Sophia was right. Paul was not just acknowledged by 5 Divine Gods, rather, he was acknowledged by more, perhaps even all 9 Divine Gods.
Never had something like this happened since the Age of Gods began, it was unprecedented but Paul was used to it by now.
Since his awakening, only unprecedented things have been happening around him. He could not control it, so he learned to adapt to it.
'I already confirmed being acknowledged by 7 Divine Gods, I wonder if the remaining 2 also extended the reach of their powers to me'. Paul thought as he escorted these awakened warriors to their grave.
'The last 2 Divine Gods are the Divine Odin, and the Divine Freya'.
'The Goddess Freya…, she's the goddess of divination and manipulation, can I be acknowledged by someone like her?'
Bam!
The door leading into the inn was finally slammed shut, they were outside.
Snapping out of his thoughts, instinctively, Paul's hands naturally unsheathed the pair of Stilettos strapped to his waist before moving with precision.
"That's him, boss, he…"
Bam!
The man's words were stuck in his throat as just like his counterpart died, the Stiletto stabbed through his chin before bursting out of his skull above.
His body jerked slightly before turning stiff, he was dead.
The middle-aged awakened warrior's eyes widened. "You…!" But then, this experienced awakened warrior retreated rapidly.
"Surround him!" He roared. "Let's teach this traveler to fear the Butcher!"
Under the veil of his hood, Paul's sunken eyes observed calmly with the cold calculating indifference of a killer.
If there was something that Paul learned in his past few days of traveling that stuck with him, it was the true nature of this world in the Age of Gods.
The emergence of the demonic beasts didn't just result in the mass slaughter of humans, pursuing them from established cities and establishments to the wild to start anew as a civilization, but its greatest effect was on the psyche.
In the 21st century, living in safe cities, only thinking of your job and how to make money, there was crime but subjectively, life was more peaceful.
Now? Power was all that dictated the right to life.
In the Age of Gods, there was no more rule of law governing countries. Villages like Turuk Village lived independently from any governing power despite the fact that they all existed under Denmark as a nation.
Most villages were not as peaceful as Turuk Village. Most villages in the world now were ruled by tyrants, powerful awakened who finally got the power to fulfill their wild fantasies.
In these villages, the bandits and gangs ruled, robbing any and everybody who happened to visit their village.
The only semblance of order is mostly found in the towns where there are mayors working for the President, but even there, powerful awakened warriors had strongholds where they spread their tyranny in the towns.
In the past 5 days, Paul learned that against these tyrants and their minions, common sense was a luxury, the best option was killing them.
In the past 5 days, he learned that violence was the better solution than diplomacy. This was the true nature of the Age of Gods.
Well, luckily, as a Cosmopolitan, he was suited for violence.
Paul did not go about through villages and towns showcasing that he was a Cosmopolitan though, he instead created a façade that he was an awakened Heimdall with the powers of foresight and superhuman strength.
That stunt in the inn where he drank such strong wine without any obvious reaction, it could be attributed to his natural resistance to alcohol and not a God power that he had.
This was why from the moment that the awakened warriors in gray armor used their weapons before him, he easily concluded to kill them all.
Immediately after killing the first awakened warrior, while they tried to surround him, Paul charged at another one, jumping with his knee slamming upward to collide against this awakened warrior's head.
Crack!
His skull fractured from the sheer force of that hit! The other awakened warriors were frightened.
"Don't fear, I'm here, he's just 1 awakened warrior".
"1 intermediate warrior is not enough to intimidate all of us, I'm an intermediate warrior too!" This middle-aged man shouted angrily before charging in with his weapon, a Great Sword.
He was an Apollo with God powers of healing and sun enhancement. Unlike Mr. John, Aunt Ariel's husband though, when under the sun, his physical traits were enhanced till it seemed like he had the God power of superhuman strength.
Charging forward with an angry roar, this middle-aged man cleaved down with his Great Sword in a mighty swing.
In that moment, Paul's foresight triggered.
Foresight was the birth of confidence.
He didn't move till the last moment and just as the Great Sword almost cleaved him in two, he adjusted his body, brushing his body against the onrushing body of the man for a few moments as his hand moved in a blur.
The middle-aged man rushed past, then he stopped, his hands still holding his Great Sword but then, he coughed blood.
There were 2 tiny holes in his body, one through his ribs that bypassed a tiny opening in his gray leather armor and the other hole through his neck.
The attacks happened so fast that the other awakened warriors didn't see it.
With a grimace, this man collapsed on the ground, dead.
Paul's sunken, cold, and emotionless eyes glanced at the other warriors and they flinched, some even falling to their butt and scrambling back up to run.
He just killed an intermediate awakened warrior as an apprentice, but Paul didn't react like it was a big deal. To him, it was no big deal, this middle-aged man was far weaker than Geass was.
"You, wait!" He pointed at one of them.
"Y-y-yes?" This awakened warrior in gray armor pissed his body as he turned around, Paul ignored it.
"Which way to Greenland City?"
"I-I-it's just after Drizzle Town. You take the main road down street till you arrive at the main junction, then, you can take a demonic beast carriage there".
"I can take a demonic beast carriage straight from this town to Greenland City?"
"Yes, boss, I promise, please spare my life".
"Ok, good, thank you". Paul patted him on the back slightly before turning to leave, his voice and eyes still cold and emotionless.
Watching him leave, this awakened warrior's legs buckled as he collapsed on the floor. 'A monster…, an absolute monster!' He thought.
'No,' he shook his head. 'H-he's a demon!'
'A dead demon!'
