CHAPTER SEVEN
"How dare he!That worthless trash, where is he?!" Mr Jose Miguel voiced, and at the same time Perry walked into the dining hall.
Mr Jose swiftly made his way towards him furiously and punched him hard across the face.
The blow connected neatly with Perry's face as he was not expecting him to hit him.
"That will teach you some lessons!" Mr Jose Miguel shouted with his sight fixated on perry.
Mr Jose Miguel, his father in-law has just punched him, and right where Mr Jacob Salvador sat, his eyes widened in shock as he just watched his supposed best friend treat his supposed son like trash.
"How can you be so worthless, Perry?! I told you all before I embarked on my trip that each and everyone of you should contribute at least half a million dollars to buy the most expensive wine in France, but out of everyone only you didn't contribute anything!. Mr Jose Miguel voiced out in pure anger.
Mr Jacob sslvador was one of the richest and most powerful men in the country. Mr Jose Miguel planned on making collaboration with their family's empire so he needed to treat him well in his hope and serve him the best of things.
Perry held his face in anger as he wasn't expecting Mr Jose Miguel would hit him.
"I already told Katherine that I can't afford the money.Half a million is too much for me to handle, I don't even earn such a huge amount.
"How do you intend to get money when you foolishly resigned from your stupid job?" Katherine chimed in right where she stood. Katherine's words made Mr Jose Miguel's blood boil more in anger.
"What is this I am hearing?You resigned from your job?" Mr Jose Miguel inquired, trying to get things straight.
"Yes he did!" Katherine voiced without letting Perry speak for himself.
"Aren't you ashamed, Perry? Resigning from your job when you barely have a single dollar in your account? Just how stupid can you be, Perry Salvador?" Mr Jose miguel spat in disdain.
"Me quitting my job doesn't change a thing. Even if I had the job I still won't be able to afford half a million dollars!" Perry spoke up, glaring into Mr Jose Miguel's eyes with a fearless look.
He was already used to him calling him names and abusing him, so there's literally nothing else he could do to him that would surprise him.
I don't know what my daughter saw in you that made her marry you, you are a disgrace!"Mr Jose Miguel roared.
Mr Jacob Salvador who just sat there stunned by what he had just witnessed.
The way the Miguel family made him fume in anger but he didn't let it reflect on his facial expression.
"Please, I am sorry for the inconveniences, Jacob. That's what I get when my daughter brings in a street boy as her husband." Mr Jose Miguel spoke with a smile as he sat down on a chair opposite Mr Jacob Salvador.
It's no problem at all, Jose." Mr Jacob affirmed, forcing out a smile.
"Katherine, bring the meal and come join us for dinner!" Mr Jose Miguel declared, and Katherine went straight to the kitchen and brought in the meal. And in no time, the round table was now filled with different types of foods.
The meal was served and the family began to eat, while Mr jacob would continuously glance at Perry who just stood meters away from the table.
"Why isn't your son in-law joining us for dinner?" Mr Jacob turned his gaze to Mr Jose and questioned.
"That low life? I can't eat on the same table as him. He is not in our league and not worthy to eat with us." Mr Jose responded, disgust evident in her voice.
"This is supposed to be a family dinner, right? Meaning all members are welcomed, including him." Mr Jacob sounded with a slight frown.
Hearing the words of Mr Jacob, Mr Jose's expression darkened, but he swiftly dismissed the expression and turned to face Perry.
"Then what are you waiting for, young man? Hurry up and come join us." He informed him with a sneer.
Perry approached the table and sat down on an empty seat as he began to eat hungrily.
The dinner carried on for several minutes as the family discussed business with Mr jacob and how they wished to cooperate with Mr jacobs family.
The entrance door of the dinner hall swung open and in came a striking young man. He was clad in an expensive suit and was looking really handsome.
"Good evening, everyone." Shawn Pane greeted as he walked towards the table and sat down beside Katherine. Perry sat there as he watched the duo glanced at each other while smiling shamelessly. Perry clenched his fists tightly, but there was nothing he could do in order to watch.
"This is Shawn Pane, the only son of Demitri Pane and the heir of the family." Mr Jose introduced while glancing at Shawn in adoration.
"Nice to finally meet you, sir. I have heard so much about you, and I am sure by the time we both depart from here we would have made some profitable agreements." Shawn muttered, his gaze fixated on Mr Jacob who just smiled back at him without uttering a word.
