Chapter 4 - Chapter 6

"Oh, honey, I'm not daft. And I'm sure all these people who took us aren't either. If they're going to keep us here, they sure are going to keep us alive. If not, if they wanted to kill us, we would have been killed instead of being kidnapped."

"Mom," Emerald said, "You don't know Sarah,"

"Of course, I don't. She's just a young bitch who has a bunch of guards, I'd never want to be near someone like her."

"Mom," Emerald said, "From the little bit I know, Sarah is not the little kid that you think she is. She…" Emerald trailed off, remembering how she'd been mistreated by Sarah. She did not want to tell her mother about this so she kept it to herself while continuing, "I just don't think you should deal with Sarah in the way you think, Sarah is kind of a big deal, she owns guards and stuff."

"Doesn't matter, the little bitch should show me some respect." Emerald's mother said and Emerald sighed without another word.

Another day broke before Emerald's eyes and neither her father nor Lucian had come to rescue them and this was driving Emerald crazy. If not for herself, then it was for her mother. They both did not deserve to be here. Emerald feared that If her father did not come, it would only be a little while before they suffered.

Weeks later, Emerald's Father, Damien was losing his mind. He had invited all his men to help him find his wife and daughter, yet not one of them could bring a single good news back, because of the situation, Damien was balding a little in the middle of his head.

"How is it?" Damien stopped pacing forth and back in the room as soon as one of his informants entered the room with a brown envelope in his hands.

"Boss," The informant said while looking around the room. Then he turned to Damien and handed him the brown envelope. Damien snatched the envelope from the informant's hand and tore the envelope open revealing a report on his businesses.

This wasn't what Damien was looking forward to, so he dumped the letter on the floor and looked at his informant with anger in his eyes.

"Is this what I asked you to report to me? I mean I want to find out about my wife and daughter, what the hell is this report for?!"

"But boss, the company needs to continue running even though…" The information trailed off, catching Damien's attention.

"What?" he said. "What did you need to say? What were you going to say just now?" Damien asked causing the informat to stumble on his knees.

"I-i'm sorry, boss."

"No, get up." With a single arm, Damien lifted the information and said, "I'm not going to punish you as long as you tell me what you were going to say."

The information stepped back and bowed his head. "With all due respect boss, all I'm saying is that even though your wife and daughter and missing, the company still has to move. And without you, there would be no such thing as a movement."

Damien asked the informant to kneel and then he did, his face facing the ground. "Boss, you asked me to tell you my insight and this is the unadulterated one I'm speaking."

"You want me to forget my wife and children all for the company, am I correct?"

"Not at all boss, I'm just saying you can leave the search to us while you tend to the company." The informant replied with his head bowed, feigning humility. But Damien was not having it.

"You," Damien said pointedly, "How dare you tell me what to do? This is about my family! Have you a family?"

The informant nodded begrudgingly. "Yes, I do."

"Now if you weren't a cruel son of a horse, which I think you are, if your mother and your brother or sister suddenly disappear, what are you going to do?"

"Well, I would report the matter to the police and wait for news."

"You know what? you're a coward. Despite knowing how the situation of the police here is, you're willing to put your family's life on the line expecting them to be saved. What kind of tragic lifestyle is that?" Damien asked with an annoyed expression on his face.

"It's nothing, I… I just."

"Enough about that, but I know my family is important to me, and as for the files and reports related to my company, send them all to my assistant. He's there for a reason. If he can't even manage my company while I'm busy doing something else, then he's not worthy to be my assistant." Damien said causing the informat to pick up the letter and envelope from the ground.

"I'll do as you've said, boss." The informant replied and just then another person stepped into the room, she was a female and she had red lipstick on her lips. She was dressed in an all-black office wear with a short shirt and she was wearing lingerie on her legs. She was in her early twenties and Damien called her baby. Not that they had a sexual relationship, no, it wasn't like that. Baby was one of the young passionate workers of Damien in the mafia and she had a lot of networks, all she did was recruit young men with a lot of money into the mafia Damien was the boss of and this has helped Damien's Mafia tremendously.

Young men who already had money sought out one thing, power, and that was something Damien was willing to give to them in exchange for their youthful energy.

"Baby, I can see that you're here," Damien said, turning his full gaze and attention to her.

"Sir Damien," said baby. "I'm so sorry about what happened to your family, but don't worry we'll find them soon." Damien turned to the informant, "You are dismissed."
