Chereads / Rise of Perry Salvador / Chapter 11 - Chapter 11

Chapter 11 - Chapter 11

CHAPTER 11

Perry wanted to return home that same night, but Mr Jacob (whom he had yet to believe was his father) had pleaded with him not to. He had called Helen to inform her that he would be back the next day as he knew she would be really worried. She had expressed her concerns over the phone, but he assured her that all was well and they would discuss when he comes back.

Perry sat on the bed in the room where he had been given to spend the night. He couldn't believe what was happening in his life and somehow, a part of him still felt it was a dream and he might just wake up any moment and still find himself in The Miguel's mansion, so he had to take his time to enjoy every bit of this.

He ran his eyes across the room that looked like a hall. The room was bigger than the ones at The Miguel's mansion. The room screamed luxury and elegance and he didn't even want to think of the prices they must have bought the furnitures in it.

He lay down in the bed and he couldn't stop himself from sighing. He loved the feel of it. The bed was as soft as feathers and it felt as if he was lying on the cloud.

He couldn't comprehend the level of the riches of the Salvadors and it scared him a little. He wasn't taking the man's words to heart yet, until they had a DNA test done. He didn't want to have his hopes up and end up being disappointed.

He dozed off after a while with a thousand thoughts going through his head.

*********

Katherine walked back into the house all smiles. She had just returned from seeing Shawn off, her face red from the immense make out session she just had with him. She felt giddy within as she walked up the stairs.

'So, this is love?' She thought within her

She had just made it to the hallway when she saw her father walk out of his room.

"Hi, dad" she greeted as if she had not just been with him a few minutes ago

"Has Shawn gone?" Her father asked. Even though he knew the answer already

"Yes, he has" she replied

"Ok then, that's good" he said as he nodded his head slowly.

"Shawn is the perfect man for you Katherine, if only you had heeded my advice and not gotten married to that riff raff, then things would have been better. But that is not really an issue, we can still fix that, it would just take a little time and effort" He added and she gave out a tight lipped smile with a slow nod.

"Now, where is that wretched husband of yours?" He asked and she rolled her eyes. She had seen him come into the room when she and Shawn were 'busy'. That was the last time she had seen him.

"I don't know, he'd be around somewhere" She replied. She was clearly bored just talking about him. She didn't even know why she had actually gotten married to such a man in the first place.

"Get him here, I need to discuss something with him" He told her and she looked at him skeptically. She knew her father hated to see Perry's ass, so she couldn't understand why he was looking for him and neither could she fathom what he wanted to discuss with him.

"What are you planning to discuss with him dad?" She asked.

"Divorce" Was her father's straight answer

"Divorce?" She asked.

"Yes, divorce. The both of you need to go your separate ways. I want you to get married to Shawn. He's the best person for you now, and he's one of the most eligible bachelors in the country now. So you need to get married to him before another family gets their claws on him. And the first step to do that is to divorce that douchebag you got married to" Mr Miguel explained and Kate nodded her head with an enthusiastic smile. She drew closer and hugged her dad tight. She let him go after a while.

"I'll go look for him dad" she said as she turned to leave, but she stopped halfway. She turned back to her dad with a questioning look in her eyes.

"What if he refuses to divorce?" Kate asked her dad. She had a feeling he might actually refuse to divorce her as it was clear he would die if he leaves their lives. He had no source of income and no place to stay if they got divorced

"He will" Her father started

"But if he doesn't, I'll make him" He added and she smiled at him. She always knew she could count on her dad. She couldn't wait to get married to Shawn.

She left the hallway and she searched for Perry in the whole house, but he was nowhere to be found. She checked the places he liked to stay and hide whenever he had issues with her dad, but he wasn't there. She was about to return to her dad when she saw two maids walking towards her direction. They stopped right in front of her, bowing their heads in respect.

"Have any one of you seen Perry?" She asked and one of the girls shook her head negatively while the other nodded positively.

"Where did you see him?" She asked the girl who nodded earlier

"Uhmm, close to the gate, he had a small bag with him" she replied

"When?" Katherine asked

"I think it's about an hour or more now" She replied and Katherine scoffed. She chuckled with a roguish grin on her face. She surmised Perry had fun away so her dad couldn't force him to divorce her, but if he felt he was smart, she would show him she was smarter.

"Ok then, the both of you can go" she dismissed the maids and they scurried off.

She would show Perry that two can play the game. That was the thought she had in mind as she walked back to her room. Her dad was not in the hallway when she got there, and she didn't bother to go to his room. She just went straight to bed, as she thought of her next line of action.

**************

Perry woke up to the blinding light of the sun peering through the half opened window. He didn't remember opening the curtains, so he was a little surprised at first. He stretched his body with a yawn before coming down from the bed. He was so focused on the window that he didn't notice the woman standing close to the door.

He walked to the bathroom and rinsed his face with water. He wiped it off with a towel and he walked out of the bathroom, but he almost got a heart attack as he caught sight of the woman standing at the door, looking at him like a favorite snack or something. She looked like a clown with that look on her face.

She was a middle aged woman, roughly half the hair on her head were gray and her eyes held years of knowledge and experience. He had a feeling she was an important person in the house.

"Good morning ma'am" he greeted when he realized his mistake. He had totally lost it for a second there.

"I didn't believe when I was told, I told him I want to see for myself and now, I'm speechless" she said as she walked closer to him. She looked like she was on the verge of tears and Perry was tempted to move back, but he didn't. He just stood there and watched her draw very close and when she was close enough, she brought her hand up to his face.

He tried to maintain a stoic face, but when his cold palm touched his face, he stifled a chuckle as the action tickled him.

"You're very alike. You looked exactly like her, act exactly like her too. She loved it when I touched her chin, claimed it made her feel a kind of way" she added with a chuckle that seemed forced. She could see she was holding back her tears and running out of options of what to do, he gently pulled her into a hug, enveloping her petite frame with his body.

They stayed that way for a while, and although it was the first time Perry was seeing her, he felt as if he had known her for a while now.

"Hm..mmmmmm" Perry heard someone clear his throat and he turned to see his supposed father with a smile on his face.

He let go of the woman while he was yet to know her name or her position in the house and the woman turned to Mr Jacob Salvador.

"I thought we agreed we were coming together?" He asked with a playful glare and she chuckled, using the back of her plan to wipe the tears that had fallen off her face.

"I couldn't wait to see him" she answered and he smiled.

"It felt the same way for me too. I was overwhelmed when I saw him. I was also angry for not searching hard enough for him. Watching those people humiliate him only made me angrier" He said with a clench of his teeth and Ravena calmed him down with a pat on his back.

"It's settled now, Okay?" She asked and he nodded with a pained smile

"C'mon son, you need to take your bathe, breakfast is already set at the table"

"Uhmm, I don't think I'll be joining the both of you for dinner, I have a company to go to" He said and Jacob understood him clearly. That was enough proof that this boy was his son.
