Raicko had just parked his bicycle when suddenly he heard a motor roaring behind him. Before he could turn around to look, he had to quickly dodge behind another car as the back of a red car collided with his bicycle.
There was a loud crash, and the impact sent his bicycle flying.
"Who the hell is this? Raicko thought to himself, "This person is so rich that they crashed into my bicycle with their new car just to fight for this parking space."
Raicko was surprised as he looked towards the red car and saw a woman step out. She appeared to be in her twenties, wearing a white dress shirt and a tight black miniskirt. She was lovely but had too much makeup on.
She dashed to the back of her car and gasped when she saw the scratches. She turned around and threw a tantrum at Raicko, kicking him while scolding him, "Are you blind? I just bought this car, and it's all scratched up!"
She was the one who backed into Raicko's bicycle because of her poor driving skills, but she dared to blame him.
Raicko frowned and stepped aside, dodging her kick. The woman kicked the air and lost her balance. She stumbled and fell against her car.
"What's going on?"
Just as Raicko was about to say something, Ethan came running. When he saw the woman, he was stunned. He quickly smiled pleasantly as he greeted her, "Mrs. Willson."
The woman was named Hera Willson. She served as secretary to resident Avery at the Dragon's Palace Conglomerate. To Ethan, she was a VIP.
Hera didn't bother to look at Ethan but ordered, "This bum scratched my car. Beat him up!"
Ethan saw what happened, but since Mrs. Willson had given an order, he had to obey unconditionally. He roared and raised his baton to lunge at Raicko.
Raicko never expected Hera to be so irrational. Even Ethan wanted to beat her up without giving her a chance to say anything. He found it ridiculous. He lifted his leg and kicked Ethan.
"Hmph. How dare you hit me back?!" Ethan landed heavily on his backside. The pain was so intense that he broke out into a cold sweat.
"Go. All of you beat him up!"
The few other security guards charged forward.
They did not know what had happened. They felt as if a log had hit them and fallen to the ground.
Hera never expected Raicko to handle the security guards so easily. She hid behind her car anxiously, shouting, "Don't come any closer! You... Help! Someone is breaking the law in broad daylight and hitting people!"
During lunchtime, many people entered and left the building.
They came running when they heard Hera shouting for help.
After hearing Hera's account of what had happened, some male employees immediately rolled up their sleeves. Despite their cries for a fight, no one intervened.
A few security guards were still lying on the ground. The male employees were business elites and naturally skilled at physical confrontation. They were just putting on a show to leave a favorable impression on Hera.
The crowd grew massive. Raicko didn't want to cause a scene, so he picked up his phone and told Hera, "Wait. Let me make a call to have your president come pick me up."
Hera burst out laughing. She said, "Haha! Hobo, who do you think you are? You're so shameless. Do you think you can make a call to have President Avery come personally?"
The crowd responded in agreement, "Exactly. He must be crazy."
"Definitely. Did he pick up his phone from the trash bin?"
Although they mocked him, no one approached him again.
Hera suppressed her anger and scoffed, "Sure. I'd like to see how he can bring President Avery here!"
Raicko muttered on the phone in front of everyone and then hung up.
Someone immediately mocked, "Wow. Is this guy sent here to act foolish? With a few lines, our president will be here!"
"Only Mrs. Willson is like that. If it were me, I would have dragged him to the security room and punished him."
As disdainful comments filled the air, Hera raised her hand, wanting to shout an order after waiting for a moment.
Suddenly, they heard heels clicking on the floor. The lobby behind them echoed with hurried footsteps. Everyone turned to look.
Then they saw President Avery, the goddess of their hearts. She looked nervous and, in a hurry, anxiously rushing in their direction. What happened to the dignified demeanor of a president with a net worth of millions of dollars? She lacked her usual elegance and behavior.
Black stockings covered President Avery's long, well-shaped legs. As she hurried down the stairs, she twisted her ankle and plopped on the floor.
Gasps! Everyone was left speechless. Their hearts sank as they heard her knees land on the floor with a dull thud. Some of them sensed that President Avery must have sustained an injury to her knees. None of her heels were visible.
Upon observing President Avery's situation, Hera quickly rushed to help her up from the ground. Avery almost fainted from the pain, but she couldn't be bothered. She pushed Hera away and ran towards Raicko. She bowed and greeted him with a trembling voice. "Mr. Ryller, I'm sorry. It's all my fault."
"It's not your fault," Raicko replied calmly. He didn't blame Avery at all. He had told Melrose before coming that he didn't want anyone to greet him or welcome him. All he needed to do was make a call to the receptionist to request her presence. Who would have guessed he would encounter such drama?
Raicko had no choice but to call Melrose to explain the situation. Melrose listened to what happened and became furious. She immediately called Avery and asked her how she'd like to die to make up for her mistake.
Avery was stunned. She was the only one in the nation who knew why Melrose wanted to establish the Dragon Palace Conglomerate in Nebula. She had looked at Raicko's photo countless times, dreaming of meeting him.
Avery only found out what Hera had done when she received Melrose's call. She was terrified. All she could focus on was sprinting down as quickly as possible.
Since Raicko didn't blame Avery, she could finally relax. She took a deep breath and looked at Hera. Seeing Avery bow respectfully to Raicko, Hera's mind went blank.
Ethan and the rest of the security guards were trembling with fear, looking as pale as a sheet. As for the crowd that was mocking Raicko before, they dispersed the moment the situation unraveled.
Hera and all of you, pack your things and leave! Now!" Avery gritted through clenched teeth.
Hera collapsed to the floor, pleading, "President, please forgive me. Please, give me another chance!"
Avery ignored her and gestured for Raicko to enter the building with reverence.
Raicko was about to reach the elevator when Avery immediately took off her remaining high heel to press the elevator call button for him.
The elevator stopped at the top level of the Dragon Palace Building. On one level, there were more than ten rooms, as well as over ten brave bodyguards working solely for Melrose.
Everyone saw Avery's state. Despite her state, Avery was leading a young man towards her boss's room with reverence. They were surprised to see it, but no one dared to ask.
"Please wait," Avery said as she approached the door at the east end of the building. She wanted to knock, but the door suddenly opened.
A hand reached out and grabbed Raicko's neck with precision, then pulled him into the room.
Avery was stunned. In the next moment, she saw Melrose kneeling before Raicko, embracing his legs. She was crying, sobbing, and leaning against his knees.
