Damian and Kyle stood at the rooftop edge, peering down at the bustling streets below, the glow of neon lights casting a surreal aura around the endless streams of traffic. The city pulsed with life, a constant buzz filling the air. They both read over the mission window one more time, silently trying to piece together a game plan.
Damian broke the silence, giving Kyle a nudge. "Hey, let's go downstairs and figure this out somewhere less...windy. I'm freezing my ass off up here."
Kyle hugged his arms and nodded, shivering. "Yeah, good call. Wind's got an edge up here."
They made their way to the rooftop exit, finding an elevator with a sleek metal panel beside it. Kyle eagerly pressed the button, but instead of the satisfying ding, there was only a shrill beep and a blinking red light.
He furrowed his brow, hammering the button again. Another beep. And again. Beep. Beep. Beep.
