Nan Bingyu was about to ask something else when the lights in the emergency room suddenly went out, and Chi Yue was the first to rush over.
It was a close call, but Bai Qing was not in danger of losing her life.
Together, they managed to get her settled back in the ward, and Chi Yue called the nurse back. Both of them left after Bai Qing was out of danger.
Nan Bingyu felt for Chi Yue. She had just broken up and then encountered such an incident; it seemed like she hadn't had one thing go right these past few days.
Suddenly, an idea flashed through her mind, and she pulled Chi Yue into the car, "I'm taking you to a place."
Chi Yue, who had just been worn out by Fu Rongyin and had been at the hospital for so long, just wanted to go home, "Maybe next time, I want to sleep."
"Sleep, you can sleep whenever you want later; leave the rest to me."
Chi Yue was reluctant, "Take me home first."
"I'll take you there for a quick look and then take you home, really, you'll thank me."
Chi Yue knew Nan Bingyu wouldn't hurt her, so she let her have her way.
Outside the nightclub, Chi Yue was pulled out of the car by Nan Bingyu and forcibly taken inside. After winding through the place, they finally stopped in front of a small pool.
Chi Yue looked at her, puzzled.
Nan Bingyu explained, "This is the Luck Changing Pool. Just do as I tell you, and everything will definitely get better."
Chi Yue didn't move.
Nan Bingyu urged her, "Go on, walk three circles to the left, three to the right, then make a wish and toss a coin into the Wishing Pool, and your luck will change."
Having no other choice, Chi Yue took the coin and did as Nan Bingyu said, making a wish as she tossed the coin into the swimming pool, then pulled Nan Bingyu away without looking back.
Little did they know, this scene was fully observed from the upstairs private room.
Chu Shuo took Chi Yue to the hospital and then came here, never expecting to see her in this place. As he looked away, he noticed that Fu Rongyin was also watching Chi Yue.
"Master, do you know her?"
"Fu Rao's ex-girlfriend, they just broke up."
A flash of surprise crossed Chu Shuo's eyes, and then he recalled Fu Rao's reaction at the wedding, saying, "That kid Fu Rao is quite lucky with women, but with the Qin Family's restrictions on him, he'll probably have to tone it down a lot."
Fu Rongyin didn't join the conversation.
Chu Shuo glanced at Chi Yue again and saw her leaving with Nan Bingyu. He put down his glass, "I'll be back soon."
On the sofa in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows, Fu Rongyin's gaze was cold as he looked in the direction of the backyard, lost in thought.
As Chi Yue and Nan Bingyu were passing through the dance floor, they were stopped by a few brawny men.
"Hey, beautiful, have a drink before you leave?"
Chi Yue noticed that their hands were empty; she pulled Nan Bingyu back cautiously.
But with each step they took backward, the brawny men advanced.
Nan Bingyu had always been haughty. She grabbed a bottle, smashed it, and pointed it at the leader, "I'd advise you guys not to come any closer; you can't afford the consequences."
Chi Yue knew that if Nan Bingyu promised to strike, she definitely would. She wasn't worried, for Nan Bingyu had never lost a fight with her black belt in Taekwondo.
But the brawny men didn't know that.
The leader laughed shamelessly, making lewd gestures as he approached, "I'd like to see who can't afford... Fuck! Damn bitch, get her!"
The glass shards in Nan Bingyu's hand swept across the arm of the leader, drawing out a blurry bloodstain. The remaining thugs rushed in when they saw this.
Nan Bingyu immediately pushed Chi Yue out, "Get help."
However, she pushed too hard, and Chi Yue bumped into someone nearby, hitting the bar, making her head spin. She stumbled back a few steps and found herself falling into a familiar embrace.
As she tried to look up to see the person's face, her vision darkened, and she fainted.
When she opened her eyes again, she was lying on a bed in a hotel, and her strong sense of defense made her bolt upright immediately.
"Awake?"
Chi Yue paused and looked toward the sofa.
"Mr. Fu?"
