Victor Nathan was seated in his home office with his butler seated opposite his desk. His face was engrossed with anger and pain; he couldn't believe the people he left in charge of his company were stealing from him.
"Master, I don't know who is behind this. I have tried to find out, but I can't." His butler, Aarron Jones, uttered.
"Have you talked to the manager, Xavier? What's his response ?"
"Xavier told me he had no idea, and he promised to find and fish out whoever is responsible for it," Aaron replied.
Victor Nathan slammed his hand on the desk, with his eyes blazing with rage and his face turned red. "What nonsense; I want to know who is responsible for this, and I want that person to be sent to prison. How can someone in my company steal from me?"
"Master, we need to look for someone we trust and make him our inside man."
"I have an idea, Aaron.".
"What is it, master?" Aaron asked in curiosity with his gaze fixated at his master.
"I have someone who we can send to help us watch what is happening inside."
"Who is it and can we trust him?"
"Yes, I can trust him." Mr Victor uttered confidently.
Suddenly, a Subtle knock was perceived at the door. "Go check who it is," Victor commanded.
Without hesitation, Aaron got up and briskly walked towards the door. He swung the door open and found Donald standing behind with a calm demeanor.
"I am here to see Mr. Victor. He sent for me." He said politely.
Aaron darted towards Mr. Victor, who gave him an approving nod; he parted the door widely as he stepped aside for Donald, who ambled inside. Aaron closed the door and walked towards his seat.
"Good evening, Mr. Victor," Donald said with his head bent slightly.
"Good evening, Donald. Please, have a seat." He said pointing at the second chair opposite his desk.
"Thank you," Donald retorted as he made his way towards the chair, and rested his waist on it.
Mr. Victor has mixed feelings that were boiling within him, His anger was evident in his eyes. He exhaled softly before he mouthed. "Donald, I call you here for a reason." He said softly.
"What is it," Donald muttered, with his gaze switching from Aaron to Mr. Victor.
"There is a problem at my company, and I need your help. Someone from inside the company is stealing funds, and I don't know who is responsible. I want you to work as an undercover agent for me, you will be an inside man for me. Keep me updated with everything that happens and help me get some important documents."
Donald was a bit confused, he peered at Mr. Victor. "How."
Mr Victor sniffed softly, "There is a vacant space at my company; they are in need of a janitor. You will apply for the position." He brought out an envelope from his drawer. "Here is a bank card and inside it is five million dollars. It's yours. Aaron will get you a place downtown, where you will stay for the task. I don't want anyone to know you work for me. If you succeed in getting me what I want, I will give you a hundred million dollars and a share in my company."
Donald's jaw dropped when he heard the large sum of money. But he taught about the mission he was embarking on; he knew it wouldn't be an easy task. But he would give it a trial to help Mr Victor Nathan expose the culprit.
"Are you going to help me? I am willing to accept any of your responses. I understand the risk ahead but I need your help." Mr. Victor Nathan said.
Donald, who had already made up his mind, gave him a nod, "Yes, I am going to help you." He retorted.
"Thank you, Donald," he said.
Mr. Victor had everything prepared; he brought out a file and slid it towards Donald.
"Open it," he said.
Donald opens the file before him, his eyes skimming through the pages.
"I want you to know I am serious about paying you a hundred million dollars if we succeed. So I want you to sign, this is our agreement."
Donald paused, he inhaled deeply. "What if I didn't succeed, will I get thrown out of the house, or will there be any consequences?"
Mr. Victor leaned forward, "Donald, I trust you and I know you can't fail me. But if it should happen, I will never send you away." He reassured him.
"I will not fail you, I just wanted to know. I am willing to give it my all, to help you save your company. It's a promise." Donald said confidently.
He took the pen that was beside the desk and appended his signature on the space to seal the deal.
