Chapter 14 ~ Todoroki vs Natsu, Final Part
The air was thick with tension, filled with the roaring sounds of battle as Natsu and Todoroki unleashed their elemental powers. Every corner of the building seemed alive, trembling and shaking under the tremendous force of their clashing abilities. Fire and ice spiraled through the air in a deadly dance, each collision sparking a violent shockwave that reverberated throughout the walls and floors.
Natsu moved first, his body enveloped in flames that licked at the air around him. His eyes burned with fierce determination as he launched himself upward, tearing through the icy barriers with explosive force. Flames erupted from his fists, searing through the cold tendrils that sought to slow him down. The heat was intense, warping the air and turning the once-solid ice into steam in seconds.
Todoroki, standing with his feet firmly planted on the ground, summoned more ice with a wave of his hand. Massive spikes of crystalline frost erupted from the floor, jagged and sharp, aiming to impale Natsu. But the fiery hero met each attack head-on, his body spinning and weaving through the onslaught with ease. His flames crackled around him, burning brighter as he smashed through the ice, leaving nothing but scorched remnants in his wake.
The building groaned under the strain of their fight. Cracks spider-webbed across the walls, and the floor beneath them trembled as if it would give way at any moment. Natsu's fire blazed hotter, more intense, the flames dancing wildly as he propelled himself toward the upper floors, aiming to reach the fake nuclear rocket that was their goal. He crashed through walls of ice, shattering them with fiery blasts, leaving molten puddles in his wake.
Below, Sero and Shoji were locked in their own fierce struggle. Sero, with his quick reflexes and tape, swung from beam to beam, narrowly avoiding Shoji's powerful blows. But their fight was constantly interrupted by the sheer force of Natsu and Todoroki's battle. Explosions of fire and ice sent debris flying in all directions, forcing both Sero and Shoji to scramble for cover. Shoji gritted his teeth, narrowly dodging a massive chunk of ice that shattered inches from his face.
"Damn it!" Sero muttered as he landed beside a crumbled wall, catching his breath. "This is insane… we're just trying to survive their fight!"
Shoji nodded grimly, his multiple arms shifting into defensive positions. "We need to time this right… we can't take them head-on like this."
Above them, the true battle raged. Todoroki's patience was wearing thin. His cold gaze narrowed, frustration etched on his face as he saw Natsu continue to charge through every wave of ice he threw at him. With a sharp inhale, Todoroki slammed his foot down, causing the ground beneath him to erupt in an enormous sheet of ice that spread out in every direction, freezing the walls and ceiling, and turning the once-hot battlefield into a frozen wasteland.
Natsu, feeling the temperature plummet, grinned fiercely as steam rose from his body. "Is that all you've got, Todoroki?!"
Todoroki didn't respond. His face was as cold as the ice around him, his eyes locked onto Natsu with unrelenting focus. With a swift motion, Todoroki raised his hands, and the temperature dropped even further. Massive, jagged shards of ice formed overhead, each one pointed like a spear, ready to rain down on Natsu.
In an instant, Todoroki unleashed them. The shards hurtled toward Natsu with deadly speed, cutting through the air like arrows. But Natsu was ready. He punched forward, a massive torrent of fire erupting from his fists, engulfing the spears of ice and melting them in mid-air. The heat was unbearable, turning the battlefield into a smoldering inferno.
But Todoroki wasn't finished. Anger flashed in his eyes as he took a step forward. The entire building seemed to tremble as he unleashed his full power. Ice exploded outward from him, covering the walls, the floor, and the ceiling in thick, unbreakable frost. The air was frigid, every breath turning into mist as the temperature plummeted even further. The walls groaned under the weight of the ice, and huge chunks of frozen debris began to fall from the ceiling.
Suddenly, with a deafening crash, the entire building began to collapse. Giant shards of ice broke free, crashing to the ground like frozen meteors, tearing through the structure. Natsu, trapped beneath layers of ice, struggled to free himself, his body encased in the frozen grip of Todoroki's power.
But even as the ice tightened around him, Natsu's flames began to burn hotter. His eyes glowed with fiery determination as he gritted his teeth, pushing against the crushing weight of the ice. Steam hissed and crackled as his body began to heat up, melting the ice that surrounded him. With a roar, Natsu unleashed a massive wave of fire, shattering the frozen prison that held him.
"Fire Dragon's Roar!"
The ice melted in an instant, evaporating into steam as Natsu stood tall, flames swirling around him like a dragon ready to strike. "I'm not done yet!" he shouted, his voice echoing through the now-ruined building. "I'm just getting started!"
Todoroki's cold eyes met Natsu's fiery gaze, and for a moment, the two stood still, their powers radiating off of them in waves. Then, with a sudden burst of speed, they charged at each other. Fire and ice clashed in the center of the room, sending out a shockwave so powerful that it blew the remaining walls apart.
But it was Natsu who had the final move. With one last, powerful burst of flames, he broke through Todoroki's defenses and leaped toward the fake nuclear rocket. His hand stretched out, fingers just inches away. Todoroki, too late to stop him, could only watch as Natsu's hand touched the rocket, sealing his victory.
As the flames around them died down, Natsu stood victorious, a smile on his face as he caught his breath. "That… was intense," he said with a satisfied grin. "But I got it."
Todoroki, breathing heavily, stared at Natsu with cold, unreadable eyes. Without a word, he turned and walked away, his face set in a grim expression. The defeat weighed heavily on him, his body tense, unable to fully accept the loss.
Natsu watched him go, the smile still lingering on his face. "Hey, Todoroki!" he called out, his tone surprisingly light. "It was a fun game, I enjoyed it."
Todoroki paused for a moment, his back still turned to Natsu. Then, without looking back, he continued walking, the cold expression never leaving his face.
In the observation room, the students were stunned into silence. The battle had been beyond anything they had expected, and the sheer power on display had left them all in awe. All Might, arms crossed and a serious look on his face, broke the silence. "That was... quite the battle," he said, his voice filled with admiration. "Both of them fought with everything they had."
The students nodded, still processing what they had just witnessed. But for Natsu, standing amidst the ruins of the battle, there was only one thought on his mind: 'This isn't over yet. There's still more to come. Man! I will have such fights always here? This is the best!'
