Trevor's awareness was shrouded in darkness. It was as if he was trapped in a never-ending dream, lost between two worlds - the world he knew and the void that haunted him. The memory of the accident that had befallen him was still etched vividly in his mind - the sudden screech of brakes, the searing pain, and then... emptiness.
But fate had not yet run its course.
When Trevor opened his eyes, he found himself lying on a simple room with a wooden ceiling. His body felt light, strange, as if it didn't belong to him. He grasped his hand, gazing at his small fingers. Panic began to set in.
"Where am I?" he whispered softly, his voice sounding younger and more gentle. He hastened to a small mirror in the corner of the room and saw himself - a boy with black hair and piercing eyes. The face was unfamiliar, yet it was not the face he had known for 25 years of his life. But what struck him as strange was the symbol on the boy's clothing - a symbol he knew all too well from... an anime?
"Impossible... I'm... an Uchiha?" his voice trembled in disbelief.
Before he could ponder further, a cold, mechanical voice echoed in his mind.
[ Sharingan System Activated. Welcome to the world of ninja, Trevor. ]
[ Your first task: Save yourself from the impending danger. ]
[ Reward: Sharingan Lv. 1 Upgrade. ]
[ Time remaining: 10 minutes.]
Trevor was taken aback, his eyes widening. A system? This was like a video game or LitRPG story he had read before. Danger? He quickly scanned his surroundings, but everything seemed calm. "What do you mean by danger?" he asked frantically, hoping for an answer.
But there was no time to think further.
The door suddenly swung open with a loud bang, and a young man with a worried face entered. He had black hair and eyes that radiated an aura of darkness similar to Trevor's. "Trevor! We're under attack! Akatsuki is here!"
Akatsuki? Trevor knew the name well. They were one of the most deadly groups in the ninja world. His breath caught in his throat. This wasn't a dream - it was real.
The man - probably his father - pulled Trevor out of the room, leading him through narrow corridors to the outside courtyard. Trevor saw in the distance, black smoke billowing high above the village, sounds of battle and screams echoing everywhere. His body trembled.
[Time remaining: 5 minutes]
The system reminded him again. Trevor knew he had no choice. This wasn't just fantasy - his life was genuinely at risk. If he didn't do something, he would die... again.
"What can I do to survive?" he thought fiercely. For a moment, his instincts as an anime fan surged forth. "Sharingan" was the answer. The Uchiha clan was renowned for their legendary eyes, Sharingan. If he could activate Sharingan, maybe he had a chance.
[Do you want to activate Sharingan Lv. 1? Complete this mission or pay 100 points.]
"I don't even know how to get points!" Trevor grumbled. But he had no time to think of alternatives. He had to survive with whatever he had now.
When they reached the courtyard, Trevor saw him - a man in black robes with a red aura, their eyes meeting briefly. The man was none other than Itachi Uchiha, one of Akatsuki's members. Trevor knew who he was - Itachi's face was as cold as ice without emotions.
Trevor felt bewildered - Itachi should still be wearing his Anbu uniform during the Uchiha clan massacre.
But before Trevor could think further...
"Kazuki, run!" his father yelled, drawing his sword and preparing to fight.
But Trevor knew it was futile. Fighting Itachi? It was impossible for a ordinary ninja...
Trevor realized that his name was now "Kazuki" aka Uchiha Kazuki...
"Sharingan... Activate Sharingan!" Trevor closed his eyes, forcing himself to focus, hoping his new body would respond. A strange feeling emerged within him, a power he had never felt before. When he opened his eyes again, his gaze became sharper. He could see Itachi's movements as if slowed down.
It worked! He had activated Sharingan!
[Sharingan Lv. 1 activated. All enemy movements are visible. ]
[Reward: +10 Power Points]
However, Trevor knew that Sharingan Lv. 1 wouldn't be enough to defeat Itachi. He could only use his speed and wit to escape.
"Run that way!" Trevor told his father, pointing to a narrow alley that seemed safe. With Sharingan, he could see gaps in Itachi's movements and use those moments to escape. They ran without stopping, while explosions and footsteps echoed behind them...
