"Quit it, Sarah. I've had enough of you." He said and Sarah sneered. "If you know what's good for you, you wouldn't dismiss me so easily."
"I've thought about this, Sarah. And you know I rarely change my mind. I don't love you."
Sarah seemed to freeze at that instant. She froze and gasped, "You don't love me?"
"I don't." He said firmly.
"If you don't love me then what use is my life for?"
Without anymore hesitation, Sarah headed toward the cliff and before Lucian could hold her back, she jumped and was engulfed into the body of water.
Lucian hissed, knowing that it was a risk for him to jump into the water with Sarah.
So he simply watched the water bubble, then he shook his head and walked away from the side of cliff.
By now, at the barn, the bodyguards had found Emerald and her mother tied up inside the barn.
One of the bodyguards on Damien side brought out his phone and called Damien.
"Yes what is it?" Was Damien's reply after the call was accepted.
"Your daughter and wife have been found, but they look unwell. We're transporting them to the hospital as soon as possible."
Lucian arrived at the barn and heard the conversation, then he said, "No way, I'm bringing them back to my house for home treatment. I'd rather not get involved with an official hospital at this time."
"Give the phone to Lucian." Damien said through the phone to the bodyguard.
The bodyguard did as Damien wished and gave Lucian the phone.
"Hello?" He said and Damien cleared his throat.
"Bring my daughter and wife back to my mansion for treatment, there's a team of doctors currently waiting for them."
Lucian sighed but he had no choice but to give in to what Damien had just said.
"Fine." Then he cut the call and handed the phone back to the bodyguard.
Emerald by now had only managed to wake up through the whole fuss.
"What is going on?" She muttered under her breath due to her throat being parched.
"Emerald," Lucian's lips parted, feeling his wolf leap for joy within him from her waking up.
He crouched down in front of her. "Are you alright?"
She nodded intensely then she whispered, "Sarah."
Lucian's mind flashed back to when he saw Sarah jump into the body of water.
"It's over now," he said.
"What do you mean?" Emerald whispered ever so quietly.
"She's dead." He said frankly causing Emerald's lips to part open.
"What?"
"Yes," he answered. He didn't think it was necessary to say in which way Sarah died so he kept his answer as short as possible and even decided to change the topic.
"You look incredibly hurt, are you okay?" He asked.
"I feel cold." Muttered Emerald.
Lucian placed a hand on her forehead and saw that she was running a fever.
"You have a fever," he said out loud. Then he placed a hand on Emerald's passed out mom forehead as well.
"You both have a running fever. We should get that treated right away."
"We?" Emerald said confusingly.
"That's right. Your father called."
Emerald's eyes brightened at the thought of her father. He was all she could think of at the moment because when she was held by that villain Sarah, she thought of if her father would be able to save her. And If he couldn't, would he forget her as his daughter?
She knew her father was very influential and strong on his own. But did he take family as seriously?
This was a testament to her thoughts when she was in captivity that her father would do anything to find her and her mother.
Lucian lifted Emerald up from the floor and carried her bridal style.
The bodyguard from Damien's side also carried Emerald's mother and took them in the truck. The truck was spacious enough to inhabit all of them but Lucian left the guards outside while he took the driver's seat and proceeded to drive away.
"What is going on here?" Emerald's mother was the next to wake up in the truck.
Emerald gasped and went to embrace her mother.
"Oh mother, I've been worried sick about you."
"I'm fine. Oh, look how pale you are."
"Same to you, mom."
Emerald's mother chuckled and wrapped her hands around Emerald. "Oh you sweet, little pie."
Lucian watched as both mother and daughter reunited through the rearview mirror. He then went ahead to keep his eye on the road while wondering if it was a good idea to let Emerald go to her father's house. He wanted If she had the guts to tell her father the hell he'd put her through in their marriage.
Just as they were about to reach an intersection leading to Damien's house, Lucian took a U-turn.
"Huh? What is going on?" Emerald's mother asked Lucian out loud. "You could have taken us to my husband's house, where the hell are you going?"
Emerald's lips tightened, she was feeling as though Lucian felt threatened by her going to her father's house because it was a safe haven for her. He peharps felt as though she would tell her father what she had been through all these days in Lucina's hands and to be honest, she felt tempted to tell her Father but she was scared.
All the pathways she'd tried leading up to her getting kidnapped by Lucian's concubine, Sarah made her scared. She didn't want to know the other connections that Lucian had. Peharps, it could lead to her cutting her life shut.
"Ma'am you don't have to worry about anything, you and your daughter are absolutely safe with me."
Emerald looked at the back of Lucian's head and shivered. She was afraid, not of Lucian but of what he was capable of. She did not want her family to be in any sort of trouble simply because she couldn't keep her mouth shut.
If there was a moment she wished for, it was when she was still single and living in her Father's house. At least she was carefree then and didn't worry about anything.
