what they always say, violence is never the answer. Mothra always stood by that which is why she was known for her calm demeanor.

"If saving Monster Island means having to move someplace else for the time being while still keeping up with our plan, I'm on it. Destroyah may be tough but we're not letting him get to our friends."

"Then let's head to Manda's I've thought of something he can help us with." Godzilla said looking up at the dull sky with cold rain droplets splashing on his snout.

"Oh you've thought of a plan already? I know it's going to work for sure no doubt." Mothra chimed.

"Yeah and once it prevails Destroyah will leave for sure that's a guarantee."

Mothra looked at the tall giant lizard in admiration. The way Godzilla finds solutions to any problem was inspiring, even though she had responsibilities too she wished the courage to fight on was within her. It seemed to leave a tingle in her heart which made the moth look away in embarrassment when Godzilla looked in her direction. He was bewildered at first but slowly started to understand Mothra's strange behavior she had been acting as such for the past few days be it during the calmest moments or battle.

Recalling past events, it seemed Mothra was like that with him for a while he just never paid much attention to it even though deep down he actually felt the same way.

"Mothra I appreciate having you by my side, let us stay this way for a longtime no matter the trials we may face along the way, for it's the trust that always unites us."

The moth looked at Godzilla in the eyes and smiled whole-heartedly. The gratefulness Godzilla felt towards their alliance and friendship made her day even though it wasn't one of the best. But somehow, regardless of what happened, now it was and she didn't know how to admit it, the giant reptile was still upset about what happened earlier but seeing the similarity in the blue gaze that she always read whenever they were on missions or just hanging out he was probably thinking the same exact thing which rid her worries.

There was something else Godzilla wanted to ask, which was about defeating Destroyah together if he got away, but he didn't want to make Mothra upset so he decided not to. Blushing, Godzilla glanced at Mothra for a while before looking away shyly.

"So what are we gonna do about Godzilla and Mothra, those two are obviously planning something." Gigan signaled to Baragon and King Caesar to fan Destroyah with the giant leaves faster in annoyance, the space kaiju couldn't believe how calm everyone was despite what happened. It left a bitter taste in his mouth and he was going to make sure something will be done he didn't want the plan to fail it was all going smoothly now.

The crustacean kaiju let out a loud screeching growl before slamming his heavy tail on the ground startling the three kaiju surrounding him.

"That's what I've been thinking fool! Can't you see that?" Destroyah spat.

"S-sorry Destroyah I just wanna make sure we're on the same page-

"You idiot! I'm more worried than you are!"

Both Baragon and King Caesar watched as the two ferocious kaiju started arguing like children, it was amusing since Gigan was a scaredy cat and Destroyah was a ruthless kaiju, how the tides have turned it seems Godzilla was more serious about his duties than these nonsensical two. In fact, they felt extremely guilty for helping Destroyah, if Godzilla doesn't act fast they may never have him as Monster Island's leader anymore. They'd have to deal with this every single day it was dreadful because thing took a while to progress and Gigan's obvious crush on Mothra wasn't helping at all.

"I thought we were a team!"

"Only if you stop complaining you cackling chicken!"

"What did you just call me?!"

"Cackling chicken yeah that's right."

"You're gonna regret saying that once Mothra and I are together!"

"Like that'll ever happen dream on!" Destroyah got off his throne and strode towards Gorosaurus requesting for a meal the argument was making him hungry and getting a bite off Gigan wasn't going to fulfill his appetite the giant kaiju was starving.

Gigan crossed his arms he couldn't stand Destroyah's both calm and cruel demeanor the kaiju had no sense of remorse. Now he was starting to think he should've picked his allies wisely dealing with the constant insults was going to be treacherous. The space kaiju started thinking of ways to leave the island once Destroyah was comfortable.

"I'll get to Mothra's heart, I just know it." Gigan quietly said to himself looking at the direction Godzilla and Mothra had gone.

And we'll leave this island together.

The crustacean kaiju returned to his throne watching Gigan sulking. He pitied Gigan for everyone knew Mothra didn't want to have anything to do with him. Especially after what happened the Queen of the Skies wouldn't bat an eye on him. Her dear friend Anguirus was severely injured because of him. Destroyah could only watch the chaos unfolding.

"Ya know, Mothra could be my queen."

"Oh shut up."

"We'd make a great team!" Destroyah sneered as Gigan flew away to one of the mountains not turning back at the gathering.
