"Luna, l'm your personal maid. You can call me anytime you need anything. And I'm here to tell you that breakfast will be ready in 15 minutes," she said politely.
"Thank you, but I don't need a personal maid. You can call me Alina," I said with a smile.
"I'm sorry, Luna, but it's my duty to serve you," she said, looking embarrassed.
"It's okay, don't worry about it.
What's your name?" I asked her.
"I'm Lily, Luna," she said shyly. "Lily, that's a lovely name. Listen, do you mind if I join you? I'm bored of staying in this room all the time," I said, hoping to make a friend.
"Of course not, Luna. You're welcome to come with me. If you want, I can show you around the mansion until breakfast is ready," she said, brightening up.
"That would be great," I said, feeling excited.
She led me downstairs and I was amazed by the size and beauty of the mansion. It looked like a palace.
"You're welcome," she said, noticing my awe.
"This place is incredible. It's so spacious and elegant," I said, admiring the architecture and the decor.
"It is. There's a lot to see here. Let's start with this hall," she said, pointing to a large room.
"This is the main hall, where guests are welcomed and entertained. There's a reception desk, a grand staircase, and some paintings and statues that are very valuable," she said, showing me around.
I looked up and saw a huge chandelier hanging from the ceiling. It sparkled with crystals and lights. And the paintings on the walls were stunning. They looked like they were alive.
"These paintings are amazing. They're so realistic," I said, touching one gently. "Yes, they are by famous artists from different eras and styles.
Alpha Luciano has a great appreciation for art and he collects them from all over the world," she said, smiling.
"Wow, indeed there is no doubt! I said, impressed.
"Come on, let's go upstairs. That's where the bedrooms and the library are," she said, taking me to the staircase.
"Do you want to see the bedrooms?" she calmly asked me.
"No, thank you. I don't want to intrude on anyone's privacy.
Let's go to the library instead," I said politely.
"Okay, sure," she said, nodding.
"This is the library, where you can find thousands of books on various topics and genres," she said, opening a door to a huge room filled with shelves and books.
I was amazed by the library. It was like a paradise for book lovers. The library was spacious with high ceilings and large windows that allowed plenty of natural light to flood the space. The walls were lined with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves that were filled with an impressive collection of books, ranging from classic literature to modern bestsellers.
The room was furnished with comfortable armchairs and sofas, perfect for settling in with a good book. The decor was elegant and traditional, with rich wooden paneling and intricate mouldings adding to the room's grandeur.
"This is incredible," I said, browsing through the books.
"Does Alpha Luciano like books?" I asked Lily.
"Yes, he does. He has a passion for art and literature. He especially likes historical books," she answered.
I walked around and saw many books on history, from ancient to modern times. There were also books on hybrids, magic, and other supernatural topics. I felt a strong curiosity to read them.
"Luna, I'm sorry to interrupt you, but Alpha Luciano is waiting for you for breakfast," another maid said, coming into the library.
"Okay, thank you," I said, putting down the book I was holding.
Alpha Luciano's Pov
I didn't trust her, even after she signed the contract. I assigned Beta Mikasa to watch her every move. I thought she might be loyal, but I was wrong.
She betrayed me to her friend. Did she really think I wouldn't find out if she spilled my secret?
I felt a surge of rage at her deception, at her lie. I despise liars. Mikasa kept me updated and I ordered him to bring her to me as soon as possible. But that wasn't enough for her.
My anger reached its peak when I overheard her talking to her father from my office phone. She came here to spy on me, to report to her father. She was pretending all along, with me, with Alpha Luciano.
I swept the items off my desk in a fit of fury. I detest innocent faces with evil motives. She was playing with me. Fine!
I chuckled and leaned back on my chair. Now the real game would begin!
I wanted to see how far she would go. But first, I had to teach her a lesson. She would regret signing a contract with me.
I would also use her until I showed everyone and made them believe that she was my mate, especially to my fucking uncle. I was interrupted by a knock on the door and saw Mikasa standing there.
"Ugh! That girl is such a pain." Mikasa complained.
"Who?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"That Luna's friend, what's her name? Oh! Millie!" He said, recalling. "What did she do?" I asked.
"Nothing, I just had to carry her to her bedroom." He said, rubbing the back of his neck.
"It looks like you liked her!" I teased, wiggling my eyebrow.
"No! That's not it, she is just too rebellious and I love these types of people."
He said, smirking. "You jerk, treat her gently, don't scare her off." I warned him.
"Look who's talking! The one who frightens women!" He said, hiding his smile. I threw the file at his face.
"Get lost!" I growled.
"Now, back to the topic. Did you know that Alina's father wanted to find out about me and expose me in front of everyone?" I said. "Seriously? That damn bastard?
How did he have the nerve to even think of exposing you? I will tear him apart." He growled.
"That's the problem, he can't do anything himself, so he sent his daughter to spy on me." I said, banging the table.
"Are you sure she is involved in all this?" Mikasa asked skeptically.
"Of course! He called her and asked her to report to him. She is his daughter after all. She will side with her father." I replied, getting angry.
"But from what I saw, it seemed different." Mikasa said, but a knock on the door interrupted our conversation.
"Enter!" I commanded.
A small head peeked through the door.
"Hey! Have you seen my friend?"
A girl asked. "Who are you?" I snapped.
"Uh wait wait! Alpha! She is Millie!" He said, raising his eyebrows and I rolled my eyes.
Why was this jerk looking nervous? Damn! Everyone was after pu*sy.
"I will handle her." He said and left the room quickly.
I didn't know how it felt to like someone and feel loved. I thought as I looked at the file. "It's because we haven't found our mate. And the worst part is that even if she is near us, we can't sense or feel her." My wolf said, getting restless.
"I know we don't need one. Women are our weakness, they make us vulnerable." I stated.
"I can't stay mateless anymore. I can't control myself. No woman can satisfy me now." My wolf said, getting wild.
"But I don't need a mate. I have enough women to please me." I argued. I felt a cold silence in my mind.
My wolf had stopped talking to me. For months, we had been at odds, his feral instincts growing stronger every day. He wanted me to find a mate, but that was impossible for us. We are doomed or cursed.
l adjusted my suit and headed downstairs for breakfast. I expected to see Alina there, but she was nowhere in sight. She was my Luna, but she acted like she was above everyone else.
She only came when I summoned her. I sent a maid to fetch her and teach her some manners.
The table was set and the rest of the pack was seated. Everyone except Alina. Millie and Mikasa were next to each other, whispering and giggling. What was wrong with them?
I took my place at the head of the table and met the gaze of my uncle Russ. He glared at me with hatred, but quickly changed his expression when I looked back at him. I knew he must be plotting something against me but unfortunately he would fail. He was nothing in front of me.
"Where is your Luna, Alpha? We are all here, but it seems she is not interested in joining you." He smirked mockingly. Fucking bastard.
"She's on her way. She's just tired." I clenched my jaw.
"Oh, I see." He gave me an ugly smile. I clenched my fist and felt the fear radiating from the others.
"Luna is here!" Mikasa announced, diverting everyone's attention.
