"You should be careful how you treat me. I am still your mother and one day if that man stops backing you, you will only have me to run back to. I have a kind heart to take you in again," said Evelyn.
Veronica scoffed. She knew little but the one thing she knew was that her mother was counting on her death. "You have a kind heart? You didn't want me to wake up."
"Don't say that. They were already talking like you were dead. I already went through the stages of preparing to let go of you. When I saw you wake up, I was mad at the doctors for making me think I was losing you. I don't want you to die. You came from me," Evelyn said, taking a step forward to embrace Veronica.
Veronica stepped back.
