Previously ,we were in for a karaoke evening and also making a couple.but then! Kaijus strike and mei can't ignore them ,so now we are under time pause and the ones moving are me and mei .Now I am in an intense situation from a lovely one
As Mei deployed the time pause barrier, she dashed outside to engage the kaijus under her time pause barrier, and I hurried after her, trying to take in the chaotic scene. Two kaijus were lurking in the building right next to ours. As soon as I stepped outside, the sounds of clashing and shattering echoed through the air. Within moments, Mei had already thrown one of the kaijus outside, her focus still on the more powerful one inside.
She barely glanced back at me, her voice hurried. "Izumi, do me a favor. Fight the kaiju near you. If you feel like you can't defeat it, just stall for time until I finish with mine."
I swallowed hard and nodded, trying to muster some confidence. "O-okay."
The kaiju before me snarled, its eyes glowing with a dangerous light. I quickly called upon my powers, "Demonic Arts Level 4: Lightning!" But once again, nothing happened. Panic started to creep in.
"Wait, what is going on?" I muttered under my breath, frustration evident.
The kaiju lunged at me with terrifying speed. I barely managed to dodge its first attack, and before I could regroup, it was already launching its next assault. I was constantly on the defensive, struggling to keep up with its relentless attacks. Every time I tried to switch to offense, it was just too fast, keeping me on the back foot.
I could hear Mei's voice faintly over the chaos. "What are you doing, Izumi?"
"I can't use my lightning powers!" I shouted back, dodging another swipe from the kaiju.
"Keep trying! Call it again and again!"
I nodded, gritting my teeth. "Demonic Arts Level 2: Water!" This time, water gushed from my fists, and to my surprise, tiny sparkles began to appear as well. I took a deep breath, pushing myself forward. "Demonic Arts Level 3: Sparkle!"
The sparkles intertwined with the water, forming a spiral around my fist as I charged at the kaiju. Our battle turned into a flurry of movements—dashing to the left, then right, exchanging blows at a blistering pace. The kaiju was relentless, dodging my punches and firing its own with brutal precision. It felt like I was fighting a mirror; every time I tried to land a hit, the kaiju was already countering or evading.
Finally, I saw an opening. I lunged forward, focusing all my energy into a single punch. But the kaiju, seemingly reading my move, gathered energy into its own fist. We collided in midair, our fists meeting with a bone-shaking impact. For a brief moment, it felt like I might overpower it, but then the kaiju's strength overwhelmed me. Its punch sent me flying backward, skidding across the ground.
Before I could fully recover, the kaiju was on me again, rampaging with ferocity. I tried to defend, but its attacks were too fast, too powerful. My clothes tore, the fabric ripping away from my shoulders as its claws tore into my skin. I could feel the hot sting of blood, the pain radiating from wounds that were already beginning to cover my body.
The kaiju grabbed me with one of its massive hands, lifting me off the ground. I struggled to break free, but its grip was ironclad. With a roar, it hurled me into the air, then dashed after me, slamming me into the ground with terrifying force. The impact knocked the wind out of me, and I felt a sharp pain in my side—ribs, maybe one or two of them, were definitely broken. My vision blurred, but I could still hear the clash of Mei's battle, her fight with the other kaiju growing more intense. I knew I had to get up, had to keep fighting, but my body was barely responding. I gritted my teeth, trying to push through the sting. The kaiju wasn't giving me any time to recover, and I knew that if I didn't act fast, this fight would be over—and not in my favor.
I called out in desperation, "Demonic Arts Level 3: Sparkle!" The sparkles reappeared, mingling with the water, forming a drill-like spiral around my fist. But before I could even attempt to strike, the kaiju was already closing in on me. I dodged to the side, but its speed was overwhelming, leaving me barely able to keep up.
I tried to counter with a punch of my own, but the kaiju dodged it effortlessly, responding with a flurry of strikes that sent me reeling. My vision darkened for a moment as I struggled to stay on my feet. The kaiju lunged again, and I barely managed to block the attack, though the impact sent a shockwave through my body. I could feel my strength waning, and the sting in my wounds growing more intense.
But I couldn't give up now—not when Mei was still fighting, not when the stakes were this high. I gritted my teeth, forcing myself to stand and face the kaiju once more. This was a battle I couldn't afford to lose.
The kaiju and I clashed once more, but I was reaching my limit. My legs and arms trembled, barely holding on as my energy drained away. Every breath felt like a struggle, and I could hardly keep my stance. But I wasn't ready to give up. I couldn't give up.
The kaiju, sensing my weakness, began to prepare another focused punch. I could see its blueish-white aura gathering in its fist, glowing ominously. It crouched slightly, then launched itself at me with terrifying speed. The air around me crackled with energy as it closed in.
Just as I braced myself for the inevitable impact, a voice cut through the tension. "That's enough!" Mei's calm but threatening tone held an unmistakable authority, making the air around us heavy with her presence. The kaiju stopped in its tracks, hesitating for the first time.
It turned to Mei, who stood at the entrance, holding the severed head of the other kaiju by its hair. Her expression was cold, and she tossed the head aside as it disintegrated into mist. "Now it's your turn," she declared, her voice icy.
The remaining kaiju visibly trembled, overwhelmed by Mei's aura and the sight of its defeated boss. It started making fearful noises, a stark contrast to its earlier aggression.
"You've caused enough trouble," Mei continued, her eyes narrowing. "Now, it's time you pay for it."
The kaiju panicked and turned to flee, desperate to escape its fate. It dashed away, putting as much distance as it could between itself and Mei. But Mei wasn't about to let it go. She watched it retreat for a moment, then calmly raised her hand.
"Demonic Arts Level 96: Green Aistia," she intoned, her aura shifting from red to a vibrant green. The energy around her intensified as she locked onto the fleeing kaiju.
A beam of green light began to form, growing brighter and brighter until it filled the entire area with its glow. The sheer power radiating from it was staggering. With a final burst of energy, Mei released the beam. It shot forward with blinding speed, and within a fraction of a second, the kaiju vanished—obliterated by the overwhelming force.
The ground where the kaiju had been was left scorched, a deep trail dug into the earth by the beam's destructive path. The road itself had been torn apart, leaving a jagged scar in its wake. Mei remained under the shadow of the building, her expression unchanged as the remnants of her attack faded.
I could only watch in awe, my legs finally giving out beneath me. The fight was over, but the weight of the battle still hung heavy in the air. Mei had saved me, but the sheer power she wielded left me speechless.
As I staggered to my feet, still feeling the aftereffects of the fight, I forced myself to walk towards Mei. My legs were shaky, but they held up as I approached her. As I got closer, I noticed something unusual. Mei's appearance in her Green Aistia form... it was different.
She looked a bit more mature. Her chest seemed bustier, her height a little taller, and even her thighs appeared thicker than usual. It was subtle, but noticeable enough to make me do a double-take. Before I could fully process the change, she untransformed, her aura fading back to its usual form.
Mei looked at me with a hint of concern. "You alright?" she asked, her voice softer now.
"Yeah... just a little banged up," I replied, wincing slightly as I rubbed my side. "You really saved me back there."
She smiled faintly. "I told you I'd handle it if things got out of control. You did well holding it off, though."
"Thanks," I said, feeling a mix of relief and exhaustion. "But what about you? That form... It made you look a bit... different."
Mei raised an eyebrow, a small smirk playing on her lips. "Different? How so?"
I scratched the back of my head, unsure of how to phrase it without sounding weird. "You know, just... more mature. Taller, and, uh, you know... other things."
Mei chuckled, the sound lightening the tension in the air. "Green Aistia is a high-power-consuming form. It specializes in boosting speed and ranged attacks by a huge amount. But it also makes the user look more mature, increasing their growth and certain areas of the body."
I nodded, still trying to process everything. "I could tell. The changes were pretty noticeable."
She smiled, a hint of pride in her voice. "The aura it emits is so devastating that it can burn through attacks from opponents if they aren't strong enough. It's one of my most powerful techniques."
"How long can you stay in that form?" I asked, genuinely curious.
"Up to six hours," she replied, her tone more serious now. "But after that, I'm completely exhausted. It's not something I can use lightly."
I looked at her with newfound respect. "That's impressive... and a bit scary."
Mei shrugged, still smiling. "It has its drawbacks, but it's a necessary tool for battles like these. You just have to know when to use it.""
I nodded, trying to shake off the lingering awe. "Well, I'm just glad you were here. That kaiju would've crushed me if you hadn't stepped in."
"That's what partners are for," she said, her tone reassuring. "But you held your ground. Don't sell yourself short."
I managed a small smile. "Thanks, Mei. I'll try to get stronger so you don't have to keep bailing me out."
She patted my shoulder gently. "You're doing fine, Izumi. We all have our limits. Just keep pushing them."
I couldn't help but ask it at last "You know, Mei, using Green Aistia against a low-level kaiju like that seemed a bit... unnecessary. Was all that just a show-off?"
Mei smirked, her eyes twinkling with mischief. "Maybe a little. But you looked like you needed some help, and I figured why not make it a lesson in power dynamics?"
I sighed, shaking my head with a half-smile. "You really know how to make an impression."
She chuckled, "Hey, if I'm going to save the day, I might as well do it in style. Plus, sometimes it's good to remind them—and you—who's in charge here."
"Yeah, yeah, I get it," I replied, rolling my eyes playfully. "Just try not to burn down the whole neighborhood next time."
"Deal," Mei said with a grin, her tone light but her gaze still serious. "But remember, even the smallest threats can sometimes need a big response. Better to overestimate than underestimate, right?"
"True," I admitted, still feeling a bit awed by the sheer power she had displayed. "But let's not make a habit of it."
Mei nodded, her smile softening. "I'll keep that in mind. Now, what do you say we repair this area and get back to where we were?"
"Sounds like a plan," I agreed, already feeling the weight of the day's events start to lift.
I looked around at the destruction left behind by the battle. "We should start fixing this mess before anyone notices."
Mei nodded in agreement. "Yeah, let's repair the area and then head back to where we were. We don't want to keep the others waiting too long."
"Right," I said, feeling a bit more energized now that the fight was over. Together, we set to work, restoring the damaged area before heading back to our friends.
After Mei and I finished restoring the area, I returned to the exact spot where I had been standing before everything escalated. Mei removed the time barrier, and everything resumed as if nothing had happened. But I couldn't help but wonder what was going on inside the karaoke room while we were outside dealing with kaiju trouble.
As I stood outside the room, my thoughts drifted to what was happening inside. *Is Takashi actually confessing to Yumi right now? What must he be feeling? I bet his heart is pounding like crazy. And what about Yumi? Is she catching on to his feelings?* The anticipation was killing me. I couldn't hear anything from the other side of the door, which only made me more anxious. *Takashi, you better pull through, man. We didn't go through all this trouble for you to chicken out at the last minute.*
I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself. *But what if he's blowing it? What if he's so nervous that he's fumbling his words?* My mind raced with all the possible scenarios. I could picture Takashi stuttering, trying to get the words out. *Come on, Takashi. Just say it. Just tell her how you feel.*
**Inside the Karaoke Room:**
Takashi sat across from Yumi, the microphone in his hand trembling slightly. Yumi, oblivious to his inner turmoil, was smiling, enjoying the moment. The room was filled with a soft, ambient light, and the karaoke screen displayed the lyrics of a love song.
"So, um, Yumi-san," Takashi began, his voice shaky, "there's something I've been meaning to tell you."
Yumi tilted her head slightly, her eyes curious. "What is it, Takashi-kun?"
Takashi swallowed hard, his heart racing. "I… I really like you. I mean, I've liked you for a long time. You're… you're amazing, and I've been too scared to tell you before, but…" His voice trailed off, the weight of his confession hanging in the air.
Yumi's eyes widened slightly, a blush creeping onto her cheeks. "Takashi-kun… are you serious?"
Takashi nodded, feeling a bit bolder. "Yeah, I'm serious. I've been trying to muster the courage to tell you for a while now, but I was too afraid of what you might think. But I can't keep it to myself anymore." He took a deep breath, steadying himself. "Yumi-san, I… I love you. Will you go out with me?"
Yumi's blush deepened, and she looked down at her hands for a moment before meeting Takashi's gaze again. "Takashi-kun… I… I didn't expect this. I mean, I've always thought you were really kind and fun to be around, but…"
Takashi's heart sank. *Is this rejection?*
"But," Yumi continued, her voice soft, "I've been feeling something for you too. I just didn't realize it until now. Maybe… maybe we could give it a try?"
Takashi blinked, hardly believing what he was hearing. "R-really? You mean it?"
Yumi nodded, her smile returning. "Yes, I do."
Takashi's face lit up with a mix of relief and joy. "Thank you, Yumi-san. You have no idea how much this means to me."
Yumi giggled softly. "I'm glad you told me, Takashi-kun. I think… I think we could be really happy together."
Takashi nodded, feeling like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders. "Yeah, me too."
They shared a quiet moment, the tension in the room dissipating as they both began to relax.
**Outside the Karaoke Room:**
I was pacing back and forth, my mind still racing. *It's too quiet in there. What's going on?* I finally stopped, leaning against the wall. *Maybe I'm worrying too much. Takashi's got this… right?*
**Inside the Karaoke Room:**
Takashi cleared his throat, trying to break the comfortable silence that had settled between them. "So, uh, what now?"
Yumi smiled, her eyes sparkling. "Well, since we're in a karaoke room, why don't we celebrate with a song?"
Takashi chuckled, the tension in his body finally starting to fade. "That sounds like a great idea. How about a duet?"
Yumi's smile grew wider. "I'd love that."
They selected a song, something light and cheerful, and as the music started playing, Takashi felt a wave of happiness wash over him. Singing alongside Yumi, he couldn't help but think about how lucky he was. *I actually did it. I actually confessed, and she said yes!*
The song ended, and they both laughed, the mood light and joyful.
**Outside the Karaoke Room:**
I exchanged a glance with Mei, who had been keeping an ear out while casually leaning against the wall. Kaito, standing next to me, was uncharacteristically quiet.
"I think it's time we head back in," I said, unable to hide the curiosity in my voice.
Mei nodded. "Yeah, let's see how it went."
Kaito grinned, rubbing his hands together. "I can't wait to hear the details."
We opened the door and stepped back into the karaoke room, immediately sensing the change in atmosphere. Takashi and Yumi both looked up, their faces flushed, but with smiles that told us everything we needed to know.
**Inside the Karaoke Room:**
As we stepped back into the room, Takashi and Yumi were sitting close, both of them grinning from ear to ear. Kaito immediately picked up on the vibe and smirked.
"So… something good happened while we were out?" Kaito teased, raising an eyebrow.
Takashi turned red, scratching the back of his head. "Uh… yeah, you could say that."
Yumi giggled, her cheeks still flushed. "Takashi-kun and I… well, we're going to give things a try."
Mei clapped her hands together, beaming. "That's great! I'm so happy for you two."
I gave Takashi a thumbs-up. "I knew you had it in you, man. Congrats."
Takashi looked relieved, like he was still processing the fact that he'd actually confessed. "Thanks, Izumi. I couldn't have done it without you guys."
Kaito grinned, slapping Takashi on the back. "We knew you'd pull through. You're tougher than you look."
Yumi laughed, covering her mouth with her hand. "It was really sweet, though. I'm glad he told me how he felt."
Mei leaned forward, resting her chin in her hand. "So, any plans for a first date?"
Takashi and Yumi exchanged glances, both of them looking a bit flustered. "We, uh, haven't really thought that far ahead," Takashi admitted.
Yumi nodded. "Yeah, but I think we'll figure something out soon."
I glanced at the clock on the wall, realizing how late it had gotten. "Well, we've got the room for a little longer, but I'm thinking it's about time to wrap up, right?"
Kaito stretched his arms over his head, yawning exaggeratedly. "Yeah, I'm getting a bit tired myself. Plus, we've had enough excitement for one day."
Mei stood up, grabbing her bag. "Let's head out then. We can figure out where to go next time."
Yumi nodded, standing up alongside Takashi. "Thanks for inviting me, everyone. I had a great time."
Takashi smiled at her. "I'm glad you came, Yumi-san."
We all gathered our things, making sure we hadn't left anything behind. The energy in the room was light and positive, with everyone still riding the high of Takashi's successful confession.
**Outside the Karaoke Building:**
As we exited the karaoke building, the evening air felt cool against my skin. The sun had dipped below the horizon, casting a soft, dusky glow over the streets.
Kaito looked around, then pointed in the direction of his house. "Well, this is my stop. I'll catch you all later."
"Take care, Kaito," Mei said, waving.
Yumi and Takashi exchanged a quick glance before Yumi turned to us. "I think we're headed in the same direction, Takashi-kun."
Takashi nodded, smiling. "Yeah, let's walk together."
"See you tomorrow, everyone," Yumi added with a gentle wave as she and Takashi started walking off together.
Mei and I watched them go, a satisfied feeling settling in my chest. Kaito had already disappeared down his path, leaving just the two of us.
Mei glanced at me, her expression thoughtful. "That went well, don't you think?"
"Yeah," I agreed, slipping my hands into my pockets as we began walking. "Takashi really stepped up."
Mei nodded. "He did. I'm glad everything turned out okay."
We walked in silence for a few more steps, the implications of our words hanging in the air. It was strange—this shift in our usual banter. But it wasn't unwelcome.
"Then, I guess it's a date," I said, trying to keep my voice steady, though my heart was racing.
"Guess it is," Mei replied, a small smile playing on her lips. "Just don't be late, okay? It's not cool to keep your date waiting."
I laughed, feeling some of the tension ease. "Wouldn't dream of it."
As we approached the point where we'd go our separate ways, the mood shifted again, becoming more subdued.
"So, Sunday?" I asked, confirming one last time.
"Sunday," Mei agreed. "And Izumi?"
"Yeah?"
"Thanks. For everything today."
I gave her a small smile. "Anytime, Mei."
We stood there for a moment longer, neither of us really wanting to say goodbye. But eventually, we both knew it was time.
"Well, I should get going," Mei said, finally breaking the silence.
"Yeah, me too," I replied, taking a step back.
"Goodnight, Izumi."
"Goodnight, Mei."
With that, she turned and started down her path, and I did the same. But as I walked, I couldn't help but think about Sunday—and about what might happen next.
To be continued...
