"After all the money I spent on her, this is the thanks I get?" Henry asked, furious with the position he was in now.
He hadn't considered Liam would be so interested and petty enough to buy the building. Now, everything he worked for was going down the drain, and there wasn't another building he could afford to get.
"Thank you," Liam mockingly thanked Henry. "I am just curious. How much money are you going to ask your niece's husband for? You are acting like this is the old days when men paid for their wives."
"Beth is my niece. Why would I ask her husband for money?" Henry replied. He didn't share any blood with Veronica. She was a package he didn't know about until after he was deep into his relationship with Evelyn.
"When you married Veronica's mother, you took some responsibility for her as her stepfather. That money you spent on her was your choice so don't be going around saying you are owed something. You sound stupid," Liam said.
