Chapter 12 - Opposing Dominance

Alina's POV--

I stormed into my room after dinner, but found a bunch of maids rummaging through my closet. They were stuffing my new clothes into suitcases and boxes.

"What's going on here?" I asked, feeling confused and annoyed.

The maids looked up and bowed their heads respectfully. "Alpha Dominic has ordered us to move your things to his room, miss," Lily explained.

I felt a surge of anger. How dare he? He didn't even bother to ask me. He just pretended to look normal and forced smile on my face as I couldn't let the maids know how I felt. They might suspect something was wrong.

I left them to their work and headed straight to Alpha's office.

I barged in without knocking, interrupting his paperwork. He looked up and raised an eyebrow. I marched up to his desk and slammed my hands on it.

"What do you think you're doing?" | yelled at him.

He feigned innocence and confusion.

"What do you mean?" He asked calmly.

I rolled my eyes in frustration. "Why are you moving my stuff to your room?" I asked.

He smirked and leaned back in his chair.

"Why do you think? Because you're going to stay there with me, of course," he said.

I glared at him in disbelief.

"Well, I don't want to stay with you in the same room!" I declared angrily. He rose from his chair and walked towards me, closing the distance between us.

"You don't have a choice, you have an obligation. You signed a contract and it says you have to stay with me," he said, his voice cold and commanding.

"You're supposed to be my wife and act like one.

You'll sleep with me. You'll hug me.

And you'll kiss me."

He lowered his head to my neck, making me shiver. His breath was warm on my skin. My legs felt weak. My face flushed and he noticed. My wolf stirred inside me, wanting more.

" You should be glad you are getting a chance to be my wife.

Many girls are dying to sleep with me. I wouldn't let a girl like you to even come close to me, you are even come close to me, you are not my type. You'll be my wife in public but a stranger in private," he whispered in my ear and pulled away.

I felt humiliated and angry. How could he get so close to me and then reject me like that?

He smirked at me and met my eyes. I looked away in disgust.

He had no right to insult me.

He had no right to order me around. I knew we had a contract but he should have at least asked for my consent.

"Who are you to judge my worth?" I snapped at him.

He laughed and circled around me like a predator.

"But it seems like you and your wolf can't resist me," he taunted me with a smirk.

l averted my eyes from his, feeling the sting of his words. He was right; I had lost my control.

But I had to ask him one thing.

"Fine! If you hate me so much then why are you moving me into your room so soon?" I challenged him, meeting his gaze.

He looked away and scratched his chin. "Because of the pack members," he explained. "They are suspicious of our relationship.

So, to show them that you are my mate, we have to do this." I glared at him defiantly.

"Okay, if we have to do this to fool them, then I'm in," I said.

He raised his eyebrows in surprise and studied me closely.

"Good. I'll see you tonight, my wife," he joked and I rolled my eyes.

I spun around and stormed out of the room.

I went to my room and found that maids were gone, it meant that my clothes were shifted. I sighed and sat on the bed. My mind was in turmoil. Why didn't I think before signing a contract that I would have to share a room with him?

I couldn't handle him at night. It was tough enough to put up with him during the day.

I thought he was decent but I was wrong. He was always mad at me only because my father was his enemy.

My heart was thumping as I thought about the night. How would we manage? How would I share a bed with him?

"Calm down, Alina. We have to just act," Sophia said.

"I can't deny he is arrogant, but I don't know why I feel sparks when he comes closer to me," she admitted.

"Ohh God! Sophia, we can't let him make fun of us. He knew very well that his teasing had an effect on me." I said, trying to make her understand.

"I am sorry Alina" she apologized.

I checked the time and it was already 11 pm. I had to go to the room now.

I gathered my courage and fixed my hair. I had to show him that I was not weak. If he wanted to play the game, then I would show him how the real games were played.

I strolled to the hallway. Soon I arrived at his room. It was located in a separate area, more secluded than the rest of the rooms.

What else could one expect from this mysterious man? I giggled at my own thoughts and unlocked the room with the key that Lily gave me while she was moving my things.

I felt a chill as I stepped into the dark and gloomy room.

But No doubt Alpha's room was a sight to behold. The walls were adorned with dark tapestries that depicted scenes of battles and hunts, while the floor was covered in a plush, black rug that felt soft under my feet. The centerpiece of the room was a massive king-size bed with black satin sheets and a towering headboard carved with intricate patterns. The bed was accompanied by two matching nightstands with silver handles that gleamed in the light.

The room also featured a mahogany dresser with six drawers and a large mirror. On the wall opposite the bed hanged a large painting of a snarling grey wolf, surrounded by a black frame. I had never saw such a room before. The room depicted the dark yet so sophisticated.

I moved further and scanned the room. The room was dimly lit by a single chandelier that hung from the ceiling, casting eerie shadows on the walls. A large, ornate desk sat in one corner, cluttered with papers and books.

How could anyone live in such a place? I thought to myself. I looked around to find the switch and turned on the lights, hoping to dispel the shadows. Now the room looked less scary now, but still cold and unwelcoming.

I walked to the other side of the room, where a large wardrobe stood. I opened it, hoping to find some comfortable clothes to change into.

I breathed a sigh of relief as I saw that all my belongings were neatly arranged in the spacious wardrobe. I rummaged through the hangers, looking for something comfortable to wear for the night. But all I could find were silky nightgowns in various colors and styles. I frowned, feeling out of place. I was not used to wearing such night gowns, but I had no choice. I wished I had brought some of my own clothes with me, especially my cozy shorts and T-shirts that made me feel at home.

I decided to go with a long black gown that looked elegant and modest. I laid it on the bed and walked over to the dressing table.

I saw his cologne and his keys on the polished surface. I placed my makeup kit beside his things, trying to make some space for myself.

After putting my makeup, I quickly undressed myself and tossed my dress on the bed. I reached for the night gown, hoping it would fit me well. But before I could put it on, the door swung open with a loud bang. It was the time when my eyes met with Alpha. He was standing on the door while his brows raised in shock. I gasped and turned around, clutching the gown to my chest. I screamed and hid behind the bed, hoping he would not see me.

He looked at me with wide eyes and closed the door again with a mumbled apology.

My heart was pounding in my chest and my cheeks were burning with shame. I cursed myself for not locking the door.

He must have seen everything. I felt exposed and vulnerable in front of him. I quickly slipped into the dress, feeling the silky fabric caress my skin. I wished I could disappear or rewind time.
